Amrita nodded very seriously when he made the motion of silence, managing to lift her free hand to press her oddly angled index finger against her own lips in return, the books pinned to her with her elbow. She stayed as close to him as possible without being a hinderance, but with the destination being decided by Christof she was free to look around, eyeing the meat hooks and the frozen jollymeals...wow, food graveyard!
When he released her hand to drag the boxes she stayed put, hugging the books with both arms now. It took a lot for her to feel, and now she was starting to feel the cold seep in to her borrowed bones. The box made it's debut opening and Amrita shuffled forward, motioning a hard swallow before looking down into the box, and at the parts that would one day be hers.
"...These are...mine?" She whispered very low, not remembering if they still needed to be silent.

He nodded, motioning for her to examine them, lifting up a pair of arms to compare proudly just how perfectly they matched, despite coming from different sources. He didn't have much to pick from, limited to what he could find within walking distance of campus, but he was proud at what he had spent months narrowing down.

Amrita looked around, finding a place to store the two books so she could reach out and hesitantly touch the arms that Christof was holding. She didn't dare take them from him, not wanting to damage or drop them before they could be put together for her, but she had to at least touch them. These...were going to be her arms one day, hopefully one day soon.
"Th...they're beautiful..." Amrita whispered, suddenly feeling very choked up. Those arms were so much nicer than the ones she had now! And Bigger! Though she wasn't easily capable of tears, she did move her broken hand to brush under her eye, miming away a tear. Lip wibbling she looked back in the box, reaching in to brush her fingers against whatever part happened to be closest at the time; she couldn't easily tell what was what, when it was in a box.
"Th-thank you for...for doing this for me." The small ghoul said as sincerely as she possibly could.

Christof beamed, hands suddenly flickering to form words the body-snatcher probably couldn't follow but he was excited all the same, "Everything-there. Ready-whenever-I-get-Word-From-Master!" Practically humming under his breath he moved to rescue the notebook from the shelf, ready to write it out if need be before he frowned at her stutter. Was she cold? Oh, Hell's Bells, and she was barefoot too! He started to remove his jacket, but stopped with a flush. No... no need to scare her. He unwound his scarf instead, offering it out to her just in case.

She wasn't cold, but she took the offered scarf nonetheless, not really noticing that he had meant to offer her his jacket first. The Vetala stared down at the scraggly old thing, only vaguely recalling the last time he handed her the scarf; that was when this was all starting, when she was nervous about Malodore and Riley. It was only a brief and blurry recollection, really only remembering nerves and the glimpse of the scarf in her backwards hands, but it meant a lot to her nonetheless.
"Um...wh-where you signing, um, something?" She asked suddenly, tearing her gaze away from the box and the parts to look at her friend, merely hugging the scarf to her chest.

Signing- oh! Right! It had been babble, really. He shuffled the notebook open to a fresh page, sliding out the pen from it's binding before writing out simply:
Are they what you were
looking for? Still time to
make changes if you
wanted something different...
after a moment, he looked thoughtful and added,
Changes can always be made,
really. A good thing about being
a Patchwork.
He tapped the period with a bit of pride before offering the words out to her.
She wouldn't... TECHNICALLY be a Patchwork, though... it was different. Hopefully that wouldn't matter, though, right? Fear was fear. He wasn't quite sure he understood the concept of Soul, but there was something in a Patchwork that kept them together and functional, and by nature her abilities should emulate the same sort of thing, right? It made sense to him in theory, anyway.

Despite the fact that looking in the box of parts was about the same as looking at an unassembled bed in a box, she nodded after she read the first part of the note.
"Yes, they're perfect." Amrita confirmed, still sounding a little choked up at the idea. Such pretty parts...were going to be hers! So close, so close! Like Christof, she wasn't sure how the whole part thing would work for her; as it stood, no prominent parts of hers ever fell off, and she had never needed to replace anything. Stitched up wounds yes, put broken bones back into place yes, but never really switching out parts.
"Do you think...it'd be the same for me as it is for you?" She questioned him this time, glancing up at him with his scarf still hugged to her chest. Christof had fallen to pieces and put himself back together...would it be different for her?

