You obviously haven't heard of freedom of choice. Just because your jewish does NOT mean your "forced" to eat Jewish food. Last time I checked you can eat anything you want. rolleyes

Wear Sunscreen Okay, I think you're missing the point of the thread here? Catholicism in no way resembles 'devil-worship.' That's a really hurtful, not to mention completely unfounded, thing to say. I don't think I expressed myself clearly there. I wasn't trying to bash Catholicism. The reason I think that it's closer to devil-worshiping than Wicca is because in Wicca, there's no devil to worship. Catholics don't worship the devil either. stare Look- I grew up with Catholicism an I'm currently seeking under a Gardnerian coven- which means, unless you're not actually Wiccan, I'm in the same boat as you are. I think it's really disrespectful to do to Catholics what you dislike being said about Wicca- so please just stop. Out of curiosity, what tradition are you seeking with? This is the last I'm gonna say about the Catholicism comment; I really wasn't trying to say that Catholicism is like devil-worshiping at all. I just wanted to express how ridiculous it was to connect devil-worshiping with Wicca. >.< I'm seriously not trying to be intolerant or offensive. Anyway, I'm very early in the process, so I'm not sure if I'll ever become a full-fledged "Wiccan" (in other words, initiated in a lineaged coven). If not, I'll settle with the title, "Pagan", and stick with similar practices.

If not, I'll settle with the title, "Pagan", and stick with similar practices. There are lots of good solitary witches- but Wicca is a religion that needs a coven because of how the rituals are written and the Mysteries are experienced. 3nodding

I don't think there's that big of a Wiccan community in my area. Esiris That's fair- have you found a coven to work with yet? Nope; that's a big part of the problem. XD

I hate discrimination due to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or the like.
I babysit the kids in my apartment complex, and there is a family with 3 boys, the oldest being 12. He and his friend were talking to me and made a joke that God hated my soul. When I didn't care they asked if I believed in God and I said no, I am an Atheist. They then became frightened and asked if I worshiped the devil. I tried to explain that to worship the devil, I would have to believe in both him and God and hate God, but that as an Atheist I do not believe in God OR the devil. Now every time they see me they make jokes about how I am the spawn if Satan and not to look me in the eye. It's not that big of a deal really, but it is SUPER annoying and might affect how other families feel about me sitting for their kids, since Christianity and Mormonism are both big where I live.
They also asked me if I liked girls in a different conversation, and I said yes because I am pansexual and thus am attracted to both genders. They then asked if I was the boy or the girl in the relationship, and were purely shocked when I said that sometimes you get to feminine people or to masculine people in a relationship.
Please note: I only talk to these boys about these things because they are both almost 13. They are old enough to learn things things, and seeing as how they will be going into the real world in a few years, it's best that they do.
Discrimination sucks hairy donkey balls.

Wow what a typo, I'm terrible at that and really need to read through my posts first... yes I meant Mormonism... "Christianity AND Mormonism" to be exact. I refer to religions as the followers refer to them, and I have never heard a Mormon call them self Christian, and in fact I have been corrected for doing so. Just trying to be respectful.
