"The sink. Right." She toddled over, and seemed to realize that Calcifer may have been making fun of her. Shooting him an indignant look over her shoulder, she reached up to the cupboard and swung it open.
"I know where cups are." She defended herself, as if it was enough to make up for forgetting where water came from and where the kitchen was.
She got a glass of cold water and set it aside, looking over at the cupboard that held the tea before deciding that Calcifer was probably right. She was stressing herself out, and that wasn't good. Besides that, it would only give Howl another thing to freak out about when he woke up.
"Presents? Oh, lord.." she shook her head. "I'm glad he's excited..." She rummaged around until she spotted a kettle, and set it on to boil with a small smile. "I am, too. And don't worry. I know better than to drip on you, Cal. Come on. Let's see if we can wake him up.." She picked up the glass and headed back to the living room, careful not to slosh any water out of the cup, and to keep it well away from Calcifer.
When they got there, she stooped over Howl and dipped her fingers into the water, flicking it at his face tentatively.
"You might want to hang back, Cal. Just in case." She warned him as she dipped her hand in to do it again. She didn't want any accidents to happen.

"I had to be sure," Calcifer defended himself, sticking out a flaming tongue at the pregnant teenager. "I thought your memory had gone." Afterall, it did seem she had forgotten where the water was--how should he have known what she remembered, and what she didn't? "Excited?" the firedemon snorted. "Excited's an understatement. He says your son'll be a mage; he's already claimed him as an apprentice, you see--so that other master of yours can't. At least, that's his excuse."
He followed her out into the living room, but hung back over her shoulder as she instructed while she flicked water onto Howl's face. The wizard promptly sat up, swearing in welsh.
"Kali, what was that for?" he complained, rubbing his head. He paused for a long moment, studied her, then looked to Calcifer, and then put a hand to his chest. "...You--really?" he asked, astonished. He stood, albeit shakily, and hugged her.

"To wake you up! You passed out and I thought you were DEAD-" She began to babble, but stopped as Howl hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest, feeling his heartbeat against her cheek.
"You're welcome." She smiled. "Take care of it, okay?"
