Gently laughed and grabbed his arm, dragging him with her as she enthusiastically popped up and hurried toward the stage. She announced that they would be going next, and handed him one of the sides the director had printed out for all of the cast.

Shakespeare was tricky for a lot of people, she knew. The language was unfamiliar, and the sentence structure often threw people off. It was a complicated way to speak, but not impossible. Reading it without being able to practice might be a problem for people who were not experienced, a pointed glance to Alexandre would have fallen there if she were paying attention to her thoughts, but she wasn't worried. To her it was like a second language, and she spoke fluently.

"I'll return the favor however you'd like," she promised with a wink, before the two were told to start the scene. It wasn't too difficult of one, at least, and certainly not long. The sides were chosen to be brief and fun. Gently took charge and tried to help him with her energy, but there was little she could do to aid him in the reading.

Soon enough, though, the scene closed and they were being clapped for. She patted him on the shoulder enthusiastically.

"See, that wasn't too bad?" Not for her, at least, and she was smiling brightly enough that she hoped he felt it had been worth it.

Seeing her grab him lines he nodded and started to look it over. He knew Shakespeare and the language, though he was not fluent in it. He read it for his own entertainment when he had the time, which was not often plus he had other books he read. Taking a sip from his espresso as he looked over the lines he finally spoke p.

"Espresso, pomegranate syrup." That was what he wanted in exchange for this, another drink. He was easy, by some standards, to buy off. He liked his caffeine and he liked it in a particular way. It was that way which made him easy to buy off. Sometimes he'd change his order and go cherry syrup or both syrups.

No, it wasn't all that bad, though he had got a little tongue tied on one word. He was normally without issue on reading it but reading aloud had his tongue slipping on him. He could read it to himself with out the tongue tying.

Her own energy, enthusiasm had helped, he was glad for it. And let her know, as he whispered a thank you as he passed her down the steps. Sipping his cooled drink. He had the script still in hand, might as well read it over for the sake of.

Gently laughed at his demand.

"You could get anything in the world, essentially, a blank cheque in front of you and you ask for an expresso? But there's no taking it back now! Expresso, pomegranate syrup it is."

She was very happy with how things went, and she was very glad he had gone along with it. She sat with him in the audience to watch the rest of the scenes. Nothing was left to do for her audition now. They could relax and watch the scenes, she could jump up and do any more that she wanted, and folks would start to trickle out until the call backs were posted in the coming days.

Once things died down enough, Gently stood from the seats and took Alexandre by the arm, walking with him out of the theatre. It was a familiar place, like a second (or third now, if she counted negaspace) home. She was almost sad to leave it, but things were done there.

"Thank you for coming today! I think I did better than ever. I think we nailed it!" She laughed, knowing he hadn't auditioned but he had certainly helped her with it.

"If I asked though, for anything in the world, could you deliver anything I'd ask for?" He asked grinning lightly. She couldn't possibly fulfill a request for anything he may possibly ask for. But yes, he was easy to get away with, when it came to paying him back for something. He had a liking for espresso that was flavored. Weather it was the taste, the caffeine fix, or both that had him liking the beverage was unknown. He wasn't a caffeine junkie, but he often had an espresso in hand.

Watching as other people went up to audition he silently ask her for her opinion on each person. He didn't have anything to compare to, to know how well they did for the character or what have you. So he resorted to asking her for her personal opinion. Maybe he'd watch the play online done by some theater company and get an idea, form his own opinions. It was an idea which came to him as people were leaving. An idea he didn't give voice to, seeing as he didn't know if he'd have time to indulge in such a thing.

"For artists and the few friends I have I do many things, this included. Now, if you'd like I believe I had some paintings to show you. If your still interested, and then perhaps the espresso. We can further discuss the auditions today, as I do think you did well." Walking with her down the sidewalk toward his suv. "I'll drive us, unless you brought your own ride."

Gently was always a nice person, but she could be blunt in her appraising of things. especially when asked her opinion on anything Entertainment related. Theatre? Even an audition... she was going to use her usual review tactics and not hold back.

So she told him, quietly, what she felt of the auditions. Most of them she liked, though one she was particularly vicious with because she felt they were playing the character entirely wrong. Plus, she said, this person had a big ego and always auditioned for things with Hamlet or Macbeth monologues, even though this was a comedy.

She wasn't a fan of his, it seemed.

