Sonnet Sonnets heart started thumping really fast, her answer to his question made him even more hopeful. Looking up at the sky as it grew darker. "My dream... It used to be that I wanted to be a protector, strong and able to tae care of my family.... Now, I've had training and will probably get more in time... Now my dream is to have my own family... with you." Looking at her then glad it was getting darker and she couldn't see his blush. "A happy family full of laughter and song. Foals that will probably be doted on by both our parents." Smiling a little wonkily. "My wont dilemma is who on earth would be your midwife.."

Chandra burst into laughter and nuzzled him softly, "Well.... I am sure Io can help, she knows some great pain relief herbs." She said with a smile, they had helped a few of Chandra's patients together. Of course... it was only then that his answer sunk in.
She turned to look him in the eyes, a serious air floating around her. "You want to start a family with me?" It was almost too good to be true, her dream come true.

Sonnet Sonnet chuckled, unable to stop it as he looked at her, but then smiling but very serious he nossed. "Yes what else do you think took me from your side for so long with no warning? I was chasing something to give to you at this moment." Looking up the first star twinkling in the almost totally black sky. Looking back to her. "This moment when I ask you to be my mate, and when I give you something as my promise that I am yours body and soul, something that is as beautiful and rare as you."

Chandra blinked.... and then blinked again. To say he had taken her by suprise was an understatement, her quite Sonnet rarely spoke of his feelings.... yet here he was, spilling out his heart.... for her! It made her heart leap and jump in joy.
She didn't care what he had found for her, all that mattered was him.... as she leaped towards him, using her head to nuzzle and hug him as close as she could. A huge grin peeled upon her face. "YES!" She chirped... perhaps a little too loudly. "I would love to be your mate...." Then she released him, looked him in the eyes for a moment... and then, for the first time ever she kissed him on the lips. A nervous and gentle caress.

Sonnet Sonnet blinked in surprise as she kissed him, blushing but not pulling away, kissing her softly back, unsure but going with what felt right. Drawing away after a time blushing deeply, tohugh she couldn't see it now so he didn't feel as foolish. "I've loved you from the first day we came up here looking for where the sun went. And I'll love you forever Chan... My North star." Smiling softly and fishing out the gift he had gone and found, it had taken days but he had finally found the place where this fallen star had landed. After finding it and clearing away the other bits of rock he had found this clear and softly glowing crystal. Holding it in his mouth gently before slipping the pouch off from his neck, placing the star on the material.

Chandra beamed at him, a grin that she suspected wouldn't fade for days or months to come. Her eyes were used to the dull light of the night and she could just make out the darker pigmentation on his cheeks that indictated that he was likely blushing.... that or he was hot. "I love you too...." She whispered as she watched him holding and carefully taking out something. It took her a moment to see what it was... she could see... glowing.....She felt a bit foolish as she spoke again, "It's beautiful... what is it?"

Sonnet Sonnets jaw almost dropped, but then he supposed that it did look just like a stone and though glowing that didn't give much clue as to where it came from. Kissing her softly on the lips, just a short little love peck, his voice soft. "Its a fallen star, I was up here days ago, trying to work out how to propose to you and this came shooting from the heavens." Nuzzling her cheek. "I knew then that I had to get that for you, a star for my star, so I chased it..." This explaining why he had gone and not said a word to anyone.

A falling star? She had never seen one before, only heard legends about them and their rare abilities. She was speachless, her mouth opening and closing but nothing came out.
He had found a falling star? For her? She couldn't believe it, no one had ever done so much for her.... and she had never expected anyone to.... yet Sonnet had. She beamed up at him, knowing that she really would love him forever, she was the missing part of his soal.
Finially able to speak she asked, "Thank you..... where.... where did you find it? How did you find it....?" She had never heard of anyone actually finding a fallen star... only those who had saw them.

