"I can see no reason to stop you from attending." She said after brief consideration. For one thing this was his herd more than it was hers. She still thought herself as much of an outsider as before but that wouldn't stop her from taking action. For another thing she imagined his presence there would make the herd members actually follow her instructions without the need of beating them into place.

"You could even help if you ever felt like it." She wouldn't say it, but she very much hoped that he would participate in addition to watching. The herd was enormous. If they had been trained by instructors as she had it would take probably a half dozen to do a proper job of it. Thankfully she'd be mostly focusing on any foals where she was less likely to encounter many stubbornness issues. "I suspect that you know a thing or two yourself if you've been training a few already."

"I'd love to help," said Haya. "You'd have to give me some sort of notion of lesson plan, though. It sounds like you do things a lot differently than I do." He was genuinely looking forward to learning her techniques and becoming involved. It was a new direction for the herd and one he hoped they would embrace. They weren't terribly fond of violence, but he thought that after the skinwalker attacks lately they might understand the necessity.

"There are a couple pregnant mares in the group, too," he mentioned thoughtfully. "There are at least two, possibly another." He had heard rumors that one of Capriccia's friends was pregnant and thinking about coming to Padmapani to raise the children. They could possibly be in for one of the biggest baby booms the herd had ever experienced!

Revyra could honestly never remember a time that she felt so excited over hearing about a pregnancy. In fact, she couldn't ever remember caring about them before. Now that they would be providing her with some true purpose for her skills she could only just contain herself. There was no mistaking the excited gleam in her golden eyes though, nor the way her feathers rustled. For a brief moment she wondered if pregnancy could be sped up before mentally slapping herself for the foolish thought.

When she finally began to speak again her voice was as even as ever. "I'll train them once they're old enough then." She replied with a nod of her head. "As for the how..." She paused thinking about it and her words trickled out as she thought them, "It...really depends...on the group..." Another nod of her head. "One group may need more help on developing observation skills. Another may need a lot of work in discipline. One thing I can say for sure is...we're going to need a lot of trees." Glancing around she hardly thought that would be a problem. There were trees everywhere. The students would need something to practice on that wasn't another student or her.

Haya gave a slight smile at the expression on Revyra's face. For a stoic mare given to few shows of emotion, he considered her anticipatory look to an outburst of enthusiasm. She really seemed eager to train the children and he only hoped that he could convince the parents that it was a good idea. Given how pacifistic most of the herd was, it might be a tough sell to make. He would leave solving that problem for later. He resolved to talk to his mother about it. She was better with persuasion than he ever had been.

"... Wait, what?" What she had said finally registered. "What about trees? Why are they going to need trees?" He blinked in confusion as he tried to imagine what she would use them for. Was she going to fashion weapons for them? Haya had seen soquili fighting with swords and other human things but it always seemed unwieldy to him. Any sort of carpentry that another soquili might manage was utterly beyond the scope of Haya's imagination. He had never considered trees to be useful beyond giving shade in the heat of the sun.

Revyra pulled drew head back slightly her eyes crinkling in confusion at Hayagriva's own confusion. Why wouldn't they need trees? Did he actually want the children to spar against each other right off the bat? An eyebrow slowly inched upward as she regarded him in disbelief before she finally reminded herself why she'd suggested training in the first place. This was a peaceful herd. Training was a fairly foreign concept. It wasn't like her home where most of the territory was dedicated to various practices.

She shook her head and restored her usual calm expression. "Sorry, I forgot where I was for a minute. We need the trees for them to practice on. They're a good solid target so they'll last but they're soft enough to mark when hit. They're useful for getting everyone used to the basics so when they start to practice with each other there won't be as many injuries and there shouldn't be any serous ones."

There would be injuries, she wasn't going to pretend otherwise. The foals would end up with bumps and bruises, cuts and scrapes but with any luck none of them would go limping off with busted jaws or shattered legs. The herd had some fine healers, that Revyra could not deny, but she was still in doubt of exactly how much they could fix.

Until that moment, Haya had never considered trees to be very effective in fighting practice. He knew Revyra to be very knowledgeable and skilled in the art of combat so didn't doubt the strategy, it was simply an unfamiliar one to him. He recalled back to a time when he had found Malchediel, a unicorn pupil of his, mock fighting against a tree. The young stallion had stabbed at the tree with his horn and had almost gotten himself stuck in the impaled oak. Haya had found the practice amusing at the time but now realized the stallion may have had the right idea.

"Good plan," he mused thoughtfully. "It would save the upset feelings I've had sometimes when someone kicked too hard." More than one soquili had scampered off sniffling after one of his self-defense sessions. He tried his best to keep them from hurting each other but sometimes things got out of hand. It was tough to try to teach them the skills they needed when the only person they didn't have to hold back with was himself.

"We have a lot of trees around here, so that shouldn't be a problem."

"I think hurt feelings are probably the least of my worries..." She muttered half to herself. It was probably the worst attitude to have when dealing with foals. Foals were generally delicate. Most of them didn't fully understand concepts like sucking it up. At least not until they were properly introduced to them. Revyra, unfortunately, had not dealt closely with foals for years. She had all but forgotten what they were like.

"Would you mind if I left now?" She asked. "I want to find a good training ground so I can make sure it's prepared." She was jumping the gun a bit. There weren't any foals running around yet. Still, fate favored the prepared. When foals did start showing up, and in a herd this size there could be mothers secretly expecting already, she wanted to be ready for them. "It could take some time and while I am searching you can convince the mares that this is a good idea. I trust you'll be able." In fact, Revyra would be surprised if he was unable to. He was an intelligent stallion. She respected that in him and that extended to the stallion himself. He wouldn't let her down.

Haya wondered if she'd still say that hurt feelings were the least of her problems after she'd heard the wailing racket that Bodhisattva made when her feathers were damaged, or if she had to deal with one of Glissando's explosive huffs that he had when he lost too many bouts in a row. At least she'd only be dealing with foals. Foals might have tantrums but they were easier to deal with than adult tantrums. Adults always thought they knew better and didn't take kindly to being told to knock it off.

"Go ahead," he told her. "Happy searching." He could see the allure in scouting around the forest, even on a less productive mission. "Hmh..." He snorted with amusement. "I'll go talk to the pregnant mares and see which ones of them will let us teach their children." He cocked his head and glanced at Revyra with one bemused gray eye. "One of them carries a sword. I don't think she'll be hard to convince." He hadn't the foggiest notion how a soquili could possibly use a human weapon but had utter faith that the mare could be dangerous when needed.

"A sword?" That was a human weapon. Why did a horse have a human weapon if there was no human around to use it? She shrugged it off. This herd was an odd one and she didn't imagine that a sword wielding horse would be the strangest thing she would encounter. If running around with a human weapon somehow made the mare easier to convince then so be it. She could have her sword and Revyra could have her pupils.

"Well then. I'm off." She said with a curt nod before walking off into the woods. "You'll see me again once I find a place." Unless of course he went looking for her again before that time. It was hard to know exactly what was coming her way. This place had a way of being completely unpredictable.

Perhaps that was why she wanted to stay.
