As the pair rounded the back of the building, the manx's nose was already sniffing the air. Yes, there was definitely some new goods in the dumpster. And as far as she could tell, there weren't any homeless people nearby either (they weren't usually too hard to smell if they were present).
"Oooo... I think I smell some cheese bread back here! Maybe some onion rolls too. Oh gosh... so much good stuff!" From her perch, she was bobbing up and down excitedly, as if she couldn't wait to get a piece of the action in the big garbage bin. She stretched out her neck and gave a few deep sniffs, making sure she didn't get her assessment wrong.
"I think there's some cinnamon bread in there too!" she added after those extra sniffs. Her stomach, if it was able to, would have been doing some back flips in an effort to get some of that food. However, it had to rely on the rest of the cat to make that happen.
So she didn't hesitate to ask, "Could you please set me down at the lip of the bin over there, Themis?"

Oh. That was why she wanted him to go back here.
Dumpsters.
Urgh.
He wanted to argue that this was gross and he could buy her something that doesn't come out of a trash can that's been god only even knew where, but really - she didn't seem to mind, and she'd be the one to eat it anyway.
He'll just have to... politely decline sharing in her bounty. He let her down where she'd asked, then leaned against the brick wall that made the back of the bakery.

Pretty much the moment she was set down, the feline then giggled and practically jumped into the dumpster. It was totally a very squishy landing if anything. There was plenty of relatively good conditioned bread in the dumpster. The manx landed somewhere between a large cheese bread loaf and a plain old sourdough bun. She couldn't help but giggle a bit before adding a bit of commentary.
"It really is a shame that all of this good food essentially goes to waste. The homeless shelter up the street could have used such a donation."
Oh well, this meant more for her right now. With that, she stuffed her mouth as full as she could manage with cheese bread. She didn't exactly have a big mouth, so it wasn't exactly all that much in her mouth. She chewed and chewed until the food went down.
"So do you have any plans after this, Themis? Or are you just patrolling to kill time?" Question asked, she resumed the task of eating.

"Yeah... I wonder why they don't do that..." It wasn't like that bread wasn't still edible... Before it had went in the dumpster, that is.
He still wasn't eating any of that.
"Im probably gonna sleep after this." He shrugged. "I've had a long work day..." On these days he didn't stay out very long, but he forced himself to go on patrol anyway.

********* had gone from the cheese bread to some cinnamon bread. Between chewing, she mentioned "If I were able, I'd suggest it to the owner. Alas... I am only a cat... so they won't be listening to me any time soon." Not that ********* actually spoke to too many normal individuals. Last thing she needed was to be exploited for her ability to talk. The senshi wouldn't dream of exploiting such a thing, and the Negaverse agents had different plans for the talking cats than merely exploiting their ability to talk. From what she had gathered, it probably had something to do with silencing instead of getting them to chat.
Her garbage bin buffet continued on as she moved from the cinnamon bread to what seemed like a whole wheat loaf. Hopping from the pile to the next, ********* took another bite. "Ah... do you still work at that video game store? I think that's where I saw you walk out of when we first met..."

She couldn't. of course - it was much too dangerous. ********* had her own cover to keep, like all of them, even if it was a little different.
But him, on the other hand... Hmm.
Perhaps he could. Through he wasn't sure if he wanted to explain how he knew of the bread ended up in the dumpster, but perhaps it was all in the way of saying it.
He'd have to think on it.
"Yeah, I still do." He nodded, even through the cat couldn't see him, most likely - he learned against the dumpster. "Made it to assistant manager. The pay is nice but sometimes it really sucks."