Sonnet Sonnet kissed her again, he couldn't help himself, settling down by the star, inviting her to join him with a smile. He had come right to her, taking oly time to ryump in a river so he wasn't totally filthy, that was why his smell was a little wrong. Sighing as he settled, he was tired from flying back. "Well I'm not sure where it was exactly, but I flew for just over a day, trying to get a good closer look as well as flying high to see further. Finally I spotted the crater where the star had crashed. I stopped and found a drink and something to eat before digging it from the hole. I didn't think I'd found astar at first, but as I moved it the dark bits started to fall away, crumbling to reveal this." Nodding to the star, it had been grubby and he had taken time to polish it up for her but other than that it was as he had found it. "Once I had it I slept, ate and flew back as fast as I could, I got back not long ago."

Chandra listened to his tail, his adventure... part of her wished she could have been with him since she missed so much of his life, he went away to train and grow stronger, and although she understood why he needed to part of longed to join him. "Wow," she muttered as he decribed digging it up from the ground. It did explain the earthy tones that lingered just above his natural scent. "A fallen star...." She repeated, looking to it and back to Sonnet with a beaming smile on her face again. "I will keep it close, and whenever you are far away it will remind me of you.... my brave wandering star."

Sonnet Sonnet shook his head. "I hope to never have to leave your side again." He knoew this was not always an option but he wanted to always be there for her and his children. "I don't want to be like my mother, I will always be there for you and the foals we will one day have." Blushing again, not sure why but the idea of their foals brougt scalding heat to his cheeks.

Chandra smiled at him, in many ways she saw some of her father in Sonnet. He was a brave stallion with a concept of right and wrong that he lived by, he wanted to be there for his mate and family and privide for them as best as he could. Honest, brave and true.... she knew he was unlikely to see himself in such a way but she could see him as no less than her truest and dearest friend, her lover and now her mate.
Her mate.... she chuckled, it was a strange concept to think she had woken up not long ago with a lover only to now have a mate.... in her herd that meant something, the Miakoda herd only mated for life, and although there were a few exception and broken hearts most of the couples stayed together as such. She had no doubt that she and Sonnet would be the same. "You could never be anyone other than my Sonnet.... I know you will make a great father one day." She added, nuzzling him softly as she whispered. "Of course... I want you to myself for a little while." She nipped his mane before burying her face in it. Once again taking in the scent of him.

Sonnet Sonnet clushed deeply. "I umm... No... I hadn't thought that we.. Not right away... umm." Much as a family would be wonderful he was still getting used to being an uncle, besides he might not be able to have foals if her father and brother decided to teach him a lesson for stealing Chan away... That thought making him gulp and want to whimper. "We have no need to rush Chan, we can ummm." Going flaming red again at the thought but squeezing the words out. "We can try for foals when you want to." Part of him wishing that he hadn't been educated about intimate relations between mates, though it would probably be more embarassing if he was clueless. But then why was he so embarassed about it, he loved Chan they wanted a family and that was one of the only ways to get one, all natural... He would be fine, it would just take a little gettign used to, after all he was a mated stallion now... One that would have to face his father in law in the morning. Gulping.

Chandra did her best not to laugh, it wasn't because she wanted to laugh at him but rather at his cute behaviour. "Don't worry Sonnet," she said nipping at his mane again. "I wasn't saying we were in a hurry." A soft chuckle escaped her as she turned to lick his cheek affectionatly.
Beaming at him she tilted and head and took a moment to just look at him. "You seem nervous...." She nuzzled him, pressing her nose to his. "....let's just take this one day at a time." She turned her head to look at the last rays of the setting sun. This evening had been perfect, etched into her mine forever..... her mate (still strange), had travelled to fetch a fallen star for her... a glistening gem that she cherished with all her heart; he had thought out the perfect spot at the perfect time in order to make this special. Special.... just like him.
She leaned into him, confident that he would never reject her. Her wing moved softly to nestle over him. "We have forever together.... but for now I just want to enjoy this moment with you....."

Sonnet Sonnet smiled and let out a long sigh, he hadn't realised he had been semi holding his breath. Nuzzling close to her and keeping her with him. Smiling as the stars start to come out, his eyes looking down at the star he had given her, not knowing the stories about them beyond wishing on one. but it was th most rare and precious thing he could have found, just like his Chan, his mate... Smiling a huge grin snuggled close to her, he enjoyed the moment of being close with her, after all why worry about tomorrow right this moment. And if he was honest, he didn't think Maion would kill him, at least not totally.
