Daichi grinned like a fool. 'That comes off?' He said, playfully echoing her question about his sleeves. Then he started chomping on his meal. It wasn't the most delicious fish he'd had, but it was still tasty. If being raised in the desert all her life with one fox meant she didn't know certain things, Dai wondered if Euphemia knew how pretty she really was.

It didn't take him long to finish the part of the fish, so he simply waited patiently for her to finish. 'You know...I could teach you to swim if you want. It's a useful skill.' he offered.

"So it does." She mused, blinking at him. That was a joke? She offered a small laugh, using her tail to hold her scarf down , watching him eat. Were men always so.....hungry all the time? The way he ate reminded her of her cousin, causing her to hum slightly. Ah, her cousin. She could still remember him. A good man and guardian. Perhaps not all men were suspicious?

When she finished she noticed he had been waiting, looking up at him and tilting her head. Her eyes blinked at the comment, eyes flicking to the ocean, then him. "Why is it so useful?" She asked curiously, scooting away from the water even more. "Doesn't it just.....carry you away?"

Aha! Daichi knew Euph could laugh! He celebrated the small accomplishment mentally while figuring out the best possible way to respond. 'Nope, not where it's shallow anyway. Sometimes it can, but like I said the ocean is slow and gives warnings, so only foxes who overjudge how good a swimmer they are stay where it's growing stronger.'

'If you fall into a lake or ocean and you can swim, you'll survive and not sink to the bottom and drown and stuff. I promise we won't go in any deeper than you feel comfortable in, first sign of a current I'll pull you out. How about it? It's really not that scary once you get used to it.'
And with that he jumped to his feet, giving her the best sad-puppy eyes he could manage. He really hoped she'd say yes, in fact he was trying to send the words 'say yes' to her telepathically...which might not be working

She considered it quietly from where she was, glancing about. If she did swim, she'd need to put something heavy on her scarf. Her eyes flicked over in time to catch his puppy-dog stare, rolling her eyes and grumbling lowly. God dammit, was she really going to fall for such a look?

The answer was seeming to be yes.

"Fine. However, no funny stuff. I swear, I bite." She warned, standing and lifting her scarf, looking about for a large shell or rock to put on-top of it. This boy was going to be the death of her, she knew it!

Dai made an X motion over his heart/ chest area 'Cross my heart, promise' he said. Wow, the look worked for once. If he'd been a dog, his tail would be wagging, but he was a fox so...

'How do you know I don't get a kick out of being bitten?' He teased, reffering to what she'd said about biting earlier. Darting out of the way before she could swat at him or something he stood where the waves washed against the shore and waited patiently. This was gonna be so fun!

With a low sigh, she did try and swap at him, amused slightly when he darted away before she could hit him. Her eyes rolled, flicking her tail. "Fine, I won't bite you. I'll just wrap my scarf around your paws and leave you." She mused lightly, following him at a steady pace. She stopped by the water, looking at the male with slight hesitation.

"Are you sure it's....safe?" She asked, guard lowering enough just to look at the male with a raised eyebrow and lowered ears. Yes, she was worried, and she was true to her feelings. Always would be.

Daichi chuckled 'Hey, now. And here i was thinking you were the sweetest fox around' he joked, amused at what an idiot she must think he was. Yes, he knew how water distressed her, but it wasn't going to make it any easier if he made such a big deal out of it.

He dropped down in the shallows in front of the vixen 'You can just dip your paw in first if you want. You'll be right, I won't let anything bad happen to you.' He tuned to the ocean and 'spoke' to it 'hear that water? do something nasty and imma get you so bad!' Turning back around he gave Euphemia a goofy smile.

Approaching the water, Euphemia touched it lightly with a paw, ears flipping backwards. She took a step backwards, about to say this was stupid, then he spoke to the water. He really was an idiot...wasn't he? Though maybe it wasn't to bad. Anyways, if this idiot could swim....so could she. She padded into the water, only going as far as the water hitting right above her legs, and looked at him.