Christof pursed his lips, but still tried to smile encouragingly as he gave a shrug. Hopefully they would... or he'd have to find her better parts... or maybe even stumble upon a fully assembled corpse that looked to her liking? But really there was no way to know for sure until they tested their theories.

Well, they were in the same boat of not knowing. That was okay, at least. Amrita stole one more glance into the box of well matched parts, and then shuffled closer to Christof, staring up at him for a moment. Then, with little warning, she threw her little arms around his neck as best as she could, even if she did have to move onto her toes to do it. The scarf remained clutched in one little hand.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She repeated, still so moved by the whole thing; if it weren't for Christof, none of this would have happened! He was the one that got Malodore and Riley into the project, he was finding her new body parts, just...it was all him, and she wasn't sure how to thank him for everything he has done and still had to do.

Christof flinched as she lunged at him, but relaxed as it dawned on him what was happening... He relaxed a bit, gingerly lifting up his more human right hand to gingerly pat her back, his face flushing. Sure, Master Barth would thank him now and then politely, or Mistress Riley would give him a pat on the head, but he had never been thanked like this before. "Hrnnn..." He shrugged under her arms, still feeling a bit surreal by the fervor of her thank you, as though saying 'it was nothing.'
It wasn't really. He liked finding parts, and the whole project had been a fun distraction. That it would mean this much to the little ghoul.... he was surprised, really.

Luckily for Christof, the hug didn't last much longer after he pat her on the back. Again she rubbed her eye to mime away tears, and she must have finally felt the cold enough to bother her, as she set to wrapping his scarf around her neck, which didn't do much for her bare legs, arm and feet. But her neck was okay!
"One day, I'll make it up to you!" She promised him, her serious face returning for a moment. She had to! It was...just proper!
"...Oh! I saw Dr. Hyde yesterday." She confided in him, looking around the freezer and then back into the box. "He said if they're any bigger than D to make a reinforced spine?" What was left of her nose wrinkled up in confusion. "Whatever that means." But Christof would know what that meant, so it was probably best to tell him.

Make it up to him? He was an Igor. You didn't make anything up to an Igor. They were just doing their job. He scuffled his boot against the frosty ground a moment, rubbing the back of his head before the name Hyde caught his attention. Brows furrowing with concern, he relaxed a little with a slight smirk at the Doctor's advice.
He had been tempted, it was true. There were a lot of good... assets at hand when he had been searching. But when it all boiled down to it, Amrita was... well, like a little sister. He wanted the best for her, but he didn't want... well. He had settled for a nice healthy C, which he quickly dove into the box to retrieve to present to her for inspection.

Amrita didn't quite understand the part she was faced with, but she nodded at it nonetheless. What it had to do with what she said was beyond her...but perhaps it had everything to do with it? She really didn't want to ask, because she had a strange sense of awkward flit through her even just looking at the part he held out to her.
"Err...very nice." She nodded, though she bit her lip and tried her best to not be so obvious about looking away. No, she was just...looking at those frost bitten things! Yes, those things, huzzah!

He reverently returned them to his box, relieved that she seemed to approve of them. That settled that worry, at least! He had spent far too much time lingering on that Part alone. Everything seemed to be in order, though, and Amrita seemed more than pleased. He drew in a deep breath, feeling full of accomplishment. It was just a matter of waiting for Malodore to be ready, he supposed! It was a marvelous experiment- there was a lot he could learn about himself as a Patchwork too, really.
She seemed finished looking, and he carefully began to pack things away again, glancing at the door a moment before tri-folding the boxes closed and started to drag them back to their hiding place once more. He wasn't sure how much longer they could get away with being stored here, but hopefully no one would turn up with an Amrita-hand-sandwich before he could collect things.

She watched him pack up her parts and put when back to where they had been hidden before. Amrita toyed with the frayed ends of his scarf, smiling a shy little smile the entire time. When everything was put away, the little ghoul wandered closer and took his hand; rather, a couple fingers on his more human hand.
"Soon, right?" She waited for him to lead her back out of the freezer, since she hadn't been paying attention to exactly how they'd gotten where they did. "I got out of Riley's body all by myself, too! I think...I think I'm ready to get out of this body, whenever the new one's done..." The other body HAD to be finished before she tried getting out! The idea of being in her natural form for too long made her feel...rather uncomfortable, actually.
