There was no reply. Honestly, she was a little glad for it--what else was she supposed to do other than apologize? If she could have gone back in time, she definitely would have made some changes. To think that this spawned from dancing with someone who she usually didn't get along with in the first place! If that wasn't ironic, Xiu didn't know what was.
Glancing down at her phone, the Baku tossed it onto her pillow without a word and stood up. A walk. That's what she needed. She needed to get out of the demon dorms, get some fresh air, and clear her mind for a bit. There was too much to mull over.
She didn't consider the possibility that she might run into a friend--or someone else--while she was on her walk. Her intention was simply to go outside and do a round around the campus before returning. It wouldn't take more than half an hour at most, she was certain, and if Lizzy, Mitsu, or another friend spotted her and noticed her troubled expression...well, she would just have to make an excuse and slip away.

Trixie was not in the mood to go out. The purple tentacle was simply content to laze that day despite its owner's apparent agitation. No amount of begging, threatening, or leash pulling was going to make it move. Especially when it had all its tentacles wrapped tightly around the heavy dresser.
"FINE! Be that way! Just be one more thing that proves I am of no significance whatsoever"! Tess screamed, her mood turning for the worse with each passing moment. With an angry huff, the expression on her face turned ugly before she headed outside to fly off some steam. She didn't think she'd run into anyone she knew and if she did, she would have to bottle up her rage for the moment. She couldn't let them see this rather unpleasant and petty side of her. She didn't think they'd want to keep being her friend otherwise.

When she made her way down the stairs and out the demon dorm, the first thing Xiu did was take a long, deep breath. This was some situation she had found herself in, wasn't it? Her attempt at being silly and getting Mac to dance had backfired completely. Or rather, she her actions had been terribly oblivious and--in hindsight--insensitive and rude.
Ahh, what was she going to do?
Again, the thought of apologizing in person crossed her mind, but...perhaps now wasn't the best time. Maritess sounded rather upset, and Xiu was certain that it would be best if she let the other ghoul cool down for a bit before she tried to apologize again. It would also give her some time to buy or make a gift of some kind.
As she followed the path from the demon dorms--and to the undead dorms--the Baku frowned thoughtfully. She just had to figure out what to get her, and when to deliver it. At the very least, she would give it a week before asking to meet with this Maritess ghoul. To be honest, she was...a little terrified at how she would react.

Her hands were clenching and unclenching at the hem of her blouse from agitation as she flew out of the undead dorms. Her wings were beating harder than normal, which meant she was flying at a speed she wasn't all that accustomed to but she didn't particularly care at that moment. She really should have though, because if she did, she might have managed to swerve to the left or right in time to keep herself from ramming right into a certain pale-haired ghoul that was walking down the path.
"AUGH!" was the only sound Maritess uttered as her large, leathery wings flapped about in a panic. If either of her wings ended up smacking against the ghoul she'd already collided with, Tess didn't mean it.

Xiu had never seen the ghoul flying at her, but she had definitely felt when she was collided into. Thrown off balance by the impact and the frantically flapping wings, the Baku staggered backwards off the path, landing ungracefully in a grassy patch.
Ouch.
Groaning, she pushed herself up into a sitting position. There was a pause, and then she suddenly looked up, eyes wide. Right, the person who had run into her--were they alright? With a wince, she pushed herself to her feet, catching sight of the figure that must have belonged to the ghoul who had flown into her. "A-are you alright!? I--..."
................
She looked familiar.

When Tess steadied herself, ready to apologize, the embarrassed look on her face changed into one of stoney silence. There were many things the winged ghoul needed at that moment. Serenity. Calm. Poise. A full-body cast. Her legs. Distance. Perspective. Maybe something to suck on. The list could go on! What she didn't need, however, was to run into the ghoul who was, quite frankly, the cause of her currently aggravated state.
However, there was no avoiding it, it seemed. She forced a smile on her face, her eyes tapering into slits as she offered her hand, feigning ignorance of the other ghoul's identity. "O-oh my Jack! I am sooooo sorry about that! Here, let me help you up!"

The offer caught her completely off guard. Wasn't this...the ghoul who she had just been speaking to? Maritess? Or...no, maybe it wasn't? After all, she hadn't gotten a good glimpse of her during prom, and with everyone dressed up...
Shaking her head, Xiu hesitantly reached out to take the ghoul's outstretched hand. "N-no, it was my fault, I...I should have been more careful." There was an apologetic smile on her face, though her expression held a bit of wariness as well. She wasn't sure why she felt this way, though. If this ghoul really was Maritess...then considering how angry she had seemed over Groanspring, why was she being so nice now?
The Baku was a little naive.
"Are...are you alright?"

Tess resisted the urge to tighten her grip on the other ghoul's hand to painful levels. She continued to pretend she had no idea whom she was talking to, the bright, cheery smile never leaving her lips.
"Oh yes, I'm quite alright. This is a welcomed distraction actually. How about you? My wings didn't hit you too hard, did they?" she asked, feigning concern as her hands rose to her lips with a gasp.

After being pulled back onto her feet, the Baku winced again at the pain where she had smacked into the ground. However, this pain was lessened slightly by the fact that she was a little distracted by the ghoul's presence and by her words. Did she really not recognize her? Xiu could take this chance to politely excuse herself and flee, so that she was more properly prepared (and by that, she meant she would have an apology basket) the next time they met.
...But that would be awfully cowardly of her, wouldn't it?
"N-no, I'm...I'm alright, thank you." She managed a weak smile, but then she couldn't help but let her expression turn into one of concern. Feeling her heart pick up pace in her anxiety, Xiu managed to ask, "You....you're miss Maritess, right?" Would she recognize her now?
