You believe what other people tell you. But let me tell you that everyone thinks differently. And that phrase "Be who you want to be." is very true. If you really want to change then you will change.

If you want to get epistemological, everything is just a story, and what is 'true' are the stories we actually believe. If I believe that I am a solipsist, then you are nothing more than some creation of my subconscious and perhaps I'm just a brain in a jar. So let's not go down the 'nothing is really true you just believe what you want to' road.

And the 'be who you want to be' does not really apply to this sort of thing. Do I like the fact my hair is turning grey at age 20? No. Can I just, will it turn blond again? Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Sexuality is even more complex than hair color. You can't just deprogram it.

"And the 'be who you want to be' does not really apply to this sort of thing. Do I like the fact my hair is turning grey at age 20? No." I was talking about the person you want to be. Not your physical body. But like I said, everyone is different. and everyone thinks differently.

I guess you don't get the part where your sexuality is an immutable, physical manifestation of sexuality - not an element of your personality.

Believe what you want to believe and I'll believe what I want to.

Okay, then I believe you are secretly a four headed purple dragon with bedazzled skin that breathes green fire.

Sadly I can't empathize, because I am pansexual and thus attracted to both genders. But i do know that it is frustrating to have people not unerstand and accept you the way you are. A while back i was dating a boy and when i had the guts to tell him I was bi (he was Mormon and thus against this, also it was before I discovered I was pan), and all he could say was "Aw really? That's too bad, it's just not natural..."
Yeah not pleasing in the least.
You've just got to accept that some people may not understand, and also try and be an amazing example and proof that you truly are yourself, and not let others hinder you :]

So I'm really upset right now because a guy asked me out on a date yesterday and I had to tell him I'm a lesbian. Telling people doesn't bother me since I'm very open about it, but it was frustrating when he kept pushing "why don't you try again, won't you change for me?" As if I can change! And then an ex boy friend from two years ago did pretty much the same thing... Telling me that I was lying and that he knew I wasn't a lesbian.

I'm sorry, I'm just really frustrated right now and need to rant crying

I'm really sorry about your situation. I wish I could beat the guy up for you.... but that would be awkward.... (゚д゚)

Guys like that are assholes. Dx And they don't know what the word, "NO," means.

Quote:
"why don't you try again, won't you change for me?"

Wowwww, a guy you just met is asking you to change for him already? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's what I find ridiculous. Guys need to know that us girls AREN'T GONNA CHANGE FOR NO ONE!! Grrrr!!! Take it or leave it! Same goes for homosexuals (pan and bi, etc too!). People shouldn't change for other people! Unless of course, you have a serious addiction that is harmful to your mentality and body.... then you need to change your ways. lol

OR OR OR... you want to change for the ONE YOU LOVE! Then it's okay to change, because it's your decision.

I think this situation just bothered me more since it was the first time I've ever had to deal with my sexuality in that way. I'm used to being asked why, but I've never had someone try to "fight" for me, and ask for ridiculous things.

It was also upsetting because I was reminded of when I came out and all of the awful jokes and what not people put their 2 cents into. gonk

You should have told him to get a sex change and then maybe you'd consider it. xD Seriously, when people say wildly offensive/crazy things to you, strike back. Turn their crazy back on them. They might think twice next time.

Really though, what an annoying person. >:C I'm sorry you had to put up with that.

sry, but y would u want to...?

Wow.... that reminds me of this guy at the bus stop. I just met the dude and he started hitting on me and when I told him I was gay he asked if it was because guys had done me wrong or some weird crap like that, then he said, "well I can do all the stuff that a girl would do to do." I just met the ******** guy! I wanted to barf. anyway, he wasnt getting the picture and he thought that he could just fix me or something, so I know how you feel on that.

See the problem is some guys think that there's a "reason" why we're lesbians so they think they can reverse it with their egos of manhood. Can't change that, can only try to ignore them as best you can. don't ever feel pressured to change if its something that you don't want to do. No matter who's pressuring you to do what. If it feels wrong to you, don't do it.

Thirded. There's nothing wrong with any kind of sexuality, so I don't understand why anyone would want to change theirs. Unless they didn't feel safe, of course, but then I'd argue that they need to change their environment before they try to change themselves.

(also off topic but Cheez, your hair is amazing)

yeah but then the weirdest thing happened that ill never understand. When he asked how long I was gay and I said since birth he literally got up, apologized and then walked away... it was so weird...
