Thus she is distant and completely objective on most subjects. She does this to prevent er own opinions from disrupting things ✽ These are a few of my favorite things ✽ Results and feedback of all kinds, good and bad. Dissecting dreams to understand them. A mental challenge. ✖ My weaknesses and dislikes ✖ Samantha has almost no sense of good or bad when it comes to her experiments. When in dreams she does her best to vanquish dream eaters but her curiosity makes it a task. Samantha dislikes anything and anyone who attempts to disrupt her experiments for whatever reason. It's her biggest pet peeve. 【 History 】 Samantha grew up in a lab with her parents, who were also scientists. They home schooled her since they couldn't find an educational institution that met their standards. Having graduated college at 15 and later getting her PhD at the age of 20, Samantha found her own passion in the human psyche, especially the unconscious and subconscious. An expert in her field, she found that simply gettinga report from machines and the subject's biased memory weren't enough. She needed to experience it for herself. When she heard of Dominic Kral's research and new project she needed to be apart of it. Sending him a letter she expressed her interest in working with him. With her background and expertise he had no choice but to bring her on. mc2 【 Gaian Name 】 mc2〖 Character's Name 〗 Thanial Lorenzo Kari【Status】 Dream Catcher Agent〖 Rank/Staff Position 〗 Receptionist 【 Agent's Code Name 】 Ren〖 Gender 〗 male 【 Age 】 23〖 Personality 〗 Thanial seems to only be able to speak in a serious tone with no indication of sarcasm or irritation. He is very loyal and tends to be remarkably polite and formal at work (and to some degree in his off hours). While he wasn't scared of much when he was younger, after his short time being infected with a Dream Eater, he has become in many ways a bit fearful and arguably mildly paranoid. Generally, he is a bit lazy when it comes to doing any sort of work that doesn't interest him.✽ These are a few of my favorite things ✽ black coffee, vodka, programming, and hacking.✖ My weaknesses and dislikes ✖ the dark, large open spaces, closets, that space under the bed, scary movies/stories/books and having a lower than average alcohol tolerance【 History 】 In the beginning of his fourth (and last) year in Massachusetts studying computer science and mathematics, Thanial began to have trouble sleeping. It took a month of nightmares before he finally mentioned it to his older sister who was studying law in New York City. She said that it was probably stress but she remembered one of her roommates having a similar problem before she visited some ‘really sketchy doctor who can make you sleep better than sleeping pills’. When he arrived at his sister’s she had been stunned to see how much of a mess he was-he had minimized his problems about sleeping quite a bit. That afternoon he decided to take a walk and that is when he stumbled across the Dream Catcher’s Office. Two days later, after finding out that he was a victim of a Dream Eater starting to attack, and the Dream Catcher’s rooting out the problem, Thanial declared that he was staying in New York and dropping out of college (much to his parents’ and sister’s alarm). He decided that he would much rather work for the Dream Catcher’s and it was far more exciting than say working for Google, in his opinion.
That was two years ago. And somehow, instead of being the exciting job he had thought of being a Dream Catcher, he end up as the receptionist. Of course, he gets free room and board in New York City (in what is a way better than the apartment his sister stayed in during law school) and a salary. The pay isn’t bad. Solais Spade 【 Gaian Name 】 Solais Spade〖 Character's Name 〗 Raanan Thomjir【Status】 Dream Catcher Agent〖 Rank/Staff Position 〗 Agent【 Agent's Code Name 】 Agent Animus〖 Gender 〗 Male 【 Age 】 26 〖 Personality 〗 Ran is normally rather laid back, fun loving, and goofy. Despite these things, Ran is always on alert or tense. He gets paranoid and jumpy as well. Ran has a dark past and sometimes slips into moments of utter rage. He is very hard to push into anger, but when it happens he reacts. He feels no guilt or moral ties when in these “moods” and can only be calmed by Dom for some reason.✽ These are a few of my favorite things ✽ Ran enjoys music, and cooking as well. He also likes to garden, and spends a lot of time outdoors.✖ My weaknesses and dislikes ✖ Ran hates when people act overexcited and finds them exhausting. He will defend his fellow Dream Catcher Agents with his life. He dislikes spicy food and mushrooms. No one is really sure what causes Ran’s fits of rage, so most tread lightly around him.【 History 】 Ran grew up with extremely strict parents who were high born and wealthy. They expected only the best from him, even at a young age. The pressure would get rather intense sometimes, and thus he would go out with his little sister, Mia, and play near a creek on their parents property.
Ran and Mia were very close, and enjoyed spending time together. She was the only one who could make him smile when he was mad, and she would often bring him little things she found to cheer him us such as oddly shaped and colored rocks or interesting flowers.
When he was a teenager, he was sent to live with his distant relatives and lived out the rest of his school days with them until it was time for him to be sent out on his own.
He spent a lot of his young years begging and taking any odd jobs he could. That’s how he discovered Dom and his research, and eventually joined up with the Dream Catchers. For some reason, he felt calm around this man. He felt…normal. 【 Gaian Name 】 Xaimee 〖 Character's Name 〗 Jonathan 'Jon' Niles 【Status】 Dream Catcher 〖 Rank/Staff Position 〗 Rookie Agent 【 Agent's Code Name 】 Helios 〖 Gender 〗 Male 【 Age 】 19 〖 Personality 〗 Jonathan, or Jon as he prefers to be called, has always been an introverted character. It's not that he dislikes being around other people or being social but he simply drifts off into his own head all too often. He can be quite friendly when he can be pulled out of daydreaming and he certainly does not like to be thought of as stupid or slow just because he struggles to pay attention to things. ✽ These are a few of my favourite things ✽ Sleep, Music, Neaerides, Dreaming, Daydreaming ✖ My weaknesses and dislikes ✖ Silence, Staying awake, Being judged, Exercise 【 History 】Jonathan was born a dreamer and has always remained that way. Unlike most people, he was born aware of his Guardian and had a connection to her from birth. He found it easy to drift into a dreamlike state where he could spend time with her and go on all sorts of adventures that were not possible in the real world. His Guardian, Neaerides, was a mercurial creature who could shift her appearance and manifest flames at will. To begin with, they started in an almost parent-child relationship although as he grew older that changed to a close friendship. Perhaps closer than any two humans could be thanks to their connection. His success in his dream life did not translate to success in his real life, however. While he was no fool, his constant drifting into the dream world made his education as a child suffer and he essentially coasted through high school until he barely graduated with a passing grade. Unsurprisingly, no higher educational institution had any interest in him and he found himself on the streets after his parents got sick of his lack of effort to find employment to support himself. It was not that they did not love him but they thought perhaps the shock of the real world would finally knock him out of his dreaming ways. It did not work, however, and instead Jonathan simply spent most of his time wandering from place to place in New York until one day Dominic and his 'radar' found him. The man had been pursuing a Dream Eater but Jon's extremely close connection to the dream world has provided a false positive on his radar. Such a talent, while worthless to anyone else, was of extreme interest to the Dream Catchers so he was promptly offered a job. He accepted it and now he has a roof over his head and ample opportunity to dream.
