"F-fine." She called back, removing the map from her face to wipe the blood away from under her nose.
No, no she wasn't. If she didn't do something, there was a good chance she'd be walking around like an idiot for days.
"... I am lost." Riyo finally admitted, turning around, but glancing off to the side to avoid eye contact with the dragon. "Can you... Show me around?" It took great pains to push the question out of her mouth, made clear by her furrowed eyebrows and defeated look.

Waiting for his response, Jericho was a bit surprised when Riyo actually admitted she needed help. His expression softened a bit at that and he went up so that he wasn't like thirty feet away from the girl.
"Sure thing," he nodded with a faint smile. Now that wasn't so hard was it? The way the girl looked right now made it seem like it really was that hard. In any case, he wasn't about to rub it in. The dragon just went along with it normally as if she hadn't been so adamant about it earlier on.
"Is there a particular area you wanted to see first?" he offered.

Riyo couldn't help but be relieved when Jericho didn't rub it in. That would've been ALL she needed to make her first days a disaster.
"Um..." Thinking at his question, the feline's tail swayed in a rhythmic motion. "There's a library, right?" She hadn't gotten a chance to see it at open house, but a lot of the people mentioned it as they passed. Surely a school like this would have a fair section of books.

"Yeah, it's over this way," Jericho nodded while motioning for her to come along. His mood had lightened now that she wasn't being so stubborn about getting help and whatnot. As far as this little tour went, he figured he'd start with the library and then go on to show her around in a circle. Or something to that effect.
"If there's other spots you wanna see, let me know and I'll keep it in mind."
After all, there was a chance he'd miss something. He wasn't exactly a professional tour guide and all.
The library wasn't too far off from where they were, so it didn't take long before he paused in front of the building, motioning for the girl to go on ahead.

Silently, Riyo followed the dragon as he led her towards what she hoped would be the library. It was the first and only thing on her mind. Books were how she spent a lot of her time, and she didn't see that changing any time soon.
When Jericho stopped in front of the building, Riyo paused and looked up at it before reluctantly opening the door and walking in
Immediately her eyes scanned the area. At first, it was obvious she was unimpressed by the ground level of the interior... But when she looked up...
Riyo's jaw dropped at the sight of a limitless shelf, thousands upon thousands of books occupying them. It was like the few times she celebrated her birthday, only better.
"Wow..." She whispered. The feline had seen huge selections of books... But it had nothing on this.
With her tail giving a small wag, she approached the shelves and started to examine the covers more closely, recognizing a few books she had read and seeing even more she hadn't.

Jericho went on in after Riyo, giving a look around himself. There were a few times where he had stopped inside the library, himself. The book selection was definitely impressive, but he just had to keep himself in check when in this area. He had to definitely try to reign in his temper lest he end up destroying a ton of these books.
Reading wasn't something he did for pleasure like a number of other students, but there were times where he'd pick something up for research or for some other reason.
"Yeah, pretty big isn't it?" the dragon commented while looking on around.

"It's.. Huge." She couldn't help but admit, glancing around the different sections with a vivid interest.
"Hey. You can fly... Have you ever reached the top of the shelves?" She asked curiously, glancing over only momentarily before spotting the section she'd been looking for.
Riyo loved books. Books that taught her new things, recalled history, and told stories of the lives of interesting people... But there was something the feline liked even more than those.
Fiction. Fantasy books from the imaginative minds that had no limits on their creativity. It was a secret affair, so she'd only browse the section now. But... The feline already saw some she'd like to check out.

Briefly, Jericho tilted his head but then nodded to the feline student.
"I have. Just gotta be careful to not knock stuff over and whatnot," he said, "Sometimes it's better to just use the ladders they have, for the more cramped spots and all."
If the wind didn't blow stuff around, his wings could easily knock books off the shelves and whatnot if he wasn't careful and all.
While she browsed, the dragon idly looked through the books as well.
"I take it you enjoy reading then?"

Well, it may not have been limitless, but it was still huge.
At his question, Riyo nodded. "I've been reading since I was about five." She commented in a matter-of-fact tone, though there didn't appear to be any bragging with it. "Good way to pass the time." Especially when you refused the company of everyone but cats.
"Any other interesting places around this school?" She asked quietly, eyes still glued to the covers.

Well Jericho couldn't argue with that. It wasn't really his thing to read a lot outside of comics but he knew there were plenty of people who enjoyed reading normally. Mal and Riley were two examples of this. Though, at her question, he took a moment to think what was around campus.
"Well there's the clubhouses and the main gym... though it's currently locked down right now for some reason," he started, "There's also Breck's shed I guess, if you don't mind a little bit of danger. He keeps some good things in there if you can get past all the traps, though."
Thinking it over a little more, he added, "A few of the classrooms are kinda interesting too I guess. A number of them don't have a conventional layout... Then again, there isn't a lot about this school that's conventional. Otherwise, the other points of interest are in the town nearby."

Finally tearing her eyes away from the books, Riyo listened to Jericho as he named off places. While it all sounded good and fun, there was a question she wanted to ask him. She wasn't sure why, but..
"What's your favorite place at this school?" Normally the feline didn't give a scrag's a** about other people's personal tastes or opinions, but the boil had been humble enough to drop the fact that she'd been so stubborn. Might as well act interested.

"My favorite place?" he repeated. The dragon actually had to think about this one for a moment or so. He was tempted to say his own room since that was where all his treasure was, but he couldn't really be so certain about that.
"This might sound kind of weird, but I think I like the courtyards and stuff best. It's out there that I can fly around and stuff, even bring my best friend along if she's able to join," Jericho said. There were a number of places he enjoyed being over all, though.

"I bet that's nice." Riyo commented after listening to his answer, though she didn't specify on whether she meant flying around, or being with his best friend. Though whatever she meant, it was genuine.
Silently, the cat demon shoved her hands into her pockets and approached Jericho. "Shall we continue?" As much as she'd like to stay at the library, Riyo didn't like to waste her time or the time of others. Fun could wait. There were things to do after they finished this tour. Papers to write, finances to figure, cats to feed... Busy, busy busy.

With a smile, Jericho nodded to Riyo. It was pretty nice, really. Both parts of what he said. When she asked to continue on, he nodded once more and headed on out of the library and went towards the cafeteria. He wasn't aware that she had been there before, but he figured it would be good to know where it was.
"Over here's the cafeteria. The food in town is better of course, but this isn't so bad if you're hungry and looking for a cheap meal close by," he explained while walking by it, "Just uh... if you get food here, don't let it sit out for too long. It'll come to life."

As they went along, Riyo kept looking around to find markers and landmarks so she'd remember which way to go where. It wouldn't take her long to get the hang of the place if she memorized every unchanging corner.
When they entered the cafeteria, a cringe showed up on the cat's face... Not from the smell of the food, but remembering what happened here. "Yeah.. I know. This is one of the places I have been." And while the food wasn't... Awful... The company certainly had been. "Remember the stalker guy I mentioned at the festival? Well, this is where I met him."
