He swore he wasn't crazy psycho! He'd just been pushed to the edge and was now worrying over the smallest things. Not that breaking a rib was that small, but still.
Chris offered a smile when the waitress brought him some water, and he took a few moments to drink about half of it in one go. Maybe he should just call it a day and go home and try to sleep, if his body would let him after so much caffeine already.
"I have thought about moving," he admitted, but soon shook his head. "I can't though. There are too many people here that I feel responsible towards. My family and friends and classmates." He shrugged and then laughed lightly. "I can handle it, though. I'm not the one getting into accidents and breaking ribs." Thank goodness, because then what would he do? He didn't have baseball until spring, so if he did end up getting hurt, hopefully he'd have enough time to recover?
"If you could get out of here, though, I'm sure that'll be a big relief," he told him, lifting the glass to sip at the water again and taking a deep breath. Ah... Matthew probably did think he was crazy. Oops...

"Yeah, I can understand that... That's an huge part of why I haven't." He mused, sipping on his new glass at a rather slow pace, returning to coding a little bit now that the... crisis was over. Hopefully.
Gently would be pretty damn upset if he moved. And well, the negaverse did not take deserters kindly.
"It would be, but I don't see that happening for a few years at least."

Yes, the crisis was over... maybe...
Chris nodded and let out another small sigh, before glancing down to check his watch for the time. As nice as the break was, he knew he would have to get back to the rest of his life soon.
"Same," he told him with a small nod. "Once I'm done with college, then I'll see what to do... Heck, maybe I'll get drafted to a baseball team," he half joked, thinking that would be a wonderful prize after fighting monsters and getting his energy stolen and all that.
"I should get going, though. I've got a few more errands before I can take another break," he explained, shifting to push back his chair and stand up. He pulled out his wallet to take out a ten to place under his glass, not having anything less, but also not wanting to run out on being waited on. "Maybe I'll see you around campus this year? Just promise me you won't be getting into any other accidents, or I might flip out on you again." He laughed lightly at his own joking, before making a face at himself. "Seriously, though...." He would really like it if people stopped getting hurt...

"Ah, right, you play baseball, don't you ?" He remembered that, vaguely. It must have come up in their last conversation - his recalling was hazy on that matter, really. "Thank god this isn't middle school, you'd hate having me on your team."
Sports had never been Matthew's forte, really.
"I'll see ya then. And i'll try not to be in multiple pieces for your convinence." The last was quite obviously a joke. Matthew would rather not be in multiple pieces for his own convinence, certainly.
"Stay safe, okay ?"