"Oh yes!" She was standing with him near the door now, once everything in the theatre was over and done with. She clapped her hands excitedly, nodding her head. "I am very much still interested. I really want to see your paintings. Though, you might want to keep me and a coffee cup far away from them, just to be safe."

She wasn't a clutz, per se, but she wouldn't trust herself not to spill a drink. For some reason, she often had trouble keeping herself from making some kind of mess, big or small, with her drinks. "I walked here, so you're my taxi now." She chuckled.

Listening to Gently, every so often nodding his head. He understood what sort of person she was talking about. A few comments she had he laughed over, soft and covered by a hand. he found her bluntness nice, no beating around the bush with her. It was something to be appreciated, and he did appreciate it. "I know of people like that." Didn't everyone know of at least one person like that? Just like everyone had someone in their family that was storyteller who liked to make them self the star of every story? Alexandre knew he had such an uncle, on his fathers side.

"Then you can set the coffee down, I have them in the trunk of my car." Which was really an suv, as she'd likely seen. Wrapped in blankets he'd brought a few canvases. "I don't mind being your taxi, so long as your b uying my next espresso." Smiling as he lead the way to his car where he undid the alarm and unlocked the vehicle.

The trunk was gone to and opened, letting it draw itself upward as he motioned tot he blankets that were of various colors. Each one obviously covering something, a canvas.

"You can look them over." He said, with something of a small smile.

One was something simple, a pond with the reflection of a willow tree and lily pads drifting across the waters surface. He'd built up the colors but still kept it soft, which was why he favored and in fact only used water colors. Another painting was more exotic with a rainforest type scene and some orchids painted, climbing up a tree. The orchid was based off one he owned, so he'd gotten it's form right.

Gently smiled and nodded her head. She would not spill coffee on his paintings. That was her new goal in life, and she would bend her will to achieve it. Anyway, she would just feel terrible if she let herself do something like that, and that was not an option.

Being happy or at least upbeat was much easier and much more fun. She had never been good at being depressed.

She recognized the car and moved to the back to look at the pictures in the boot. She nodded her head eagerly and carefully moved the blankets, as if the paintings underneath were made of glass or something even more breakable.

She instantly got absorbed in the paintings underneath. These were the things she liked the most.

Little scenes, days in the life of. Of course, these were natural, but it was just the same. Plants were as alive as people, after all, and there didn't need to be a person in the picture for it to count as a day in the life of something.

"These are really beautiful. I love this pond. Everything about these is really... tranquil." She looked at him, not much from commenting on art but she was at least telling him what she really felt when she looked at them. "You're really skilled!"

Laughing he felt his cheeks warm, ducking his head he turned back to her a moment later. "The time it takes is worth it, especially when someone gets the mood and understands it." He spoke smiling lightly. "I don't like painting people, it feels like you have to be perfect with the persons face and honestly perfection is impossible to achieve." And by not doing so it felt...off.

"I prefer nature, it's not quite so perfect and yet doesn't come off as wrong by being less than perfect. Plus I can add and take where I feel like doing so." It was a matter of what he felt like painting and where he felt like painting it. It was a lot nicer to paint nature anyway, something you may never see outside of a painting, something from a persons imagination. The images were just...different from everything else.

"If you like the pond the best you can keep it." He spoke sincerely, he'd planned on letting her have whichever she liked the most. He had his peaceful scene hanging in his room, unframed. Just a canvas painted upon. He'd gone with a scene of rain and a willow tree with a pond. He'd done a pond in it so he could do the distorted, by the rain, reflections. It was something he'd painted, or started, on a rainy drippy and dreary afternoon.

"I'm no master, and I wouldn't ever hang my paintings in a gallery, but I think they do a good job of what I think all paintings should." That was to convey some message, some feeling, to any and everyone who looked at it. It was another reason to avoid people, some people would just walk right by a portrait painting. But a nature scene he felt was less likely to be passed up.

"I think you're right. And a lot of time, trying to be perfect just makes you snooty," she grinned brightly, making a joke but also meaning it in her way. She liked modest people well enough, but there was a grace in confidence. Hell, she boasted and loved getting people to notice whenever she did something she was very proud of.

But she didn't think she was snooty or pompous about it. It was difficult for her to even describe to herself. She bragged and made big shows, particularly when she was doing her Nega work, but she also worked with others and gave them credit where it was due. She didn't think her work was the end all, and didn't want to stop people from being better than her.

