"Hello again... what was it...Gunn? Still so desperate to be dangerous you have to stuff matches down your ...cleavage?" He was mocking her, plain and deliberate mockery. "Or have you actually learned a trick or two that doesn't leave you -dependent- on others...and things. I hear you are VERY very brave indeed... when your opponent is tied to a chair."
He raised a purple stone, it flickered between dark and light glows for reasons unknown, but anyone whom had seen the one that Tanzinite had carried, and later crushed with the remains of her -teeth- would know they were dangerous. "Tell me Gunn... do you play Chess?" His eyes glittered with some kind of dark amusement. "Do you know what a gambit is?"
He tilted the crystal towards his mask and then spoke again... "Move in... " Was all he said.

Waiting was... boring to say the least. As she listened to the back and forth chatter on one of the other teammate's crystals, she couldn't help but silently wish it would all hurry up. Patience be damned, she wanted to be there now! To catch sight of her enemy for the first time since her corruption. To see if any of the faces rang familiar to her or would remind her of things that lingered like fuzzy memories.
She did not hesitate as the words "Move in" finally emitted from the crystal, letting herself be carried to the scene along with the rest of their ambush. Surprise, surprise!
White paws touched the ground and she was immedately to work. The power levels of the senshi radiated through a thick light energy and her eyes whipped back and forth searching for the most powerful, and therefore likely most dangerous of the group.
She'd been tasked to find Ares after all if the leader was indeed here. If not well.. she could always find someway to try and cause some misery for the senshi.

Sirius was late, mostly because she tripped over on the way there and grazed her knee and it hurt! Okay so she wouldn't let anyone else know that her knee hurt or that it was the reason she was late but that was the reason. The different orders she got through the phone she was acknowledging as well as giving Birhan a really feeble excuse as to why it took her so long to get there.
Assist Gunn
That was the final message she got. She had never really worked with that senshi before but she knew who she was and so she ran towards her and the nega she was standing near. Sirius didn't know the general but she heard Gunn's words. So this is who they were after.
She ran up beside Gunn, whispering a hi so not to spook the senshi or anything and watched the general as he spoke. He had a crystal? She looked confused for a minute but stood her ground - he was talking to Gunn after all and Sirius had no idea what was going on and didn't notice the cat appear on the scene.

She was told, she was prepared. While a long time ago, and her last time dealing with the fire senshi.... Fayalite remembered that time when her Boss asked her to borrow the flame inside her weapon. Since that time... her weapon had upgraded. Granted not a whole lot, but her Lantern pole was longer and now a heavier metal. Not as easy to bend. The captain knew who was coming though, so she was prepared.
"On it." She muttered into the small crystal certain that she would not be the only voice replying back at that moment. They were waiting for the call. She was further away, not wanting the others to sense that this was a game... She vanished the purple stone, letting it go back to whatever unit held it when it was not needed.
The captain started forward for a moment, and teleported to the field. It was a strain of energy, being a captain, but a needed one. Game of chess indeed, one of Zinks 'knights' was on the playing field now. Her weapon now was just the pole, the lantern that usually was attached was tossed away. No helping Gunn with her need of flames to start her fires.
"Hello Gunn, ive heard so much about you..." She eyes Gunn, a moment before Sirius arrived as well. With a quirk of her eye, the captain looked at the new senshi too. "Cant go anywhere without your mutt now?"

Move in.
It was all that Alunite needed to hear.
He carefully made his way down his perch, not daring to jump off like he usually would have, thanks to his injury. As an added bonus, almost everyone else had moved forward when he had finally reached the ground, so it was easier for him so slide through the group as he'd been ordered.
For once, he was glad about his height. Sure, they could see him.
Feel him ? Not the same thing.
He moved to hide behind one wall, peeking to the fight below. His purpose here was not outright fighting, no.
He'd defend himself if needed, but now the distance looked good. He had a nasty surprise for a few unsuspecting senshi... All the agents knew what his power was. How it would feel.
The senshi... most likely did not.

"...does move in mean me too, General?" Ilmenite kept his head ducked down, his voice barely more than a breath, watching the senshi through a netting of fingers that easily disguised his face and his expression. He didn't think he recognized her, though he might have had a glimpse or two at some point...
His posture was still moste decisively cringing, civilian, non-threatening, minimizing his height. Part of that was due to the actual dull ache across his jaw, where fingers didn't quite touch. He'd probably have a goose egg there, later, and he and Wolframite were definitely going to have to have some more words.
"Think I should maybe wait to see if she's alone..."

