Alfred---Barcel---Scarlet

Alfred maintained his defensive position, only shifting to allow his arms to fold around Sai as though she were some stuffed toy. The Flygon frowned, blinking rapidly behind her goggles at the Glaceon's explaination.
"I see, I'm not sure-" Barcel had advanced forward then, peering around the dragon with a frown of his own.
"That won't need stitches. It should heal fine without, slap a bandage on it and send them home."Scarlet seemed torn, though she voiced her objections readily, "To you maybe, Barcy, but an injury like this for a smaller Pokemon is far more serious than it'd be on you Mr. Steel type and we can't send them home now in this weather."The Empoleon gave a squawk of annoyance, turning to exit the room to the back with curses muttered in audible whispers.
Shaking her head, the Flygon shifted around behind the two on her couch and in one quick movement had wound a strip of bandages around Alfred's lower torso before tying it back and allowing his coat to fall back over it.
Her voice took on a motherly-tone as she curled back around so she could face the duo.
"There. That should be fine. Now, you two still look dreadful..." They were rather frail-looking Pokemon weren't they? Arceus, what would they have done if Barcel hadn't wandered up, the thought made her shudder. They got storms frequently when the water type went on his strolls. He used Rain Dance to water the plants, but sometimes it got out of hand.
"Tea. I'll get some tea. I hope you don't mind Oran Berry tea, it's our favorite you see."
She gave a slight hop over the couch to trot into the next room, assumedly the kitchen which is where Barcel had wandered off to.
Alfred shifted uncomfortably. They seemed nice, although the Empoleon was somewhat stoic. Who did that remind him of?
Ah well. The room itself, once you got over the sharp and pointy death that was displayed, was rather cozy. There were shelves lined with books as well as plants. He recognized one as a smaller version of the flowering tree he and Sai had been sitting under before.
Gently moving the Glaceon from his lap the Gardevoir stood, eyes going to an intricate wooden chest that was tall enough to reach his shoulders.
Well, it was tall to him.
It had caught his attention for some reason and curiousity overwhelmed as he inched forward to investigate. Barcel's warning of 'Don't touch anything' had been forgotten entirely.
As he lifted a hand to the lid, the Flygon returned with a cheerful coo of delight. It wasn't often she got guests. Let alone such adorable ones.
Noticing Alfred having wandered off she set the tray down in front of Sai to step over with a smile.
"Barcel is not the only collector here. I've got my own collection as well~" Her tail flicked upward to tip the lid up and then back to display the chests contents.
Alfred flinched at the sound the hinges made as they creaked, it hadn't been opened in ages it seemed, but upon spotting what lay within he couldn't help but give a laugh. Probably the first one he'd had in a good while.
"Stuffed Pokemon?"
"Plushies, to be exact. Barcy hates them, so I keep them here and out of sight less he try to toss them away."And no wonder. Just the appearance of the toys made the room of weaponry seem less dangerous.
Alfred picked one up absentmindedly while the Flygon resumed her post at the tea tray to pour the cups.
Looking at it more closely it was clearly a Flareon, but the colors had faded from it almost completely leaving it a dull gray.
"Sai." The Gardevoir turned, holding it up for inspection, "It looks like Epitaph!"
The name came from nowhere. He'd been introduced to the Flareon properly only once, before the attacks. It had resurfaced on it's own with almost no incentive, but Alfred didn't realize the strangeness of the situation yet. Far too amused at the moment.

Sai's attention fell on Scarlet as Alfred left the couch and she promptly shifted into a sit. That event went by far easier than she actually hoped it would and Alfred seemed perfectly fine. She gave a relieved smile and made a slight nod as the tray was placed before her. "Collecting sounds neat. I never considered it." Well. Maybe she did collect, in a sense. Her team room was mostly stacks upon stacks of books-- not including the walls lined with more books. She was always a reader. "It is cute though." The Glaceon's eyes met Alfred again as he examined the plushies within the chest. With a swift blink, her expression turned to confusion as he addressed her. Naturally, she just smiled again at the sight of the plushie. "It does look like mom." Her tail flicked behind her as she chuckled. What made it humorous was mainly the size compared to her mother herself.

