...that had been an impressive jump, yes. It even made Warwick blink a little, surprised by the power behind that movement, by the fact that the unassuming knight could actually do something.

For a moment, he was too surprised to do anything but stare. The orders, though, kicked in: Warwick was used to taking orders, and they immediately rebooted him. He started back into motion, taking a few steps forward for his own feat. A running start and he scrabbled up the side of the trunk, one hand free to catch the branch beside the youma and the other cramming the knife into its great hand while it was distracted with Valhalla.

Of course, then its other hand came around to knock Warwick back to earth like a bag of flour. The dull throb of knife in its hand made the creature wobble, off-balance. Much easier prey.

"What the hell?!" Valhalla gaped at Warwick, not having expected Warwick to be that much of a monkey, himself. Climbing up trees like it was nothing! And without any of the special added features he got as a knight. Not that he was complaining, of course, because the guy actually did manage to stab the youma's hand and bought him some time and another opportunity to strike.

Diving for one of the clubs that he'd thrown at it earlier, Valhalla quickly spun around with a heavy swing to the side of the youma's head, and since it was already unbalanced, it went down easier. It was no baseball bat, but it did the job.

He didn't want to waste any more time, worried that Warwick might have been seriously injured, and jumped onto the youma's back without a second thought. Dropping the club and yanking the knife from its hand, the knight dealt a carefully placed blow to its neck, and fell flat on his a** as the dust from the monster burst into the air from underneath him. His stomach twisted uncomfortably, not thinking he would ever get used to killing these things, even if they were monsters bent on killing everyone else in turn, but he was trying to convince himself that it had to be done. Maybe he was too soft for a job like this.

"Are you okay??" he called, pushing himself to his feet to move over to Warwick so he could glance him over and make sure there weren't any obvious injuries.

There was a long scrape along the back of one of his arms, bleeding and nasty looking but really just a surface injury. He'd caught it as he tumbled past a tree, bark ripping up flesh in a way that was very familiar. He'd done that to his knees quite a few times in his youth, learning how to climb the damned trees. Hurt like a b***h for now, and it probably would keep hurting later, but there would be nothing permanent...

He stayed where he was for the moment, wincing as he stared up at Valhalla in his stupid outfit, the grass beneath him cool and reassuring. Warwick had missed the dust explosion of dying youma. If he'd known, he probably would have been disappointed. As it was now, it was probably easier to just say it was an escaped monkey and let him think it rain off.

"...cell phone?" He clutched after something small for now, blinking dazedly. He only had one cell phone.

Valhalla quickly made his way over to the man with the multi-colored hair, leaning over him and reaching out a hand in an offer to help him up. "That tree climbing thing was pretty amazing," he said, trying not to sound too much in awe. He knew he could jump up where Warwick had been, but that was because he had special powers, as lame as they were, and found himself able to jump farther and run faster than before. But this guy... he didn't need to have special powers, it seemed.

"Your... phon-- Oh!" he gasped, quickly glancing around for where it could have been dropped. He was perfectly fine with pretending an escaped monkey ran off. It was less questions for him to answer, less for him to worry about, really. Valhalla glanced around, picking up the various pieces of equipment that had been used to attack the youma with, making a face when he saw that one of the clubs looked like it was cracked, and the blade of the knife was bent.

He made a mental note to himself to come by the park some time and see if the guy was performing and just... drop in a few twenties or something. He felt horrible for ruining his stuff when he'd helped him out.

"Do you have a first aid kit in that bag of yours?" Valhalla wondered, hoping to at least get Warwick patched up before he left. He ducked behind one of the trees the youma had been in, trying to search for the missing phone.

"Uhm. Yeah. Somewhere. Near the bottom, maybe..." He wobbled as he stood, eyes closed and two fingers pressed against his forehead. There was a throbbing in his temples that probably just stemmed from the adrenaline that had coursed through him, from the end of stress. That didn't make it hurt any less, but it meant there was no more damage, really, than the scrapes and bruises that would inevitably take him over tomorrow.

"It's orange, plastic..." He gestured, vaguely, to the approximate size of the thing, and then stumbled forward another step, cracking his eyes to aid in the cell phone search. He wasn't going to be much help at all, stumbling a bit as he was, but at least the thing wasn't that hard to find. If Valhalla rummaged around where the youma had fallen, he'd probably find it.

The screen was broken.

"Sit down!" Valhalla snapped, watching warily as the man swayed. He felt bad for the guy and wanted to help get him back to normal life as soon as possible. He did indeed find the cellphone soon enough, and winced when he realized the damage it had gone through.

"Ah... Um... I don't think it's going to work... I could get you a new one?" he offered weakly, not knowing how he would get up with the man once they part ways. He inspected the object, before slowly handing it over to the man once he came within arm's reach. Well, that sucked... it just wasn't this guy's day, was it?

"I'm Valhalla, by the way. In case you want a name for the strange guy dressed as a viking if you tell stories," he explained, feeling like it was a lame defense for offering his name. Heck, he would probably just be called 'that strange guy dressed as a viking' anyway. "You're not from around here, are you?" He figured he could caution a guess as he went to the bag and dug around for the first aid kit. He couldn't see it, but he felt a flat plastic surface and grinned once he pulled the orange box up.

"Did you want to do this yourself...?" he offered, not wanting to make the guy feel awkward with some strange touching him, but he also didn't make it sound as though he minded either way.

Warwick took the phone and stood staring at the broken screen for a very long time before he tried the power button. He pressed it slowly, fingers lingering, as if by taking his time he could prevent the inevitable. Definitely he could delay it but --

But miracle of miracles, his phone did in fact work. The screen was smashed in, but the protective case [important for someone who ran around the city like a madman] had done its job and defended the sensitive machinery inside. HIs expression washed quickly to relief. Sure, his phone looked like s**t now, was something of an embarrassment perhaps, but at least it could make calls. And get them.

"...Ah." He looked up at Valhalla, not quite sure how to go about offering his own name, so he went with the question instead -- licking his lips and considering the bag. He shifted, lifting one arm to display scratched skin. "If you can get the one on my elbow I should be okay..."

"It works??" Valhalla nearly gasped in surprise. Well, what a lucky break. He supposed karma was on Warwick's side today. Uh, besides being chased by a youma and getting cut up.

"Yeah, I can get your elbow, hold still," he requested, crouching down so he could open the bag and finding a little disposable wipe so he could clean off the dirt. It didn't take him long to get the scrape cleaned up and bandaged, and soon Valhalla was standing up to hand the bag back to the man. "Thanks for your help. Next time you should probably run, though," he suggested with a weak smile. "If there is a next time, I mean. I'm hoping there won't be." Ah, he was rambling. That wasn't what he'd wanted to do.

"You'll be okay though, right...?" he asked, watching the man warily as he took a few steps back from him. He couldn't stay there. He didn't want his presence attracting any more youma, or worse. There were people out there with the intention of taking energy from civilians and killing people like himself. He didn't want to put this man in that kind of danger any more than he already had been. "Good luck with your, uh... juggling thing." He still wasn't sure what the man did, but... it had something to do with juggling!

He was taking it all rather well, even the smashed screen of his phone, even the sharp sting of anti-septic against his elbow. Valhalla's parting with was greeted with a sharp grin, even as Warwick sat down to deal with whatever other scratches and scrapes he might have -- the rest of them, he could handle on his own.

So he raised a hand in a wave to the knight, shoulders rolling in a quick, brief shrug. "I tend to do pretty well, so don't worry about it. Thanks for the help!"
