Opal smiled playfully as she sniffed him. "Ewww you stink Ion go take a bath." She jokingly teased him. "Ohhh what are those? I've not had a blueberry. Can we find them please? I should like to try them." She rubbed her head against his neck as they walked. "I love you Ion."

Ion curled his neck around hers. "I love you too Opal."
"And of course we will search for the blueberries. So I went from stinking to being loved in two seconds flat? Does that mean you love my stink?"

Opal rolled her eyes then rammed against him as hard as she could sending him into the stream with a splash. "I love you any way you are." She smiled at him then pranced into the stream splashing water onto him and over herself. It was usually hot so another cool bath would not hurt at all. She giggled rubbing up against him. "You know something Ion. I'm glad I ran into you. You're funny, smart and handsome all rolled into one. You're just perfect." She smiled at him lovingly.

He was surprised at her sudden attack and impressed that she had got him into the water so easily.
"And wet too apparently, you better and that to your list and thank you."
he smiled as his mane dripped over his eyes giving him a sexy wet look. " I'm glad you ran into me too, you are beautiful, intelligent,caring, charming, witty, powerful and wonderful beyond all reason." he splooshed the water back at her vigorously.
He paused as a sudden thought occured to him. "Opal? What are we going to do when Thalli grows up. It is so nice having a foal around so we have a reason to scare the light into Tide"

Opal giggled splashing water at him. She playfully pushed him around in the water. "I kind of like the wet look." She smiled. She stopped at his next question. She blushed a bit. "I like having a foal around also." She peered into his face. "Maybe......." She blushed more brightly. "Maybe we could try for our own foals?" She squeaked out her reply in almost a whisper. She held her breath wondering what he would say to this.

Though Ion was black he still managed to blush just as deep as his white mate. "Do you think we could? Would you mind having 3 or 4 mini-Ion's running around? I certainly wouldn't mind 4 mini Opal's. And just think of the elaborate threats when they are our own foals. Not that Enthallion isn't ours now but you know what I mean." Ion tried to lighten it up for the both of them they looked like two strawberries that had just ripened.

Opal let out her held breath. "Really? You really want foals too?" She had honestly thought he would not be ready for such a thing. Not with just forming up the herd and him running it. She knew he was busy and didn't want to bother him with such wants in her life. "I can see them terrorizing Tide! I'm sure Thalli will love having foals around too. Give him someone to play with." She was as happy as a mare could be right now. She lovingly nuzzled his neck. "You're the best Ion!"

"You are too Opal." Ion hid a small tear that escaped his eye by tucking her into his chest. " I hope our children trample Tide." he grinned at her. " I think I have always wanted foals, I want to raise them properly as my parents did me. And with your guidance we will bring more happiness into the world... and more torture for my brother. I think Enthallion will make a better babysitter don't you?"

Opal stopped listening. She suddenly felt a little sick to her stomach. She moved away mumbling. "Lets head up to the mountains. I want to try those blueberries." Suddenly she felt not so sure about foals. Raise them properly as his parents had done? She couldn't remember her parents. So how was she to know what was proper? What if she screwed up? Even worse what if he left because she didn't do it right? She started up the path towards the mountains.

"Are you okay Opal? What is wrong?" he had almost physically felt the drop in her mood. What had he said. She would make the perfect mother, he wouldn't have lifemated with anyone else. he trotted up to her concerned. "Opal what did I say?" he asked, concern in his voice. "Perhaps we could think of names while we look for the blueberries, wouldn't that be fun? Do we want them to start with Dark? Only the males? Females? Neither? Will they look more like you or me? A perfect balance between both?" he tried very hard to distract her from whatever had thrown her off.

Opal let out a heavy sigh as she walked. Her thoughts her heavy and dark on her mind. She really didn't want to be a disappointment or rejected by Ion because she didn't know what was proper in raising a foal. She was doing her best with Thalli and felt at times it wasn't in the best interest for him. "How do you expect me to raise foals properly if I don't know what proper is?" She said in a strangled whisper. "I can't even remember how I was raised to even judge what is proper." She swallowed back a lump in her throat. "Will you become angry with me and leave if I make mistakes?"

"All mothers make mistakes Opal, I will too. Thali is turning out to be a polite and caring colt who would do anything for the herd and you specifically. You have turned into a kind and loving mare. Your parents may not have raised you but you did a fine job in raising yourself. I will have no other mother for my children. I will never truly leave you as my heart stays with yours no matter where I go. My patrols are lonely without you and I get grumpy if I'm away for too long. Ask Tide"

Opal looked at Ion then smiled. "Thanks. I really needed to hear that. I really don't want to mess up." She nuzzled him as they walked the path. "I miss you when you are away also." She thought a bit. "How about dark colored foals have Dark before their name." She smiled at him. "Because it would be a little silly to name a white foal Dark such and such."

"That is a good idea, would that be funny lol my little Dark Snowflake or something like that. I hope all our foals get your mane, it is soo beautiful and mine is so black." Ion made a point of messing up her beautiful mane. It stuck to his nose because it was wet and he snorted.

Opal smiled warmly. "I don't care what they look like. Just as long as they have you for a daddy I'll be content." She started up the mountain trail. "So now you know what blueberries look like so find them." She smiled at Ion. "I'm getting hungry again. This walk has made me quite hungry."