Sai's attention fell on the tray before her and she carefully took the cup up in her front paws before carefully leaning back against the couch.Having something to lean against made sitting up so much easier. She took a quick sip before turning her attention toward Scarlet again. "I've never been around here before. It's nice. Have you and Barcel always lived here?"

Alfred---Barcel---Scarlet

Scarlet smiled, glancing over at Alfred for a moment. The Gardevoir seemed greatly interested in the plush toys, they were rather well made. You could see each individual seem on all of them and the button-eyes were in various colors and designs.
The Flygon hooked her claws around the handle of a slightly larger cup than the one Sai held, her goggled eyes glanced down in thought at the question before lifting her head and waving her free hand at a picture on the wall closest to them.
"We were a rescue team, ages ago." The picture showed a large, black and red Piplup with his fins on his hips and a smug expression on his face. Hiding behind him was another Pokemon, a small teal-colored Trapinch that seemed upset over the camera pointing at them. Scarlet shook her head, she use to be such a shy thing. Not anymore though.
"When Barcel's father died we left the guilds and went to work in his blacksmithing shop. Barcy had been going to inherit it, but it was pushed on him sooner than we'd have liked. As for me, I've always been there with him. His family found my egg, abandoned, and raised me alongside him. It only seemed naturally we stayed together."The Dragon lifted the cup to her mouth, opening her jaws and simply pouring the contents right into her open maw. The tea spilled down over sharp teeth, she could probably eat Sai in one bite if she wanted, but it was clear she had no intentions of doing such a thing.
Listening, but not quite in the conversation, Alfred's ears flattened at the story and a small smile came to his face though he didn't turn around to display it. Instead he continued looking through Scarlet's collection, she didn't seem to mind and they were very impressive pieces. Looking down in his hand he noticed he'd picked up an Espeon one that had lost it's gem at some point. A frown crossed his face momentarily before he dropped it back into the chest.
For some reason it annoyed him.

Sai sat in place, staring at the Flygon intently. Her attention flickered on the picture for only a moment when gestured, but reeled back to Scarlet instantly. "A rescue team?" She repeated as if she didn't fully understand it, listening to the rest of her explanation. Were the guilds around that long? Were there other guilds? Not that Barcel or Scarlet seemed old at all, but it was for some reason odd. The Glaceon eventually just concluded that they were one in the same.
"Alfred and I are from the guilds too. Not together-- I mean. I'm a team leader, Alfred's a guildmaster." Saying it was weird. One could further wonder why they were together in the first place with such different positions. Sai was hardly a team leader. Ver did all the work. She herself was all too exhausted to do anything anymore though. No missions, no fighting to stop the end of the world, no nothing. She looked over at Alfred as he continued to raid the chest, and she smiled before looking at Scarlet again. "It sounds nice though, having someone to just hang out with. I'm not the most social one out there, but there's a big difference between those that exist to bother you and those you can actually relax around." Her team was all too much for her.

