"Valhalla... of Jupiter," he introduced quickly, having been been distracted from telling her his name and feeling a bit embarrassed when she went ahead and introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you. My place it just this way," he said, stumbling a little as he stepped off the curb he didn't realize was there. He looked around to make sure no one was following them as he ducked down an alley, heading for the back of his apartment building. Once they got to the right place, it was just a climb up the fire escape to the top floor.

He knew he was probably going to get himself killed letting people know who he was and where he lived, but he would rather be the one to die than let someone else die. He just wouldn't be able to live with the guilt. And so, once he pushed open the window to the loft and bedroom of his apartment, he powered down.

"Chris Gallo," he introduced again, showing her an awkward smile. Instead of looking like a wannabe-viking, he was wearing a short sleeved blue polo short, light plaid blue and white shorts, and boat shoes. He was just... a normal guy, really. Albeit a financially well off normal guy, if his apartment said anything. They'd entered through the one small window in the bedroom area, but over a short glass wall and wooden banister was the rest of his apartment. And a wall of window two stories tall and almost as wide. If Magellan went the tempered glass stairs she would find the large kitchen with dark granite counter tops, an island, and stainless steel appliances were directly under the loft. Off the kitchen was an extra bedroom that had been turned into an office, and an extra bedroom where his dog was sleeping in her bed. The large open area had a couple couches set up in front of a large flat screen and then a table and some chairs around it. The whole place was light and airy and warm.

His mom had picked it out and decorated it...

Chris went directly across the bedroom, around the low, large white bed, to the bathroom, opening up the cabinet with the first aid kit. "In here," he said, gesturing to the bathroom. "You need to get cleaned up." He would get to his own injuries once he got her taken care of. The blood on his arm had at least dried enough to not be dripping everywhere.

Magellan was more than a little apprehensive about going into someone else's house, especially someone she didn't know, but she figured that if it was an ambush she could summon the energy to launch her attack again and get out of there. She was confident that either way she was going to be fine, and if she took a little bit of a risk and it paid off, she'd be cleaned up before she went sneaking back into her own house, which was a bonus. She couldn't count how many times her parents had caught her and freaked out when they saw fresh battle injuries all over her.

She stood uneasily, taking in her surroundings with a wary eye, when he powered down. She hadn't expected that at all. Maybe after he thrust a first-aid kit at her and patched her up a little, maybe, but -- Damn, this guy really was trying to get himself killed, wasn't he?

Debating a moment, because she knew that her power signature would attract unwanted attention, she waited until Chris was gone to drop her own fuku. It left an uneasy, roiling sensation in the pit of her stomach (or was that the result of pain and a hit to the head? she wasn't sure.) but it was the least she could do to help protect the idiot. One good turn deserved another, right?

... Right?

Looking down at her bright pink converse, she tucked her bottom lip in with her teeth, ignoring him when he called to her from the bathroom. Aside from very select few people, Magellan hadn't actually revealed her civilian identity to many people. Nearly dying more than once would instill more than a little paranoia in you, after all. But, well...

You didn't gain anything without any risk, and she didn't want some hot-headed Negaverse agent to come strolling down the alleyway and come after the power signature sending off sparks from the bedroom.

Her outfit was, surprisingly, not that different from her fuku; it certainly wasn't as extravagant, but the skirt was nearly as short, a dark blue that was crossed with pink plaid. Black tights made the outfit less obscene and served the dual purpose of hiding budding bruises, but her shirt -- a simple button-down in a pale blue -- had short sleeves. If her parents saw the scrapes dragging down her arms, they would wonder.

Maybe he had some bandages to cover that.

Treading carefully toward the bathroom, Dani leaned around the corner, shielding her eyes against the light. Blood was caked on her face, drying and beginning to flake, but it seemed like the combination of pressure and her accelerated healing had at least stopped the blood flow. She stared at him for a moment, semi-awkwardly, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

Unfortunately, it was matted with blood. Gross. As though it wasn't bad enough that she ached everywhere, when she finally caught a look of herself in his mirror, she nearly recoiled in horror.

"I look like s**t," she said, sounding very displeased. After a few beats, she sat down on the toilet, mostly to keep herself from retching. Man, she wished her adrenaline rush could have lasted long enough for her to get snuggly in her own bed. "Dani," she added, bringing a hand up to touch her temple lightly. "Dani Rymner. I just need to sit a minute."

Chris was actually surprised to feel the powered energy fade away, and he glanced over his shoulder at the young woman standing awkwardly and waiting for him to get out of the way. He stepped aside for her to use the mirror, nearly jumping back as she did.

Ah! If she fell down, that wouldn't be good. He quickly took hold of her arm and led her to the toilet, since it was closest, and quickly shut the lid before having her sit down. That would have been awkward, to say the least...

"Could be worse?" he offered, not knowing how much that would help her. At least she still had everything in tact. She hadn't lost an ear or something equally gory. Chris turned around to pull out some towels from the cabinet, as well as a few washcloths. He handed them all to Dani to use if she so wished. "You could always take a shower if you want." He wasn't going to keep her from getting cleaned up. For himself, though, he just picked up a washcloth to soak in some warm water in the sink. He rung out two of the cloths, passing one to Dani before dabbing gingerly at the bite marks on his arm.

