He took the hand that was offered, shaking with a slight grin. "Nah, I'm fine. My best buddy's got more cash than brains--then again, that ain't hard for Danny," he admitted. "But I am making the club work for seeds. Even if they're rich," he added with an evil smirk.
"It might piss them off, but can't you just see them working their asses off just to get a couple of seeds when their deaddies hand them millions on a weekly basis?" he asked, purely evil at that moment. "Nah, I'm probably going to lose half the club because of this, but I don't care. Once in a while you gotta make money for yourself." He looked at her, cocking his head slightly.
"So who are you competing against? I think it was that sleepy guy, Claire's brother?" he asked, letting one hand drop down on Clef's head to scratch him behind the ear.

You know, there isn't a single thing wrong with working for your wages. Hard earned money is money well spent, in the end. You get more than just the satisfaction of your purchase - or your savings. You get the pride of knowing you earned it. Our people have a very high work ethic. We've all went on raids before. Even the children.
Perhaps Riley's idea of working, and Roch's idea of working, were just a weee bit different.. but she appreciated a hard working boil, nonetheless.
At the mention of her competition, she sighed dramatically. Ah, yes. I am formally competing against Barth, the Sloth demon, as far as I know. She only laid subtle emphasis on the word sloth, but it was there. He is my neighbor, and I have watched him shuffle work to others every since I've known him. I would like to say it's nice to see him work for something on his own, for once, but alas, such is not the case at all. His VP is doing all the work for him, I'm sure. Sloth demons, what can you do? They can only be who they are. I really don't even know why he's running in the first place, but he's entitled. Anyone is. We shall hope for the best, regardless.

"Well you got my backing," he said. "Don't know how much power that'll come with, sorry, but for what it's worth I'll definitely vote for you. Hell, if you really want I'll play for you, if you can think of a way to stick it in," he promised. It seemed quite generous until you looked at the little grin on his lips. Roch was definitely thinking something.
"A little free club publicity and all that, y'know?" he added, making his plan clear. "One of these days I'm actually going to make a working band or two out of this group."

Riley placed her hand gently on Roch's arm. Believe me. It's worth a lot to me. And I think that would be lovely. Perhaps during a campaigning session, I shall ask you to come by. Live music always attracts a crowd - especially good music, like yours. And I'd be happy to have it double as publicity for your club. It's good thinking.
She leaned over and plucked her clipboard off of his table, jotting down the idea as well as the other things they'd spoken of. I think this went well. I'm going to go speak with some of your fellow reapers concerning the campaign, now. Here -
She took one of her pins, and then leaned back; only to realized that, oh yes, he was still shirtless. She slowly, reluctantly put the pin back in her bag, and reached for a Riley plush instead. It wasn't her first choice for boils, but.. she nestled it in the crook of his arm.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.

"Thanks, but can I get the pin too?" Roch asked. "Trust me, I'll find some place to stick it," he said with an evil grin. "And if people are lucky, it might even be on my bag!" He picked up the plush toy, looking at it with a grin. It would go with his Astra plush, he decided. "And good luck with your campaigning," he added.

You can have anything you want, my dear friend. Riley chuckled, handing over the pin she had put away. I'd be honored. And thank you. Despite what some may believe, I think I'll need it.
She reached out, patting his knee gently, before rising from the bed. I will leave you to return to your music. Expect a contact from me soon concerning playing for my campaign. I am very excited for it. Her face lifted in place of a grin, and her smooth movements took her to the door, opening it in front of her. She turned her head to the side, and offered Roch a gentle, finger curling wave.
Until then.

He watched her leave, a little smile pulling on his lips. Roch wasn't stupid. Sure he did a lot of stupid things, and sometimes said stupid stuff, but his street sense was top notch. That lady was definitely one you wanted to be on the good side of.
Basically, if he were to think on it too long, she would terrify the s**t out of him. Not because of what she looked like, or even that she was a demon. It was because of that determined way of doing things, matched with a brain that could use telepathy, and a body that could throw a jackin' booth like it was a box of tissues.
He summoned his guitar and started playing again, thinking that it was really a good thing he didn't plan on thinking about it too long.