Alfred---Barcel---Scarlet

Scarlet nodding along as Sai explained, her eyes widening just slightly when she mentioned their ranks. It wasn't that such a frail Glaceon could be a leader that surprised her, but the Gardevoir was was apparently a guildmaster. He didn't seem, no offense to Alfred, like the most durable of Pokemon. Barcel could probably send him flying with a single twitch of his fin.
The comment was news to Alfred as well, who turned at the sound of his name holding an old and tattered-looking Scyther plushy in his hands. Guildmaster? He was? Wasn't that something he should have been aware of. The psychic frowned, the room was spinning and confusing him further.
He was a guildmaster? Of which guild? There was a guild that needed him somewhere and he was here doing nothing.
"Yes, he can be a bit of a brute at times but Barcy has always been my closest friend."
"Are you telling stories in here, woman?" The Empoleon returned, a large mug clutched between the claws of each finned hand. It steamed with heat and he held it from his face off to the side.
"Just telling Sai or our explorer days, back when the only guild was the Guild of Eclipse." The Flygon sighed at the thought, it'd been so much more peaceful then. Nowadays there was so much chaos about, you could barely step outside without tragedy befalling you.
"Hmph, I overheard. You two are from the guilds then? That might explain it, though why there is such a high bounty on a mere guildmaster is beyond me."
The Empoleon extended his free arm, clutched in his hand was a fresh piece of parchment with large black writing on it.
"You must have pissed someone off, boy." He commented to Alfred as his female companion took the paper.
"What is-"
"Found it stuck to the welcome sign outside the garden yesterday. Description matches this Gardevoir."
"What-?" Alfred stepped forward, paling at the information as it processed.
"It's a bounty on you. Someone wants you alive and taken to the Tower of Origins. The prize is a live Jirachi."
Which meant anything you could ever wish for. There would be many Pokemon who'd do anything to obtain such a prize.
"Tempting..." Barcel mused and at the word Alfred flinched back, raising the plushy still grasped in his hands in front of his face as though it offered some protection.
"Barcel!" Scarlet snapped, standing to full height to tower over the Empoleon. "Stop that!"
"It was a joke..." The dual type muttered with a growl, raising his mug to his beak before proceeding to ignore the Pokemon in the room.
The Flygon huffed, turning to crane her head down to Sai's level, a frown on her face.
"Don't worry. We wouldn't do such a thing, but maybe it's best I take you lot home. The storm seems to have cleared up." She waited Sai's response, glancing at Alfred in concern repeatedly as she did so.

Sai's expression changed from mutual amusement to fear at the mention of the bounty. That was crazy-- She figured Barcel was just messing with them until she stole a quick look as Scarlet took it. She grew uneasy as she quickly looked at Alfred, then Barcel as he continued. Was this a joke? That was sickening.
Her ears stood at Barcel's comment, making the Glaceon turn far too defensive for a but a moment until Scarlet snapped at him. She retreated, though only into a sickened feeling. She grew uneasy. She had to tell someone.
The remainder of the conversation was mostly ignored in favor of trying to read her own flooding thoughts as she set the cup down and stood on the couch. Sai quickly looked up at Scarlet when she posed the question, and swiftly nodded in agreement. "Can I have that flyer too?" She'd have to show someone. Who? Mom or Tolin took priority, but Tolin also knew more about... well... everything, than mom did.

"Of course." The Flygon readily passed the paper over to Sai, pausing to flick her wings out and stretch them one by one until they were fully extended. At full wingspan they stretched from one end of the room to the other, she could carry both small Pokemon easily.
The dragon dipped her head in silence to allow the Glaceon to step onto her back, the door itself was large enough for her to pass through easily even with her new cargo. Noting Alfred's hesitation to join them, Scarlet turned and plucked up the two plushies he'd taken an interest in before depositing them in his arms.
"You can have those, dear. Now come along, I promise I'm a very gentle flyer. No bumps or spins at all..."
The Gardevoir glanced to the side, clutching the Flareon and Scyther to his chest before stepping forward to join Sai on Scarlet's back.
Without a word to Barcel, she was still mad at him, the reptile stepped through the door and launched herself into the air to make quick pace back to the guilds.

The two Pokemon were, honestly, just a little surprised at the sudden snap of a teleport. Standing outside their home, they'd been going about their business as usual with little comments between them. They usually didn't speak to one another often, it wasn't necessary with them. They knew eachother inside out, so it was fortunate for the Gardevoir and Scyther that Scarlet knew how her partner would react before he reacted. The Empoleon, having been watering a nearby tree with a quick spray of an Aqua Jet, turned the attack into a full force blast at the two in his alarm. A pale green protect shield lifted between them, the water glancing harmlessly off to the side and across the grass.
"Barcel!" "They startled me!" The dual type complained once recognition fell. He only recalled Alfred, having not seen the Scyther before but Scarlet was well aware of Tolin as well as his place within the guilds. Sai had been most informative.
"Hello again, dear." The dragon cooed towards the Gardevoir while Tolin got a more respectful nod of the head.
"Can we help you?", The large water type's voice held an edge. Whether he was always this angry or if being caught off guard had triggered it, he gave no insight to. Barcel stepped up to join his Flygon companion with his eyes narrowed under the golden crown on his head. It cast a shadow that gave his stare a more intimidating look and rather than answering as he planned, Alfred retreated behind Tolin. The Empoleon was fairly scary, being as large and brash as he was. The comment he'd made before about the 'tempting' offer still lingered in the Gardevoir's head and although Scarlet was there and she was nice he decided to stick as close to Tolin as humanly[Pokemanly?] possible if only because Barcel was there.
Having no patience for such things, the Empoleon redirected his question and attention to Tolin.

