Roz sighed at himself. Oh he was on a roll in the wrong direction already. If he kept this up he was going to talk himself into an early grave. What was wrong with him? What was he thinking saying something like that to her? If she killed him, he knew that he deserved it at least. His father probably would have kicked him for saying something like that, and Nav let a lot slide. "I... am sorry. I am a big mouthed youth that is old enough to know better."
Roz' ears drooped a bit. "Apparently I am still young enough to open my mouth regardless of knowing better, though. I know there are not all good of pridals, or of anyone for that matter. I realize I am very out of my element and that I may not make it back to my pride. I also know that if I do not find a female to take back I CANNOT go back to my family, and there are many things working against me out here." He crouched down and looked miserable for the first time since he had left the pride.
"You have no reason to trust me... but I have a long journey ahead and really should not stay too long in any one place. Perhaps you could make use of the rest of this kill so it does not go to waste." Roz figured at this point she might refuse anyway, but this gave him a way to retreat and still leave her the food. He got up and dusted himself off before starting off in the direction he had been headed last night. She might hate him, but at least she would be well fed.
