Hayes trusted that Faleen wouldn't start going through his things and trying to do his laundry the way her friend had when she'd dropped by to apologize ages ago, but it felt a bit awkward to be in a prone position as if he was some sort of invalid. The covers buckled and rumpled as the blond shifted Nemerle off his chest and started to sit up, supporting himself with an elbow. "S'alright," he assured her when she hesitated. "You can come in." He did a silent mental check of his surroundings - okay, sort of cluttered, but nothing that would seriously offend unless she'd be shocked by the revelation that he wore socks. She could come in.

Ignoring the weak, watery feeling in his muscles, the blond pulled himself up into a cross-legged sit, wrinkled his nose at the bangs in his eyes - getting long, should get a haircut soon - and brushed them out of the way. "S'nice of you," he commented, and hesitated mid-reach for the water. "Just- careful," he warned. "Don't want you to get this." Well. She'd probably wash her hands thoroughly after this; still, he was careful not to make contact as he took the bottle. It was cool and heavy in his hand, making him close his eyes for a moment to feel the change in temperature on his skin.

She was giving him something else, along with instructions to which he gave a rather obedient "Okay." It was a box of cold medication, then another.. and another.. and another. He blinked at the cardboard containers suddenly nestling in a depression in the comforter like a nest of rectangular eggs, then looked back up at Faleen. "Wow. These all yours?" he asked, with a faint grin that in healthier times would have been a half-laugh.

"Yes they are, well, most of these were given to be by Kofuku when she took up medic training" Faleen explained as she examined one of the boxes as if she had never seen it before, reading the instructions and what its used for. "They have been just kind of sitting in my bathroom drawer"
She took a slight step back, feeling a little bad for invading his aria while he wasn't feeling well, looking more disheveled then she had seen him before, though she had to hand it to him, he could probably show up to work with his hair like that, and still manage to look... whats the word...
... Presentable? No, that wasn't quite right.

She glanced up, over at him when he voiced cautious about her getting what he had, She should have probably been a little more worried, but she wasn't so much at the moment, she would just remember to take extra precautions afterwards to help her from becoming ill as well.
"I will, thank you Hayes." She reassured, with a soft smiled of appreciation.
placing the boxes down on the nearest surface she could find, and crumpling up the bag into her hands. Though her eye caught the poster on the wall as she did this, staring at it with a curious sense of vague recognition.

"Ah, right," the blond acknowledged. Kofuku, yeah. He'd forgotten she was going for medic; most details paled before the time she'd doused him with a bottle of chocolate syrup out of concern and stress over her friend, but testing out nursing on said friend sounded like the sort of thing she'd do. In which case, better check the expiration dates on these; he hadn't seen the pink-haired Rocket in over a year.

Nemerle heaved a sigh and settled herself into a comfortable position against Hayes' leg, half-lidded eyes the color of glacial ice moving languidly between the two humans in the room. The tech sorted through the boxes somewhat sluggishly, dividing them into two piles while he checked the expiration dates. From the selection, it looked like Faleen had grabbed whatever had come to hand, which didn't quite fit with his methodical image of her. Ibuprofen, yes; sudafed, good idea; birth contro- birth control? Hayes blinked, glanced up at the other agent, and quietly put that in the pile with the children's chewable vitamins and the benadryl. She'd probably want that back.

Switch poked his head out when he heard the ibuprofen box torn open, then retreated back under the conforter when he saw the pills being shaken out. Disappointing all around - Hayes hadn't even shared his ramen this time, and now he was eating stale jellybeans with water - sour ones, from the face he made as he swallowed them whole.

After a few more swigs of water, Hayes looked up, and looked better - at least, not so dull-eyed as he had before, though he'd need a couple good naps and some quality time with a hairbrush before he'd be going anywhere. "You like Doctor Whom?" he asked, noting Faleen's interest in the poster. It looked like this wasn't the first wall it had seen; tiny bits of old tape were caught on the corners, as if it had been put up once before and taken down.

Faleen, being completely oblivious to the fact that she had anything other then a few different kinds of cold remedies and vitamins, letting him pick out what he wanted to use, in case he had any allergies, or something that didn't work with the symptoms he had.

When he asked her a question though, before she could excuse herself from his room.
"Ah, thats why it looks familiar. I haven't seen much no, some of my classmates used to watch it, though." She gestured to the poster "I remember that being a reoccurring image to pop up among the robotics community."
She glanced over, eyes sopping the figure that he had sitting by its self.
"... That I do recognize though. Tranformon right?" She walked over to it, leaning forward a little to get a closer look, but kept her hands folded behind her back, not touching it. "The design on these have always been very impressive"

There was a girl in his room acting interested in his stuff. If he was fourteen he would have exploded.

