"Of course I don't mind. I wouldn't have taken the offer if I minded working." He had never worked a job but what he did do, tending his plants especially, did require time and considerable patients in order to make sure they were healthy and growing well. He didn't mind hard work, if the thing which required it was meaningful and this was. A glance to the little ninja, and a wincing from the teen before his attention was on the Captain again.
"Yes, of course." He did think himself better in a few ways, but that was just who Alexandre was. Not to mention the idiot almost landed on people and waking them would not be good. But he didn't think now was a good time to say such things. "He is indeed very energetic. I don't see how someone can have so much energy." Outside of little kids, they seemed to have boundless energy. Little kids...god. He'd been one of them once but never with the amount of energy Bazzite had nor some of the other children he'd seen in his life.
"Fluorite was very kind to me when I met her. So took me for a short hunt and showed me how to communicate and gather energy. Quite useful, especially the communication crystal." That were really useful, and no one could snatch it away like a cell phone could be. He could see the use in them, though he did wonder where they came from and how they'd come about.
His attention once more focused on the pale blue haired teen, he was sure he couldn't be much older or much younger than himself. "More people and all at once. Rather than a few people and separate. Or so I'd assume." A rolling of his slate colored eyes. He didn't ask about a quota, he knew there was one. But he knew if he went out each night and grabbed what the could he would be good, right? He didn't think to ask how to tell if he was bad, or if there was like some way to know how much it was or any such thing. These were things he should have asked, and likely would later on down the road. He was still new and not thinking properly.
Letting the Captain take the energy he'd gathered, he shifted his weight, to lean heavily onto the hells of his boots. He was still getting used to them, grass and sand were a real pain in the a**. He hated grass, especially if it was wet and soft. The hells sunk in and it became a real pain in the a** to move around with the ease he was used to.

"Drain as many as you'd like," she told Bazzite, "no one cares what a homeless person dithers on about. Be careful not to draw too much attention to yourself, of course."
She knew he couldn't get up to too much trouble. These civilians were sad and mostly pathetic, and there wouldn't be much trouble from hobos. She knew they were easy targets, and that they probably didn't deserve a harder life than they already had, but such was the way of things. Energy was energy, regardless of the source, and there was no shame in getting it when it was easy just because there was pride in getting it when it was difficult.
"Oh, Minion, soon we'll have to have a sparring lesson. Your skills are obviously good, if you're draining energy like a champ now, but I think we can teach you some new techniques that you'll benefit from." She grinned at him deviously. "Then I'll show you just what I mean by bigger."
She laughed at Benitoite, nodding her head, impressed.
"Or he'll just guess it for me. You both, I think, will learn a great many things under my training, but it won't be easy. It will be fun, of course, but fun can be difficult. But oh so worthwhile. Boys, I think we're starting something good here, don't you agree?"

Bazzite was trying to keep it together. His spasms came in short bursts and were gone in seconds, but that didn't stop him from vibrating with excitement. "Definitely good. Definitely, definitely." he agreed, nodding his head furiously to his commanding officer. Once she'd given him permission to drain as many homeless as he'd like, the little ninja gave himself a most glorious goal worthy of his mistress Painite:
Make the biggest ball of energy EVER.
Bounding off to find as many hobos gathered around the same place, Bazzite set about his mission. There was nowhere to go but up as far as he was concerned, and the praise from his superior officer made him even more eager to please her. He'd deliver an energy ball so big that Queen Beryl would need a dump truck just to move it! YEAH. Too bad nobody told him this would be possible at all, but it kept him occupied and out of Painite's hair while she discussed true business with the newest recruit.

Benitoite would have said something, about leaving the poor, destitute, alone but he held his tongue. The energy did return to them anyway. Though he still disliked using them, even in this so slight a way, to further a war. There was no telling how many of these poor souls had fought in a previous war and suffered for it, were possibly here because of stress or some mental break due to war.
"Fun is acceptable, when it serves a greater purpose. I am willing to pull my own weight." A firm, though small, nod from the blond. His gaze turning from the female to the other Lieutenant. "It would be the most obvious conclusion. Something big and energy draining, the only possible conclusion is draining from a large amount of people all at once. Perhaps a plan can be formulated together, or at the very least a location selected." He spoke, offering up to help, he could think of something he was sure. He'd enjoy putting his mind to something and not just collecting energy, maybe he'd get a notebook and start working out multiple ideas for different places and such. It would make things easier and assure he had everything in place.
"He's eager to help." He spoke, nodding his head toward his fellow Lieutenant. "It's really quite obvious he'll do well and go places. Eager to work, please others, and seems more than happy to do anything which needs to be done." Observing the other as he bounced and moved with all the energy of a drugged up speed addict, actually maybe even more. The other he pitied though, in some way. Maybe he should worry over himself, he hadn't grasped that this was war...at least not in the truest way had he grasped this concept.

Painite watched as Bazzite bounced off, shaking her head and smiling thoughtfully. She'd make a Captain out of him yet, she certainly wasn't worried about that. He would learn more than he thought possible, and he would do things he hadn't even dreamed of yet.
And she suspected he had a very active imagination.
Eyes shifting to Benitoite, she nodded her head, chuckling.
"He'll do just fine. As will you. You can contact me any time, whenever you need help or want extra training, but I might call you at any time, as well. Now. This little excercise is just fine, but I think we'll have to do something proper for me to get a better understanding of how you opporate. What do you think of that?"
Her tone didn't suggest that he had much of a choice, at the end of the day.

That tone of voice was picked up, and acknowledged, how could it not be? There was no room for objection, not that he would have done such anyway. Considering his previous words that should be obvious.
"Of course, that would be the wise thing to do." Get a feel for what he knew and didn't know and where he lacked and didn't. He knew he had a lot of lackings, he was new to this and he was no fighter. He was short and slender, petite, and not someone who had ever gotten into a fight and gotten dirty; less you considered his gardening hobby. Perhaps it was obvious even.
"It sounds good. I'd like to be able to keep in touch, in case anything comes up." It would give him one more person to contact, aside from Fluorite who he knew had a life like most people. So he couldn't always contact her let alone get a hold of her.
