Jayden tutted her before a menacing purr escaped his lips; his eyes glowed softly as he watched her. Perhaps she was simply not the brightest of creatures, or perhaps she was simply not afraid of him or what he was? He didn't know, but one thing was for sure.... this 'Echo' had guts.
He moved one of his large bat wings and captured her chin as he turned her head gentle from side to side, it was an action he was sure she would not suspect from him, after all it was far to soft to be that of a deadly predator... but Jayden had practised, from years of collecting rare and fragile objects. "There would be no fun in drowning you little prey." He purred the words, a seductive but menacing tone that seemed to come naturally to him. "No...." He paused to watch her for a moment. "There are many other things that I have in mind for you." Vanity, his twin sister, was encouraging him to breed.... to produce spawn to aid them in their fight against the weak and the worthless, and although part of him understood that she had meant he seek Kalona blood -as it was their original heritage- but perhaps adding something 'new' into the mix would produce far more interesting results.
After all... who would ever see a Kalona made of stone coming? He grinned, flashing pointed fangs. It could be a way to bring strength to their bloodline? And if none had wings? Well he would either have to destroy them.... or simply abandon them as a lost cause.
He echoed her words, purring once more, "Where is the fun..... little prey."

There wasn't much he could gain from her death since he couldn't eat her and no-one was watching. The problem with witnesses is that they'd probabbly run before they could help or check up on in fear of being food. The inquisitive would come back and have a dive only to find that she was....a statue.
If enough people witnessed this it could leave way for a small folk tale, soquili would probably for him better in terms of levels of fear if they thought they could turn into a statue...but why would he want to waste food?
Echo's eyes winded and focused on Jayden as the walker looked at her features gently from side to side, she wasn't sure whether it was her or her helmet he saw as having some value. She knew he was lying, there would be at least some fun but it wouldn't satisfy anything for a long time. She smiled menacingly,"but you wouldn't be foolish enough to tell me your evil plan." But he did tell her he had one and that gave her time to think about a map of possibilities, but then again he was unpredictable and she scrapped them.
By far he was the hardest soquili to figure out, there was his teeth gritting hungry and then next he would be purring in a gentle manner, although she knew it was now leading somewhere bad, hopefully she could at least prolong the time she had left before she died.
Echo mimicked him and licked her lips in a slightly mocking way,"you tell me."

Jadyen tutted at her again, Now, now, little prey..... are you not even going to guess?" He brought his face closer, so that they were almost nose to nose; he could smell her breath and so he knew she could smell his -he guessed it was a combination of his kills blood and the water he had drunk- his shining yellow eyes bore into her for a moment before he released her completely and stepped back.
A yawn escaped him as he looked around, it seemed quite, most of the small animals having fled with his earlier activity; they would have privacy for a while at least. He smirked.... would anyone hear her should she try to scream?
Deciding to change his tactics Jayden asked in a nonchalance way, "Tell me little prey, have you ever been with a man before?"

"If I were to guess it'd probabbly be wrong." And she didn't want to step a foot wrong around Jayden yet. Well...she definitely could smell carnivorous death in his breath but it wasn't like he cared, his words rattled around her brain, 'If it's not bloody and fresh then I don't want it.'
She knew all he wanted was to get in, and grab his prize and then get out since he couldn't eat her and his presences seemed to radiate out to all creature which appeared to flee or stay hidden.
Echo regarded him unsurprised, to her it was a path way to not getting killed just yet,"No I haven't. Why? Are you offering to show me", she asked and pouted in a giggly kissy face way.

Jayden hissed at her, "Do not push me little prey! You will learn quickly that I am not some stallion for you to seduce." He growled, the sound echoing slightly around him again. He supposed that the male part of him was flattered by her femine attentions, even though they may have been more mocking than realistic.... yet the beast heart within him wanted nothing to do with the mockery of courtship. He was not a romantic, never had been, it was simply not in his genes.
Jayden found himself tempted to bite the mare, to teach her a lesson, but he held himself under control.... for now at least.
Looking away from her Jayden focused on the fast flowing stream. It raced by, stumbling and thumbling over rocks on it's pointless journey to an end. It was race.... and Jayden expected to win every race.
He turned back to Echo then, saying three simple words with all the possessiveness he possessed. "You are MINE!" The words were said in a mixture of a growl, hiss and a purr.

At first his telling her off didn't threaten her too much unless he was prepared to roll her off into the river now. "It's not the kind of thing I've ever tried to do so why would I start now?" She instantly wished she could take her words back. She huffed at him, her ears flattened firmly down in his moment of possessive madness. Her stone figure and internal fear glued her to where she was standing and her legs suddenly became very heavy. She bowed her head because it was always a reoccurring thought that she was in too deep. "Just tell me what you want and I'm yours", she spoke with an unquivering flat voice.
She lifted her head to look straight back at him again with her ears finding a new confidence to rise. She sighed again and bit her lip impatiently.

Jayden purred slightly, doing his best to control the temper that was daring to overwhelm him at any moment. "Well my little prey.... I plan to make you mine. At least for a day or two..... " He stepped closer to her, inching his head closer to hers until his mouth was next to her ear, he growled slightly, more of a seductive noise than one born out of anger. "...you little prey.... shall carry my children."
Deciding that was all he needed to say he stepped back and starred at her again. Rock and Darkness, Glass and Night..... oh what fun this would be.

Echo nodded,"I understand." It was her only 'safe' option and she was interested in what would happen in the future. His purrs tickled her ears.
Would it be the making of another few monsters only time would tell, but whatever happened she'd always do her best to protect everybody. There was no being sure that he wouldn't try to eat them himself. She looked at the walker and quietly spoke,"I will."
Echo followed the walker and never looked back.
