Vaguely, Requiem wondered if it would ever be possible for him to stop flushing so red around Lycander. The other boy had a way of making him feel quite awkward at times, especially since he was so confident and seemed to know so much more than he did; but at the same time, he'd never felt more comfortable around someone else before - especially when that someone else was a human being. Standing on the outside, Requiem was very used to being closed off, keeping himself at a distance from the humans that were so wary of him. He had grown up believing himself to be less than a human being, someone who belonged on the outside, but with Lycander there was no separation. There was no clear drawn line, and Lycander treated him as an equal, which in turn made Requiem feel that awkwardness, his cheeks stained what he felt would be a permanent red.

"Er," he said, rubbing the back of his neck absently. "I don't think I know how to ride a bike. At least, I don't remember ever learning."

Requiem paused, trying to remember a "darling witchling" with "long, flowing, pale blonde hair and always had a bow in her hair," but nothing came to mind. He gave a small shrug, his shoulder rising and falling uselessly, but then Lycander changed the subject, and Requiem, grateful, said "I think I'll be able to do that. Your judgment is better than mine when it comes to this sort of thing, anyway. I'm not...very particular when it comes to how my room looks, but..." He hesitated, twiddling his fingers together as he gave his new roommate a mildly puzzled look. "Colors?" The word was repeated as if he had no idea what it meant, but at least it made Requiem think.

Being around Lycander was both exhausting and interesting. The young man tended to go from one subject to the other without even drawing breath, it seemed, and he was constantly on the move, moving from one thing to another without pausing. A person who knew what he wanted, did what he wanted, yet still respected others and how they acted. He was capable of doing several things at once and still maintain focus over all of them, which was something Requiem had not yet achieved.

He listened quietly as Lycander spoke, his hands slipped into his pockets. "I haven't had that feeling yet," he said, after a moment, brushing a few strands of hair away from his face. "I suppose it's because it's so recent, but I wonder if it's even possible for a Majin to have the same sort of feelings as a human."

They both lapsed into silence for another few minutes, the town around them bustling and busy as various people walked back and forth, chattering and laughing amongst themselves. Then Requiem, his cheeks still flushed, looked over at his friend and said, very quietly "...I'm glad you're my roommate, Lycander."

The redhead glanced at Requiem with a curious look, something he seemed to be doing a lot of lately. "Really?" Lycander blinked a couple times. "Huh. Well not everyone knows how to or learns. Not a tough thing, really. Maybe something we can try out later? See if you have any interest in learning? Pretty sure that my folks have a spare bike sitting off somewhere in the sideyard." He was more than sure, actually. There had definitely been a bike back there the last time he visited, which hadn't been that long ago. In fact, he remembered it quite clearly because he and his brother had tripped over the thing. The real question was, how good of shape was it in? Something he'd have to inquire about.

Lycander had to laugh. It wasn't mocking or condescending in any way. He was excited about helping out his roommate. "Don't worry! You'll see what I mean once we start shopping. I bet, by the end of the day, I'll have at least taught you the fine art of choosing colors that make you feel relaxed and comfortable. You would be surprised at how often some people don't think about how colors affect a room. Since this is your room, we'll have to determine first what color you find yourself drawn to the most. Hmm..." His mind was already running through a list of colors that could possibly work for Requiem. "Maybe naturals. Or neutral colors with a few secondaries thrown in there?" The redhead was more so talking out loud to himself while he thought and trying to see if any color popped out in Requiem's mind. "Ah well. We'll see soon enough! And furniture shall come first anyways. That should be fun. We get to pick out chairs, a couch of some sort, dining table, TV and radio...." It probably all sounded daunting to the quiet one beside him, but Lycander wasn't afraid! He was good at this. And equally good at getting deals on things.

He smiled, something warm and soft, as he glanced over at Requiem. "Give it time. You're a brand new witch, after all." The smile didn't change, but his gaze shifted ever so slightly. "And why would you think that? You feel happy when you play the piano, don't you? I feel happy when I listen, when I shop, or when I meet someone new. You feel a sort of sadness at not having many people to call friend (okay he really didn't know this one for sure). I feel sad when I lose a friend. And you," he nudged Requiem with his arm. "You felt shock just as equally as I did when you walked into that apartment and saw me standing there. The same feelings as a human. So, obviously, you feel the same things. Which means, by all of the above, you will also feel something of a similar fashion to what I spoke of."

As they walked along in silence for a few minutes, Lycander smiled at those they passed, eyed some of the shop windows and their contents, made note of some shops to come back to on a later date. He felt right at home and in his element, so to speak. But more importantly (to him anyways) he was not here alone. He was here with a friend. Who's quiet voice caught his attention like sugar to a mosquito, even among the added sounds of laughter, people scuffling about the streets, shop doors jingling and all manner of noise in a town. Lycander gave Requiem a long look, a sincere smile forming to accompany his warm emerald gaze. "Me too, Requiem. I'm glad you're my roommate."