Was it just her, or did more and more signatures on the opposite side start popping up? This wasn't in the plan... seemed more like... an ambush. Kallichore's eyes went wide and she tried to stop her full sprint. Coming to a crash landing and sliding on her knees, the senshi of madness found that there were far more signatures than was previously thought. In her near-panicked haze, Kallichore imagined there were at least twice as many Negas as there were senshi, and the thought that they would all die there crossed her mind more than once.
But her mission was to protect the civilian at all costs, and Kallichore did her best to slide into place. She stood between the civilian and the incoming horde, knowing full well her attack could only hit one of them. The power signatures converging in on the task force masked so many others, making it difficult to tell who was where and at what power level. If she could make it out alive with the civilian in tow, then she would consider this mission a minor success.
"Get ready to run." Kallichore instructed over her shoulder, eyes dancing between targets. Would she even have enough time to hit one of them? Or would her attack prove useless?

Gunn took a deep, shaky breath. She wasn't supposed to kill the general, just capture him. Although, you know, she couldn't control her attack. Not even a little bit! So if she just happened to… slip… and the body happened to catch on fire… no one could really blame her, could they? "I play," she said, blue eyes wary. She did, a little, and only with Kreszant; he was fond of using gambits, if she remembered right, and honestly she wasn't trying to. "Going to try for scholar's mate," she asked, quirking one orange brow. "I don't think you've really got enough…"
She froze at the words he spoke, and turned towards Sirius as more signatures popped onto the field. "It's a trap, get out of here!" It was not a request, it was an order; Gunn was Inner Sanctum, she outranked Sirius, and she hoped at least now that still meant something. She remembered the last time they'd walked into a situation they weren't prepared for, and it had left Gunn with some of her more interesting scars during a strategic retreat from the General Serandite. "Tell Birhan to pull back!" There was a moment of relief when she saw the familiar Negaverser, but it didn't last long by virtue of the lack of the brunette's lantern. Gunn narrowed her eyes; they couldn't have expected her to be the one sent after Zinkenite, could they? That would imply a lot more intelligence than she wanted to believe the enemy had… Or else Birhan was a traitor.
Couldn't be.
Whether she had flames or not, Gunn was still a fierce opponent. She trained as often as she could, and they knew from their own intelligence that Zinkenite simply didn't spend a lot of time fighting. Beyond that, Gunn had height and presumably weight on him. If she could just keep the brunette Captain out of the way, then she stood a decent chance of knocking Zinkenite out of the battle. "Don't pretend you don't know who I am," she said, hoping that Sirius was indeed retreating. "You play chess, you say? You've heard of the Légal Pseudo-Sacrifice, then." She smiled, and--ignoring the captain--ran straight for Zinkenite. He was so small an ankle sweep was really more like a knee sweep, but she knew of no better way to take him down and hopefully knock him out.
If he wasn't knocked out, she could always just strangle him. Yes, that would work well... for Gunn.

Sirius had no freakin idea what to do. She was told to go here then there and now it was a trap? Ah ******** it. She watched as Gunn basically tackled the general and knew that if anything she would just get in the way. There were so many bloody negas about.
She turned and looked and gulped before making a run for where Birhan had been.
"Birhan it's a trap, Birhan!" She called to her mentor and the leader of the operation but it seemed everyone already knew and they were outnumbered big time.
She reached Birhan though who was clearly about to have some fun with the captain they had taken captive. Wolframite. Sirius shuddered a little at the memory of what he looked like when he escaped.
She tugged at Birhan's arm as she spoke quickly.
"Birhan, Gunn is surrounded, she told me to leave, it's all a trap we are outnumbered big time." The same thoughts went through Sirius's mind as they had Gunn's. How did this happen? They couldn't have known who they were going to attack or when... just how did this end up...? Why was it everything they seemed to do failed? Anyway she would have more time to doubt everything and anything later. For now she would protect those she could but annoyingly Gunn wasn't one of those. If she collared Gunn she trapped her with the general and that was why she needed Birhan. They had to leave, she would see that right?

He smiled as more and more signatures popped on his radar. All familiar. All energies he felt comfortable with. He was safe here among them. Not outnumbered. Not like before. The tables were turned now, and a plan that had once traumatized him was being used against the members of the BMC. It was poetic justice at it's best, and Wolframite's lips split into a wide, crazed grin. "Oh, we can play. We all can play." Oh he had dreamed of her. Not like how most boys would dream about girls in short skirts. No. His had been far more dark. Far more haunting, and he hated that she delighted in the fact he couldn't shake off the effects of their time together.
Birhan was the one that had gotten to him. Had broken his persistent will to keep his lips sealed, and she knew what weak spot he had in regards to the fear of his own vision.
But things were different now, and he could only hope that everything worked out. He wanted them all captured. He wanted each and every one of them to suffer as badly as they had, and to carve up their friends in front of their very eyes in just the same fashion - no, even worse than that - that they had their fellow officers. The BMC needed to be taught a lesson just as they had been taught a lesson. When you rose the bar of cruelty that high, then the opposing side was forced to rise up to that standard in retaliation. He would see them scream and suffer and be scared for eternity.
He watched as one girl, one he felt he might have seen during his imprisonment, raced to Birhan to alert her of the situation. What did they feel now? Did they feel that panic, that sense of desperation, surprise, and shock that the Negaverse had when they had been ambushed? He hoped so. "Feels familiar, doesn't it?" He said, advancing on the pair and throwing out his weapon. Just enough to keep them here.