"I really hope these things aren't carrying around nasty diseases," he mumbled to himself, keeping his attention to his own arm, but he did glance up at the young woman in the mirror every so often, hoping that she was okay and not going to pass out. That would be bad...

There was a sudden sound of scuffling on the floor from the stairs, and a medium sized dog poked her head into the bathroom to see what was going on. She sniffed at them before turning her big brown eyes to her owner, and then cautiously made her way in to inspect the girl when it didn't seem as if anything was seriously wrong.

"Ah... That's Annabel Lee..." he introduced, pausing to reach down and give the Spitz a rub on her head before going back to working on cleaning everything up.

"If you want to lay down for a bit, you can use the bed," he told her, glancing over to Dani, hoping she was going to be okay. He could always call the hospital if he needed...

No matter how much her head hurt or how dizzy she might have felt, Dani wasn't going to hop into some stranger's shower and be naked and vulnerable in a place she didn't recognize. That, and she wasn't entirely sure that she wouldn't just fall asleep in the shower, because hot water always made her tired... and she hardly wanted to deal with that awkward scenario. She could already imagine calling her parents and letting them know where she'd been all night -- Sorry Mom and Dad! I ended up falling asleep at some guy's house I just met today! -- and she winced. Yeah, that would not go over well.

She accepted the dampened towel with a mumbled thanks and held it to her head, expression contorting at the pain. Ugh, why did they always have to go for her head? Sure, if they took out her head she'd be dead, but she wasn't sure youma had that kind of higher-reasoning ability. Yet.

Gaze roving moodily to the dog as she came in, Dani contemplated her for a moment before smiling. She loved animals, dogs especially, and next time she got one she was going to get a bigger dog, one more suited for running. A border collie, maybe. For now, though, she had her little dogs back home, and though she did take them on walks, they weren't really built for long distance running.

"Hi, baby," she said, extending her hand for the dog to sniff. Then, realizing she'd largely been ignoring Chris, she glanced over to him and made a face. "If they were carrying diseases, I'd be long dead by now. I've fought like, a million of these. And usually they get at least one good hit in."

Once she passed the dog's inspection, Dani leaned over to give her a good rub behind the ears, eyebrows raising at his offer. "I probably shouldn't like, sleep over. But laying down for a little bit might be okay. I knocked my head," she added, dabbing at her head again, and groaned. "I really knocked my head. Stupid goddamn youma."

Dani did indeed pass Annabel's inspection, and she wagged her curled tail happily and all but tried to jump up into the girl's lap, but decided to sit and be pet instead. She just wanted the attention!

Chris shook his head lightly, though, not liking how she'd been hurt and yet was so carefree about getting better. "Lay down for a bit, then. I don't mind at all," he said with a small shrug as he dropped the cloth he was using into the sink so he could then pull out bandages and gauze and pads to stop the blood. "Here," he offered her the box after taking what he needed for himself. "Do you need help? I'm going to make some tea," he explained, covering his own gashes along his arm with some gauze before stepping towards the door.

"Did you want anything? To eat or drink?" He offered as he left the bathroom and turned to head down the stairs, although with how open the apartment was, it wasn't difficult to continue a conversation at all. "I'll be back in a bit," he promised, although he didn't think she would be in danger being left alone... at least not right now. Hopefully she would decide to get some rest, though.

Annabel, on the other hand, remained with Dani, but stopped trying to jump up on her and just rolled over onto her back at her feet to wiggle around. Dani should at least expect for the dog to be following her around, now.

It was a little surreal, and under different circumstances, it might have struck her as hilarious that Chris was playing good host when she was sitting in his bathroom covered in cuts and bruises. Of course, under different circumstances it wouldn't have been as funny, but -- whatever. Her head hurt.

There was something innately comforting about having a dog present, though. As Chris headed out to get tea, she called after him that she didn't want anything, and then immediately regretted raising her voice; pounding headaches and shouting were not a good combination. She stood up, the world tipping precariously as she did, and carefully wove her way out of the bathroom.

Annabel did her level best to be completely underfoot, which Dani knew logically was her own fault -- she'd been petting the dog -- but didn't make her any more irritated when she stumbled over her and nearly went cartwheeling onto Chris' bed. As it was, she landed hard, bouncing once on the mattress, and used her hands to steady herself. God, her head really hurt.

She gazed across the room, brows knit, and was vaguely aware that Chris was saying something to her. Well... whatever. He'd repeat himself when he came back in, she reassured herself, slowly lowering until she was laying on her side. He had a nice bed, she thought dimly, hand catching in the blanket and curling it around her fingers. Nice and soft.

At the corner of the bed, Annabel wagged her tail happily, eyes huge and hopeful. Obligingly, Dani reached over, her fingers grazing the top of the dog's head.

"I'm not sleeping over," she assured the dog, shifting her legs restlessly. "Just laying down a minute."

Her hand gradually stopped petting, however, and even though Annabel licked it a couple times in encouragement, there was no rousing her.

Not sleeping over indeed.