".....Do explain how you'll get the water." She mused dryly, however her lip twitched almost into a smile. It was amusing to see him bicker with the water, she had to admit. Perhaps his humor was what kept her from just leaving this whole swimming idea.

Way to go Euph! Not so bad is it? He cheered when she went in. Genious fox -1, ocean-0. Maybe now she'd see how fun playing in the sea could be. He was out a little father than her, the ocean lapping at his shoulders. He swam towards her, sure he could walk but where was the fun in that?

When he got close enough he drifted, now side by side with the vixen. 'hmm, I actually don't know, maybe get a human sucker-thing?' He said, not actually knowing where that would have left him if Euphemia changed her mind. 'But don't tell the ocean that' he added with a wink

Euphemia blinked at the nickname, though didn't refuse it. Instead she just rolled her eyes and even played along. Oh how amused her cousin would be. "Shut it, Dai." She watched him swim over, even trying to do the same and failing, pulling it off by just flipping her hair (which was now wet) and scowling.

"Human sucky thingy?" She mused, perplexed but letting it go. She watched him, and yes, she was sortaaaa jealous. As a desert fox she never needed to learn how to swim... until apparently he popped up. Ugh. Daichi.. what a strange man.

Daichi's response was to spash her a little. She seemed to be going well, scince she'd never done this before. He then studied her for a bit before finally saying 'Ok, let's get swimming! It's easy, really, just make a digging motion with your front legs and a kicking motion with your back' He demonstrated for her.

'Here, this'll help you get used to it.'
he said and before she could say no, ducked down and heaved her onto his back. He silently thanked the dieties that water made everything lighter or he may not have been able to pull it off. He'd seen humans holding others while they learned to swim, so why not try it this way?

(( He's so dead... -.-))

(( Oh my! ))

He splashed her, causing her to flick her tail to cause a wall of water to drench him. "Easy for you to say." She grumbled as he mentioned it being easy, using her paws to try and keep herself up, failing. Daichi moved closer and she moved back, thinking he'd suddenly dunk her. No no no. He was not. No! And then he vanished.

"Daichi?" Then he lifted her, lifted a yelping, startled, drenched desert fox. "What the hell?! Put me down!" Of course her cheeks turned a bright red. When he spoke she merely hid her face with her tail. "O-Okay." Was she blushing?! Shut it! She did start to paddle, just to make sure Daichi didn't notice her stuttering.

Dai just laughed when she started yelping like a hurt puppy. 'Go ahead, yell louder, i don't need my hearing anyway.' he joked, thorougly enjoying himself.
Of course, he was getting drenched from all the splashing around, so opening his mouth a lot might not be such a good idea. Seawater was some nasty-tasting stuff.

His cheeks started to turn a little pink at the vixens closeness. No, he shouldn't get carried away. It was just to help her. Only that. He opened his mouth to say something, and ended up with salty water in it. Yuck! 'Think you got the hang of it yet? Not that i object to this~' He mused, only after he got rid of the taste. Being patient and caring didn't always mean he couldn't have a little fun.

"I hope you don't!" She snapped back, though still blushing. Idiot idiot idiot! The second he mentioned her being able to do it herself she realized she had been focusing so hard on not blushing that she hadn't tried really, so she began to paddle. When she felt like she had done enough she grumbled softly, nodding.

"Maybe." She said, rolling her eyes. "I'll make you regret this when I learn how to swim." She decided on, tail flicking in the water. Wait, her tail helped her keep herself steady! Maybe she didn't need Daichi after-all.

With a quick 'You'll never know if you don't try!' Daichi hefted her off of his back, plonking her in the water. Tough he wasn't completely reckless, making sure she wouldn't hurt herself and standing close in case she needed to grab onto something.

He stared at her for a long moment -maybe too long for comfort. Really? He needed to get it together. 'Should i start running now?' He said, winking at her before darting off. 'Come and get me desert-girl!' He called out. Now we'd see how much she really learned.