So far there was no p***k of eternal energy on her radar, not opponent from the other side that stacked up against the general that had pieced together this little plot. And unfortunately the senshi had appeared to already catch wind of the trap that had been sprung. Prematurely in her opinion... General Zinkenite was playing too safe for her tastes. She would have had them all lured in.. so they could all be surrounded and incapable of escape.
Already some were retreating, her ears twitched as voice after feminine voice piped up 'trap, trap'. She'd still wait for someone more powerful to show up to use her laser, but that didn't mean she couldn't help a little. One senshi was already surrounded. Others were retreating already. Her eyes settled on one that hadn't done so yet, one that appeared to be doing the same as her, trying to pick out someone to attack.
Tiny white feet pulled her across the distance towards Kallichore, so low to the ground the senshi may or may not have noticed the cat until she was already trying to sink her claws and teeth through the stockings above her mismatched lower boot.

Birhan hadn't missed the sudden arrival of energy signatures. Not even Wolframite's taunts and the promise of hurting him again could steal that much of her focus. She'd come to much the same conclusion by the time Sirius appeared at her side and passed on Gunn's message.
She nodded agreement with Gunn's assessment. They were outnumbered, not to mentioned outgunned without a single Eternal on their side to match the General. Birhan raised her phone. "Everyone fall back. Op is a bust, all senshi retreat."
Wolframite's weapon flew out again, forcing Birhan to duck and roll, winding up closer to Kallichore and the civilian. Birhan pressed a hand to the slice on her upper bicep, hissing quietly. It seemed Wolframite didn't want to let them go so easily.
"Kallichore, get the civilian out of here!"
Thankfully the other senshi was within earshot, because Birhan doubted she could get off another phone message without Wolframite drawing more blood while Birhan fumbled with the phone. Annoying. Incredibly annoying! Just how had the Negaverse known that the Blood Moon Court would be coming after Zinkenite? Did they have a traitor in their ranks? One of those who'd abandoned the BMC already, or someone still hiding in their ranks... One thing was for sure, if Birhan found out who had blabbed their plan, merc or cadet, former BMC or current... they would not enjoy Birhan's retribution.
Hardened violet eyes glared at her opponent. It was clear that Wolframite wasn't going to let them walk away. And he had all the power while they remained on the defensive. Birhan growled, "Sirius, get Kalli and the civilian out of here. I'll follow you."
But first, to secure their path of escape. Birhan charged at Wolframite, dropping to the ground as he readied his weapon, coming in at a fast slide for his ankles.

"You heard the lady. We're leaving."
Grabbing at the civilian's wrist, Kallichore made to run through the nearest gap in the enemy forces she could find. She had to stay as low as she could to avoid being hit with so many things, but before she could move, something started to claw and bite at her leg. With a hiss, the super senshi looked down to find a cat... with a very unnatural energy signature. Damn, they could corrupt cats too? Is there anything the Negaverse wouldn't sink its teeth into? She hated to do it, but Kallichore tried to punt the cat away and make her escape with the civilian in tow.
"We don't have time for this." she muttered under her breath and hoped that all the energy signatures converging on their location would leave well enough alone and let the senshi in crimson through. She only had one shot at any given Negaverser, so she had to make it count. Wait until the time was right before firing it off. Until then, Kallichore had to rely solely on her physical traits rather than her magical ones. She made a beeline towards the escape route as quickly as she could.

"What's the matter Gunn... didn't think we didn't remember the BMC's biggest players?" He started to step back to let the new Captain make her move when Gunn lunged. Oh he knew the moves, he saw the moves in his head as they would have been laid out in a chessboard.
"You... are no queen, so sorry little candle." Then something else flickered in his eyes... the move was to capture the King... the queen moved to a place where SHE might be captured so that they might take the King...could he have...
"WOLFRAM" He barked loud enough to be heard even without the crystal-radio. "Guard your cohorts!" As he staggered from off his feet. "He threw up an arm to defend himself as he fell. Zinkenite abhorred physical violence... but when he had to... he tried to do it right. He lashed a boot out trying to slam it hard into her shin.

Sirius didn't like the idea of them leaving Birhan and Gunn against all of them. She really didn't like the idea but she did as she was told and grabbed the civillian along with Kallichore and helped drag him away from the scene. Everything was a mess.
As they seemed to go a cat latched it's self to Kallichore - oh what terrible timing. Stupid cat. As Kallichore kicked it off Sirius picked up a piece of old debry off the floor and threw it at the cat hoping it would get the message and run off. Stupid animals did it not realise this wasn't a safe place to be. She hadn't picked up on the energy signature due to all the confusion as to what was happening in the first place.