As he was fully twenty-five and preoccupied with a head cold, Hayes sat back once he'd finished sorting the medication into two piles - his and.. the other one, settling his weight into the pillows stacked against the headboard. It turned the persistent ache in his back muscles from painful to mildly pleasant. "Doesn't surprise me; the show's been around since my dad was a kid. Mm-" He swallowed the mouthful of water he'd just taken and nodded, interest lighting his features despite his lackluster condition.

"Yeah, that's Wheeljack. He was my favorite. Here-" He reached over and lifted the figure off the shelf. It looked like it had seen a lot of activity; the decals were faded and scuffed away at the edges, the wheels looked like they'd been rolled across a sidewalk more than a few times, and there was a faint blue line across the white plastic where someone had scribbled on it in washable marker years back. A name had been written on the bottom of one foot in crooked letters and permanent laundry marker.

Hayes folded this part of the toy in here and swung that bit out there in a practiced sequence, handling the figure with care. A few seconds later it was offered back to Faleen, now a race car with green and red striping. "See?"

As Hayes reached over to take the action figure up, Faleen straightened as well, shifting to watch what he was doing better, a light tilt of her head, eyes glancing from up at him, to the process of the toy's transformation.
Until it was finished, and the car held out to her.

With a hand that was trained to be careful around certain objects, Faleen reached out, to gently take the action figure from him. turning the arm for over in her gloved fingers, sliding the tips gently along the edges of the toy's car form, looking over the build of the toy.
"I remember being fascinated by the idea of the show, and i enjoyed when i did get the chance to watch it." she smiled, looking into the underside of the car.
"I remember I used a couple of the action figures as references for a few robot designs when I was younger."
She smiled at this, turning the Wheeljack back over on its front. a finger sliding over the blue mark on its chassis.
"This one seems well loved." It was very apparent, he had had it for a long time.

Something on it caught her eye, turning its over to look at the rest of the robot that was mostly visible at the bottom, noticing the writing on the foot.
"Alex?"

"Heh. No TV?" Hayes guessed, glancing up to make brief eye contact as he asked. His gaze soon settled back on the Transformon, watching Faleen handle the twenty-year-old toy. His inner seven year old appreciated the conscientious way she was treating his possession. An older part of him noted the length of her fingers - slender but capable as they studied the molded plastic.

"Yeah," he agreed to the well-loved comment, a fond expression finding its way through the haze of illness that dulled his reactions. "You couldn't buy that one - had to send off for him, so." The blond grinned at a memory. "Six to eight weeks is forever. But the character was an inventor - he'd make all this crazy stuff, and I thought it was the coolest thing. Probably got me started on A.I. - the idea of a thinking machine, I mean. I wanted to make a real one." Nemerle twitched her ears as he laughed, possibly at the naive notion of being able to create a truly sentient program in a transforming chassis. "Figured I'd find something like the Allspark."

"Ah, yeah." A sheepish grin flickered at the corners of his mouth, and he bent his head to brush a strand of hair out of the way. "When my sister started walking I put my name on all my stuff. The blue was her," he added, with a rueful tone that probably hadn't been near as good-natured when the incident had actually happened.

"I've got the whole series on my computer," he found himself saying. "If you want-" He stopped mid-sentence as something interrupted his thought process, and had another drink of water.

Faleen's glance also shifted up to catch his, before humming softly, and shaking her head. "Just seldom had the time," She answered, "We were usually off, doing something for the day, when not at School."
Her and her sister were always getting to do something, they had many opportunists, and kept busy with not only learning new things, but having lots of fun experiences. Either with their mother, uncle, family friends, or hired help.
"The times I did watch it... I had feeling similar to what you just mentioned." She smiled at that.

Reaching a hand up to put a hand on her chest, as she paused to clear her throat, before she tried to talk again,
swallowing after to help relax her throat a little.
It still hurt from the day before, and talking proved to irritate it more.
She did not let this bother her though, or otherwise let on that she was even hurt.

She lowered her hand again, looking back down at the toy in her hand as Hayes explained who the character was. Sounded very fitting.
She could tell how part on it would move, to let it transform, but she refrained from tugging at any of the parts.

She seemed to be learning a lot of things about him. catching on that he mentioned a little sister.
So he has siblings to, or at least one.
"ah,I see" Faleen said, a little knowingly. Little sisters...
"got a hold of something you didn't want her to." She knows how that works.

Something he said to answer one of her questions drew a sharp glance up at him, blinking a couple of times in surprise. "Alex is you then? Your name is Alex?"
Eyebrows arched.
Well... not that she actually thougth about it, Hayes was more of a last name but still... a year of knowing him, and several months of working with him, and she just now learns his first name... she was surprised in herself that she never actually considered it before.
He had always just been Hayes.

Her surprise mellowed though, derailed by what had started to sound like... an offer for something?
He hadn't really finished what he was saying, having trailed off, but she could assume what he was asking.
Her own assumption was maybe that he would let her borrow the files? Or something along those lines. She waited for him to finish, but when he didn't, her head tilted slightly "Perhaps once you are feeling better."