The challenge just kept her going.

She wondered why the art world couldn't be more open to that. At least, the people she was imagining. The perfectionists who felt they were the top of their craft. How boring.

It was good that Alexandre didn't act like that.

"Are you sure?" she asked, wide eyed, "I would love to put it up in my house! But I can pay you for it, like a proper artist, right? It's definitely worth it and something I would be honored to pay you for. It's so beautiful."

Alexandre was unlike Gently in that way. Perhaps not with art, art was of peoples opinion and their were all sorts of forms and styles. He was however arrogant with many things, and just in general. Add to it the fact he often spoke his thoughts aloud, though as of late he was working on it a bit, he still found it exceedingly difficult to hold back on telling others his thoughts and opinions. He doubted being newly brought in to the Negaverse would change this about him, it might even make it worse. But to him this wasn't a bad thing

"I'm sure, if it brings you good feelings and you like it. Then it's yours." Smiling as he sat himself in the trunk of his suv, letting his feet dangle. There was no way his feet would ever touch the ground, he was short for his age and his gender. He knew both of these things, and was rather used to it. "And no need to pay, I paint for fun. Not for money or anything of the sort. If you have friends who like it I'll let them see what I have...maybe loose a few canvases. I seem to be collecting painted works."

"I believe that means I'll have to drop you off at home, so I can bring the painting in for you." Smiling at the short haired female.

Gently chuckled and nodded her head.

"Well, if you insist! But I will have to pay you back some time, so you're starting a gift war with me now, you know." She smile at him appreciatively. And she meant it: it was always fun to repay a kindness in turn, so she would have to come up with something for him. Maybe she could build him a gizmo. She hadn't done that in a while. Something likely impractical and making a simple process unnecessarily complicated, but fun because of that.

She'd have to figure out something fun. Like a paint brush washer, or something like that.

"If you could! I'll give you the directions, instead of making you guess your way. As fun as that would be, of course." She chuckled, imagining they'd end up all the way on the other end of the city if they played that game.

Hot and Cold with driving directions wasn't as fun in practice as it was in theory.

"I think I can handle a gift war. I'll just have to get to know you better so I can win." He stated, grinning at Gently. "I am good at gifting people." Once he knew what they liked. She'd have to find out about him, or something...just go with the fact he liked painting?

"That would be good, I don't think getting lost in the city would be a good way to spend the day. Next time we meet you can repay me with that espresso. You could count that as your pay back?" He questioned, as a way to help her find a way to pay him back.

"We'll have to meet up more, especially before school starts for me." Sliding out of the trunk he started to wrap the paintings back up, making sure the pond painting was on top. "Shall we be heading off?" He asked, with a smile given to the other.

"We can meet up for various things, things which deal with the arts perhaps?"

Gently had enough clues from their conversations and meetings for a few gift ideas already, so she was eager to prove that no one could out do her in anything she tried, regardless of their own confidence. Sometimes she got a little too wrapped up in the games she played, but that never hurt any one.

Unless she wanted or needed it to, but that was only ever when she was 'working'.

"Oh, you leave the pay back to me. The expresso is already settling another debt, for you coming to the audition with me. I am a fastidious note taker, I won't mix up these details."

She grinned at him.

"I like that plan! Whenever I find something art-y, I'll give you a ring." She moved to the passenger side door, smiling brightly and confidently, though it was clear she expected him to politely open the door for her. Was it still gentlemanly when it was forced? She thought so.

Smiling he shook his head. "Somehow I'm not at all surprised. I will leave the pay back to you, while I plan to pay you back for each gift." He knew some about her, he'd have to work on learning more about Gently so he could better find gifts for her.

"That sounds good, and I shall give you a call should I hear about anything interesting and dealing with theater." He went to enough social events, as much as he disliked them, to hear about all manner of things including productions and such.

Seeing her at the door, waiting, he figured it out fairly fast. "A proper lady, expecting for someone to open a door for her. Not a normal thing in this day and age, a man showing such proper manners." Though it did happen. Some, or a lot, of things died out with the changing in times.

"You strike me as rather proper in general though...." Which might help him with gifting ideas, maybe not. He'd see.

With the door open he waited for her to get in and buckle up before going around to the drivers side. He had to climb in, grabbing the wheel and hauling himself in. He was a little on the short side and there was no step up. It wasn't anything too bad, and it was better than a car really. "Alright, now for those directions?"