The Scyther's arms came up to block the blast as a matter of reflex, but he was relieved to see the shield come up and block it in his place.
Normally he would have dodged the attack, but really he couldn't risk Alfred taking the blow.
His arms dropped back to his side when he was content in the knowledge that, apparently, he wasn't going to be murdered or have to murder today.
Well, probably anyways.
He turned his head slightly to the side to make it clear that he was addressing Scarlet specifically.
It was a cheap tactic and Barcel wouldn't be pleased, but he could deal with that after he had his foot in the door.
From how Scarlet had acted before, it was rather obvious that she would be willing to at least let them in the house.
"Alfred remembered seeing a picture the last time he was here. It reminded him of something he saw recently; would it be alright if we stepped inside and took a look at it?"
Once they were inside, Barcel really wouldn't have much choice other than to calm the hell down.
Scarlet wouldn't let him intimidate guests, after all.
Hopefully.

"Of course!" Scarlet stated at the same time Barcel's beak snapped open to issue a stern ''No.''The two glanced towards eachother at the same time, the Flygon's face was stern but sincere while her partner's twisted between mild annoyance and exasperation. The silent battle continued for a few minutes until finally the Empoleon shook his head in a gesture of surrender before making his way to the house and flinging open the door. It was left open as an invite, but the manner of which it was opened left a lingering threat in the air. 'Don't piss me off'.
The dragon gave a vibrant smile, even the sharp edges of her teeth could not take from her cheerful expression.
She unfolded a wing to usher to the two inside and upon stepping through the threshold Alfred was quick to try and recall where he'd been sitting last time. The Gardevoir stood awkwardly in the door for a moment before his eyes drifted to the corner of the right side of the room. There, that was it.
He stepped toward the frame with only a few moments of hesitation, his mouth curling into a smile once he saw the sword on the front. He hadn't been making it up then, that was nice to know. Sometimes fact and fiction tended to get mixed up with him lately.
"It's thi-" A black and red blur cut him off, stepping directly in front of him and his hand, which had reached out to point at the page, tapped the furious Empoleon in front of him instead.
The Gardevoir recoiled immediately and took a few steps back only for a shielded hand to reach out and golden claws curled around his arm to tug him back.
"It reminds you of something you saw RECENTLY? Do you know what that is? That is not something you could have SEEN recently! It's an ancient treasure, lost for centuries in history, torn between myth and legend!"
"Please-"
"Barcel, let him go! You're scaring him." The Flygon interupted, she had disappeared to the back for one damn second to see if there was tea made and that idiot was already harrassing their guests.
The Empoleon released the Psychic with a scowl. Alfred once more retreating to safety behind Tolin, before his scorn shifted to said Scyther.
"How do you two know about the sword..." It was phrased as a question but his tone made it an order and as he spoke he slipped the frame off the wall and slowly pulled the page out from inside the glass that held it.

Tolin

Tolin hid any satisfaction he felt at having had his plan work. Scarlet seemed almost... possessive of Alfred.
Barcel on the other hand just seemed mad as hell, but they could get beyond that.
The Scyther took a few steps just ahead of the wing and walked into the building at his own, leisurely pace.
He walked ahead of his companion and stood in the middle of the room, his eyes tracing out the forms and details of the various weapons that hung on the walls.
He had an appreciation for weapons. He had fought both against and with many who had used them.
And he could tell just with a glance. None of these were low-quality works; they had all been made as meticulously as they were cared for.
"This is an impressive collection you have."
It was nothing more than an idle comment meant to hopefully spur on friendly chatter. The effort was promptly ruined by the Empoleon, for lack of a better term, flipping his s**t.
He took a few hurried steps towards Alfred, his pace increasing as Barcel grabbed him.
Fortunately enough, Barcel let go before the exchange came to blows; Tolin was ready to remove his hand.
"The real question is how you know about the sword."
He carefully took a few steps back, nudging Alfred as he went.
"There's less than a dozen people who know what it is. How the hell do you know?"
He was rather ready to strike out and kill. The only people that knew about the blade--that should know about the blade, anyways--were his allies and the people that were trying to kill him.

