Apart from killing her, what connection to Rei did Naoko have? I not saying you are all wrong.. I just want to know how Rei could possibly synch with a whore like Naoko. 3nodding

The Nevada Branch and Unit 04 actually disapeared (in the Manga, there is a crater, I don't remember about the Anime) when they inserted the S2 engine into Unit 04. Ritsko, in the Manga says that the S2 engine was inserted, the Eva Until created a Sea of Dirac (like the one Shinji gets sucked into against the Twelvth Angel)
I think that's the same in the Anime, but I haven't gotten to watch it recently

I just want to know how Rei could possibly synch with a whore like Naoko. 3nodding umm...she never got that good of a synch ratio and the first few times were....not so fun....if you remember, i think Naoko realized that there was no other choice

I dunno, really. Naoko as Unit-00's soul just doesn't really work for me. Yeah, it all seems to fit with Unit-00 trying to take out Gendo and rejecting Rei so often.. maybe it's just because I didn't like the women or something, lol.

I always thought it was Naoko because of the fact that, not only did she try to kill Rei and Gendo, but when Shinji was in it, Unit 00 went berzerk that time too. Yui's son in her cokpit did not make her happy.

i kond of only read two posts so i don't know if this came up or not. rei is an agel like kouru right? so she should have the same powers as kouru. then does it matter which eva she is piloting. i know some people are gowing to say " well why didn't she use them?" its becouse she didn't want to stand out to the others so gendou and ritsuko's secrets would remain safe.

Since Rei is not from a family, you could replace the mother figure as Naoko and the father as Gendou. Naoko was the one Gendou slept with after his wife was stuck inside Unit-01. She was Gendou's second fiddle. Not a pleasant relationship. She was probably jealous of Yui and attacked her son as revenge, maybe? Can't say much about the attack on Shinji as I haven't seen it. Attacking Gendou and Rei would fit because Rei was Gendou's obsession and in her eyes a monster. Gendou killed her, which would explain why he was attacked.
As Messiah said, they had to be born after Second Impact. After SI, there was a lot of radiation and caused people to change (that explains why Misato's natural hair color is purple). The mutations from the radiation were probably what let the children pilot. If I remember correctly, it's around 9 months after SI happened?

It was? sweatdrop Whoops.... well if you pay attention to what Shinji's teacher says he mentions something about radiation and all he talks about is Second Impact, so I just thought that's how the children could pilot and stuff....
