Mira nodded slightly, Aiden's comment about the humans couldn't be more true and she had the scar to prove it. She carefully stepped into the room, unfamiliar with the layout so she didn't want to trip on anything. Her eyes had scanned the room and stopped on Edmund. He was bigger than before, or at least his aura signified his change in height.
Her heart seemed to swell, and for once she was speechless herself. She had been gone so long, she didn't know what she could say or where to start. Edmund spoke out but seemed to stop. She frowned, had she done something wrong, or did something happen that she didn't know about? The questions filled her mind in the possibilities of what he meant to say. Before she could attempt to speak, he pulled her into a hug. Mira was a little startled but relaxed after a moment. He felt warm. And for even just the brief second, she could swear she could hear his heartbeat.
She seemed to smile softly, enjoying the small bit of closeness, when Edmund pulled back and began to ask similar questions as Aiden. Everyone really was concerned about her. Mira frowned, she hadn't known that she had caused such a big ruckus with her leaving the Academy.
"Doctors cannot help Mira. She is okay. Mira sews her wounds back up and she will be fine." she answered, blinking with worry. "Mira was at the research facility. She thought she was doing good. And then they shut down so Mira came back." she paused, shifting her gaze to the ground, beginning to half-realize how naive she really had been, and probably still was. "Mira always wanted to come back. But the research was never finished." she mumbled, trying her best to explain, but starting to find herself even doubtful of how wise her decision to leave had been.

Aiden stepped to the side, letting Edmund get to Mira without and obstruction. She could feel the way Mira still felt attached to him, but despite it being a good feeling, a pained expression came to her face. Stupid... stupid Mira... running off without a word, coming back and expecting everything to be just as it was.
She tried to police her feelings, she didn't want Mira to feel the nausea she was feeling from the whole experience. Aiden was at least thankful that Edmund hadn't said anything about her new appearance, and judging from what he was doing when they walked in, he had gotten her text. Of course it was then that she noticed Edmund was looking at her and she immediately put up a fake smile. "Let me get the needle and thread for you..." She excused herself for a moment to go dig around in her side of the room.
It took a few moments, but she returned with the needle and thread, as well as a pair of scissors. "Let me sew it up for you, okay? Um... it would be easier if you were sitting." She stepped away to pull a chair over to Mira and Edmund and then took one of Mira's hands in her's and guided her into it.
"I'm glad you're back, Mira. Don't run off like that again." She undid the makeshift bandage on Mira's head and examined it. Despite her words and level voice, her face had slipped back into a melancholy frown. Yes, she was happy that Mira was back, but the realization that she could very well become the third wheel again had really put a damper on the emotion.

As Mira explained that she was at the research facility, how they had been experimenting on her all this time, and how then after using her for so long they just... all abandoned her, Edmund could feel the beginnings of a rage washing over him. He was mad that people like that had found Mira, mad at himself that he hadn't gone looking for her to protect her, and even a little mad at Mira for letting people use her like that. He clenched his teeth and his fists clenched where they were at his sides and he worked to fight the anger back down. His eyes slipped closed as he concentrated. The last thing anyone needed right now was for him to slip into a berserk rage.
"Well I'm glad that...you're ok now too. But listen Mira, please don't just take off again without talking to anyone like Aiden said. If something had happened.... we wouldn't have been able to come help you." His words came out measured, like he was choosing them very carefully, and the emotion behind them sounded like it was straining to get past the mental gates he had been putting up to hold them in. He paused a moment as he watched Aiden begin to sew up Mira's wounds. "I'm sorry if I sound mad, it just really scares me to think of what could have happened to you." His voice came out a bit softer this time.
The expression on Aiden's face was not lost in Edmund though. Aiden looked so unhappy and Edmund wondered if it was merely because of the situation of Mira disappearing without saying something, or if there was something else going on. "Do you two want me to get you anything? Are you hungry?" He wanted to be useful and maybe getting some food would give him some more time to get his head on straight.

Mirabelle had waited for Aiden as she went to get the needle and thread. As Aiden walked away, she seemed to look off toward the ground, placing a hand on her chest for a moment. She looked slightly worried but managed to collect herself as Aiden returned, putting up a smile. She was starting to become aware of how awkward the tension was in the room, as she nodded at Aiden and took her hand, moving to sit in the chair as instructed. She didn't seem all too phased by the needle pricking her as she could tolerate the pain just fine, in fact, it didn't even seem to hurt her at all. Her wincing played up to the needle however, even though it didn't bother her, covering up her pain within in her heart.
"Mira promises never to run off again. Oh, but she has a new device that helps Mira contact her brother and Edmund in times of need." she explained, as she reached a hand down carefully into her white satchel and pulled out a normal looking phone. "It has a voice dial option for Mira to use. Now she can call whoever she has the number to." she seemed happy about the idea that now she'd be able to contact them without searching for them.
Her eyes turned upward toward Edmund as she gave a smile, hiding whatever she was feeling deep down, "Mira understands. She didn't realize such things would upset Aiden and Edmund. She is very sorry." she paused for a moment. "She wishes to make it up to you both however she can." she offered, not entirely sure of what she should do to make it all up to the two of them. "Mira is not hungry, so she is fine." she commented, then looked to Aiden for her answer. "If Aiden is hungry, Mira can help cook something for him." she offered with a smile. Mirabelle could feel the emotions in the room as she tried to help settle things down the best she could.