The Empoleon made a strange, warped noise. A bird's attempt to growl, they honestly didn't have the proper mechanics to make such a sound but Barcel attempted it anyways.[Enjoy]
"I asked you first!" The dual type exclaimed, raising a shielded arm as though to swing it at the insect but instead held it aloft to strike when his questions weren't answered.
"If you're with that Eevee I suggest you leave right now, so help me, I'll tear you both limb from limb!"Scarlet hovered uncertainly at the other side of the room, she wasn't sure whether to cut in or not at this point. That they knew about the sword, it possibly meant they were with that horrid little Normal type. They didn't seem the type he'd hire, but you could never tell with some Pokemon. She glanced from Barcel to Tolin with a frown, it'd come to blows in a moment she was sure, her eyes shifted to Alfred who cowered behind the Scyther looking for all the world like he was about to have a panic attack.
Maybe it had been a bad idea to mention any of this to Tolin. He shoud have stayed in bed.
"Barcel, hear them out. We don't know-""You're right, we don't!" The Empoleon snapped at her before he turned back to the bug type. "Answers, Scyther. Answers or you and your little friend don't walk out of this house in the same shape you walked in."

"Hardly."
The Scyther eased considerably, although not entirely. Just because they weren't with Eridanus didn't make them allies.
"I'm the one trying to kill Eridanus."
Though his arms had dropped and his body had, to an extent, relaxed, he was still ready to cut out Barcel's throat if need be.
The Empoleon hadn't answered his question, and as unlikely as a third party was it wasn't outside of the realm of possibility.
"Now answer mine. How the hell do you know about that sword? You would be dead if you were around the last time it was used and I sure as hell didn't tell you."
There was little risk of Barcel being an Elite or some such. He had personally seen every pendant either of the two might use. Had they been born from Arceus, they would be insane or dead by now.

The Empoleon lowered his arm, if only slightly, but his eyes remained narrowed and his body turned to the side in preparation to block any attack that might come his way.
"The original blacksmith to forge that blade was one of my ancestors. My family knows all about it since we're the ones who made it." Barcel continued to scowl, glancing at Scarlet for only a moment before speaking again. "That Eevee wanted another one made, naturally I refused. There are some things far too powerful to be duplicated." As for the page he still held in his free hand, the Empoleon held it up to examine in silence.
"...this was taken from the press seconds before the book of legend and lore was mass produced. My ancestors felt it better that the world didn't know the kind of power the mirror was truly capable of."
At this point the dual type seemed to have calmed down considerably, his stance shifted and his fury towards the Scyther dwindled out. Scarlet deemed it safe to step back into the room at this point and make a quick trot towards Alfred, who had entered phase two of completely freaking the ******** out, and attempt to console the Gardevoir.
Barcel ignored them, extending the page out to Tolin. On the bottom in small print the numbers 37 and 38 graced their respective sides.
"Surprised he recognized it to be honest. Could have been any page really, from any book. They used this same picture in a few of the other books I have as well."

The Scyther relaxed in tune with the Empoleon's, apparently both content and surprised by the explanation.
He had always assumed that it was made by Arceus himself, not by mortal hands.
Well, that was something to deal with in a moment. First of all, deal with the Gardevoir behind him that was about to pass out.
He turned back around and knelt slightly to place one scythe at each of Alfred's sides and pull him up.
"Come now. There will be no fighting today. You can relax; it's fine."
Barcel could be dealt with in a moment, but Alfred freaking out was only going to escalate.
He took a quick glance at Scarlet, paused briefly and then glanced at Barcel.
"Would you mind if we stayed for a moment, Scarlet? And Barcel... I would like to speak to you about that."
The bloodline that had created the sword to begin with. That was, in more ways than one, amazing.
The possibilities of a blacksmith that powerful were seemingly endless; there was a huge number of possibilities.
How many of them would pan out?
Probably very few, but even one would be significant.
