Yue didn't continue the subject either, since she didn't really care about the past now that it was over, and all the patience had paid off. Turned out as soon as she stopped reaching out to him, he reached out to her. Not that she had ever told anyone, even Jianyu, what she actually felt. It had been pretty easy to guess, though; Ehuang was a clever woman, that Yue knew, and it was formidable. The way that Ehuang looked straight through her reminded her of her own mother; Yowai often gave her such clever looks too.

It was still good to know that Ehuang had been aware all along. Although Yue suspected, given her experiences with the family in the past. Watching his family pester him, and make him reply the way he did, made Yue feel like she could take it easy on that front-- at least for a little while. So that was doubly incentive not to keep the topic going.

Most of the conversation from that point on passed in a blur. Yue contributed what was necessary, and very little else; she was normally very talkative, but she was definitely feeling sleepier the more they talked. What a long day... Yue Lao could hardly wrap her mind around the fact that the day in which Jianyu had woken her for a walk was the same one in which he had proposed, and they had subsequently told both sets of parents. Telling Jianyu's family had been considerably more chaotic, but Yue didn't regret that. She looked forward to the day when she could count herself officially as part of the family.

Yue had started to drift off when Jianyu's words woke her. She mumbled her agreement, and was about to try to wake herself up more so that she could say goodbye to everyone when Ehuang had them pause. Yue tugged on her braid, thinking, and watching Ehuang take an object from the cabinet. She had no idea what it could be, and peered into Jianyu's hand. A key..?

She closed the space between herself, Jianyu and his mother to squeeze them both in a hug. She then hugged Liwei, and took a step back, bowing to his parents. "I was just wondering what we would do about that," Yue admitted, maintaining the bow to hide the worst of her blushing. She didn't really know how to thank Ehuang, in that moment. It was an incredibly generous gift. Yue straightened out of her bow and returned to Jianyu's side, slipping her arm around his. "If I had the words to thank you, I would," Yue apologized, with a shake of her head, and a wry smile.

"I'm sure I'll find a way, someday," Yue Lao added, and then stretched. "In the mean time... I think Jianyu was right, and we'll have to go for now. Thank you, until I can find a way to show it, for everything."

They took the time to say goodbye, and would likely see his parents again soon, given preparations had only just started.