"We?" Hayes found himself asking, tilting his head a curious fraction. It made sense, her younger self being so busy. It didn't really make sense why, but he could see that - and when she described her reaction to the show, he made an amused noise, not quite a chuckle. He could see that too.

Maybe she had a sister of her own, from how quickly she filled in the gaps in that story. The speed of it made him laugh - which he followed with a wince and a hand to his own throat. "Yeah," he grinned a bit ruefully, regretting he wasn't in a better state to talk. "She did that a lot-"

Hayes broke off at her question, brows raised in confusion for a moment by her surprise - then smiled. It might have been his being under the weather, or a remnant of the sleep he'd been in, but at that moment there was a greater clarity in his expression.

"Yeah," he repeated, more quietly than before. "My name's Alex."

"Hayes is a last name," the blond explained, and then the water went down - harder than he'd have liked. There was a silence while he closed his eyes until he made sure - yes, all right, he could breathe - and had a smaller, more careful sip than the last. "Probably a good idea," he agreed. "I'll put it on a flash drive or something for you." The tech looked back down at the bottle - almost empty - and finished the last, but the furrow in his brow didn't quite erase itself. He'd been about to ask.. something.

At his side Nermerle heaved another long sigh, curling and uncurling her paws.

'We?'
The single word, indicating a question confused Faleen at first, not sure why he was asking that, but it didn't take her long to understand what statement it was following.
Faleen had said "we" didn't she.
She paused for a few seconds, a little startled with the reolization that she had led a conversation to mentioning her family, or her past life.
She did it before, yeah, but she tried to not make a habit of it, and this time around she hadn't even been thinking about it.
"Ah, that would be... my family." She answered.
This wasn't what he was asking though, of course it was obvious she meant her family, and by saying that she knew it was probably insulting the other Agent's inelegance, and she certainly didn't wish to do that. But she also didn't want to talk about her family.

She blinked, as he confirmed that he indeed have a first name. She felt like she was being introduced to him all over again. this time, Alex Hayes.
She returned his smile, with a soft smile of her own, head tilting to the side a little.
"I feel a little silly for not catching onto that earlier, and I've known you for how long?" She made a soft hum of amusement. "Well, Alex then. I assume you just prefer to go by your last name."

It was an interesting bit of information, knowing his first name, but for all she knew, there was a reason he went by Hayes, maybe the reason she never included her last name in any form of introduction of in conversation.

Reaching out to hand him back his action figure.
"I look forward to it, some positive nostalgia." She said with a smile,

Her gaze followed his down to the bottle he had, already nearly finished, and she was reminded that he was still sick.
"I should go, let you rest." She said.

There was a small but significant pause, then a rough "Ah." Hayes smiled over the top of his lenses at Faleen in unoffended understanding. "I got it," he assured her, pushing his glasses up as he let the subject drop.

"Heh. Don't worry about," the tech grinned, hazel eyes narrowed in good-natured amusement. "There's only like.. five people who call me that, and none of them are here. I mean," he continued with a shrug and a wave of the empty water bottle over Nemerle's head, "It's not a secret or anything, it's right there in my file - so I don't mind. It's whatever you want."

Huh, he reflected in the pause. Her eyes were hazel too.

And she was saying she should go.

"Uh- yeah," he agreed, remembering not to touch her as he took the old toy back. "Probably a good idea." He could feel his fever coming back, and if he wanted to get anything done tomorrow he'd need to sleep now. "But hey, listen-" Hayes absently curled a loose grasp around the plastic figure, eyes on the agent who'd taken the time out of her day to make up for his being woefully unprepared. "-you didn't have to do this, and it was really nice of you, so.. I appreciate it."

"Thanks."

He didn't pry, and silently, she was thankful for that. Talking about her past, let alone her family wasn't something she particularly took enjoyment in.
If it was bothering her though, she didn't let on. just a polite smile, and let the topic drop.

"I see, Hayes just seemed to stick." She noted, and it was true, she never second guessed it. Alex was a good name though, she could see him as an Alex.
She noticed that it seemed to put him in a... more casual light then she had previously saw him in, very professional before. Just knowing for sure his first and last name.
Interesting how that seemed to work.

She gave him a polite smile at this thanks, and shook her head. "It wasn't any trouble. You are part of the team." In more ways then one, Not only was he a Rocket, he was a techy

She walked over to pick up the pile that looked like he didn't need. and let him keep the ones he picked.
"Lets go Umbreon." She told the pokemon, who's ears did perk up a little at the though of leaving.
Red eyes flashing around the room, and landing on Hayes for a few seconds, staring... before he trotted quickly after his master.
"Hope to see you back at the department soon."
She told the Agent, with a small smile before letting herself out.

Arms crossed over her chest as she stepped into the hall, and continued on in the direction of her own room.