She had managed to get two bites of whole wheat bread before she went onto the next loaf. This one was a garlic loaf with the chunks of garlic baked into the bread itself. Very very delicious, but some people weren't all that fond of how stinky it made everything afterwards. ********* was not one of those people (for in fact, she was a cat).
"Well, there's something to be said for that... as with nearly anything else in life. Better rewards come to those who take on more responsibilities." It was a simplistic way of explaining it, but it did make sense. It wasn't always true, but that always varied based upon individual outlook.
********* probably could have lived in that dumpster for a few months and live off the breads in there, but alas, all things needed to come to an end. She had managed to make it so her tummy was no longer being loud, and she was feeling decently full (but not bloated). In a sing-song tone, the feline then called out "Theeeeeeemiiiis!" She mewled a couple times, as if signaling she was ready to get scooped out of the bin.

Well, that depended on what and how, as far as Themis was concerned, but he knew better than to mention that. Truth was, he did like helping, protecting, and saving people, deep down, in spite of all the trouble being a senshi had given him.
Like a well trained cat owner, Themis answered the mewlings and lifted himself up to be able to scoop the tailless cat from the bin, setting her on his shoulder again so he could more easily hop back down.

Settling in where she was placed, ********* glanced to the boy's face that was quite close to her now. "I hope you don't mind garlic breath from an itty bitty kitty. If you do, I promise I won't breathe on you."
At least she was considerate enough to leave the option there, but she did have to think about the fact her mouth was tiny when compared to an animal like a dog. It wasn't exactly like she'd be panting doggy-breath mixed with garlic breath on Themis.
"So, work is keeping you busy, as is the senshi thing... do you ever have time to relax, or at least have a bit of fun?"

"Oh, that's fine." He couldn't help but be a little amused, really. He doubted a tiny kitty mouth would be enough to cause any discomfort, really. Unless she was going out of her way to be obnoxious, but he seriously doubted she would.
"Not as much as I used to." He shook his head, careful not to smack her in the process, and set on walking again. He tended to keep on the move as much as possible, since it was much easier to pinpoint an aura that wasn't in motion. "I get a few minutes there and there to work on a mix..."
But some things were more important than his personal enjoyment, really.

Itty Bitty Kitty breath was no problem, huzzah! It wasn't exactly like it would have been extremely difficult to merely turn her head, but at the moment, she preferred the idea of looking to what she could best call a quarter view of his face. Getting a full face-to-face look at him while talking meant she couldn't ride around on his shoulder, so the quarter view was acceptable for now.
"...'a few minutes there and there to work on a mix'... pray tell, what does that mean?" ********* wasn't stupid, but she also wasn't exactly an indoor cat who was familiar with every hobby that ever existed in the world ever. This was just one of those things she wasn't familiar with.

It hadn't occurred at all that ********* might not know what he might be talking about, so when the question came he couldn't help but be a little surprised.
"Oh, I make music." He clarified. "It would probably be easier to have you listen than try to explain... really." Electronika and trance would probably mean little for the cat, either.

"Music... oh, that sounds fun!" ********* sounded quite enthusiastic and willing to learn, even with such a simple exclamation. "What sort of instrument does one need to play in order to 'work on a mix?' Hopefully it's not one of those instruments that requires cats for the strings or anything." Despite her words, she didn't sound all that distressed at all. It almost sounded as if she knew that it wasn't the normal sort of music created by a classical instrument.

"Mostly a computer and a turntable... Though I play some guitar. Im not very good at it, but... im learning." He said with a smile.
Well, ********* would make teeny teeny strings, anyway. And from the way one gloved hand rose up to pet the top of her head, the manx was very, very safe indeed.
He loved cats way too much to harm one, which would certainly mean bad news if he ever met a corrupted cat.

Computers were something that ********* understood. It was one of those advantages of being a Mauvian, though she never was exceptional with the technology. She was probably considered to be just average when it came to Mauvian technology.
Turntables, on the other paw, were not anything that the manx would have been familiar with. It wasn't beyond her to confess such a thing in fact.
"I am familiar with computers and guitars, but you will have to elaborate a bit on the 'turntable'... if you are willing to break it down for a silly cat such as myself."
