"Ccaaddee." He sighed, closing his eyes a minute to just say his name. He opened then slowly, looking up to the other boil. "You're right. It is a great name. Very...exotic." He never heard someone with that name before, and no clan addition? That was strange! Oh dear. Oh dear, dear, dear. This poor boil didn't have a clan! Was his family exiled? Did he leave his clan to go out on his own? Either way, he wanted to know his life story, and not having a clan suggested a mysterious life struggle. This boil was a boil that had a hard life, was from the streets no doubt, and had to scrape by to make a living. A rebel without a cause and gorgeous features to booth.

Calder wanted to fan himself off at the assumed background he created for Cade, and was eager to find more about him. If he was a outcast, he probably grew up tough and had shielded his heart, and needed the understanding of a kind, caring boil like himself to show him love.

Their epic saga would begin today!

"There are plenty of games. There is a crane game for free, and there is a catch a fish booth, and then a box game where you put your hand in some holes and either get a prize or get shocked by an eel. There is also another one where you reach in and try and snatch a fish egg from a really mean fish." He tried to think of the rest. "A dunking booth and a karaoke booth. Um......but fluoresce, I think I know the right booth for that one!" He slipped his hand around Cade's elbow, smiling to him bashfully before moving ahead, his own hooves clopping on the ground.

Despite a gnome taking out his booth, he felt that today was going to be one of the best days of his life.

That's weird, wasn't that the same gnome that slammed into this booth, flying right past it again?!

Christof wobbled past yet another booth... or at least what remained of one.

He gave a disappointed whine. No shinies to pick up. But! There was something on the ground by his feet. A button? A bottlecap? He wasn't sure but somehow he could wrap his stabbed brain around the letters and C-A-L-D- OH! Calder! Yes yes Calder was his friend he liked Calder, he immediately picked up the scattered button and proudly pinned it to himself before marching onward.

Jeremy Deana made her way along the festival and noticed...a bit of a gap between a couple of them. Huh. She stopped, turned, stared at the ruins of what was probably once a booth...and tilted her head. Wow, this kind of....ruined the feel of a festival, didn't it? Odd. A fish-gut stained boot reached out to nudge some of the bottle cap pins on the ground....

And then actually kicked some of the debris when he was sure nobody was looking.

If they were looking, it was just an accident, she would swear.

Satisfied at the random act of further destruction, Jeremy started to wander off, quite unaware of a little leech that had crawled onto the golem's pants during the booth beat down.

Calder walked with Cade back to the magical place that they had met. His booth was still a mound of rubble, though it looked like a few things had been arranged here and there. Calder smiled when seeing it, ignoring his booth and it's current state. He couldn't be concerned about a broken booth when Cade was around. He had spent a magical evening with him all because it had toppled, freeing him from staying here all day. It was a sign of Fate that his booth was broken, and it had brought him to be closer to the other kelpie than ever before.

He could only hope that they would continue to become closer.

Slipping his hand away from the other boil's waist, he smiled. "Close your eyes a moment for me." He said, stepping back toward his booth and grinning like an imp. "And no peeking. I'll know. My eyesight is amazing."

When he was sure that Cade was covering his eyes, Calder moved through the old boards and moved the tarp, finding where he had hidden a massive jar he had kept for his leeches. It had been given fresh water, and the new creates inside moved around each other, tolerant of each other thought not too happy about the lack of space. Still, they moved together as a group, shimmering bodies of various colors and shapes. It was a collection all on it's own. A collection that Cade wanted and Calder worked hard for. He played games till every seed he owned was spent and he exhausted himself with doing it so that the other boil wasn't aware, using excuses that he had to go to the bathroom or check on his booth a moment. All the while he had been playing a quick game to surprise him.

It was all for Cade.

Walking back and holding the large jar in his arms, mindful to not splash any water, he smiled. "Okay. Open them."

Oh, they were back at Calder's booth? But why? He didn't have games or anything here! Not even minipets! So then why were they back here? How long had she even been here? It felt like days. They were only here twenty-four hours, right? Ugh. Twenty-four hours too many. She tried not to sigh as she followed alongside Calder, tilting her head to lean it against his and closing her eyes. She wanted to go home, home to where things looked normal and didn't have tentacle heads or bones sticking out or hooves or feathers or wings or extra limbs. Home where it was safe. Home where it was..home. Soon enough. Be patient. I'm sure this isn't the first mission. Atropos reminded her gently, her voice amused.

"Hmmm?" Candace lifted her head away from Calder to give him a curious look. She raised a brow, ears perking up high. Huh? What was he hiding? She chuckled and closed her eyes, even putting the palms of her hands over them for good measure. "Fine, fine. I won't peek. See? I'm not peeking." Oh, but he was listening! He tried to use his borrowed ears to his advantage, but nothing seemed to work. Damn. All she heard was things being moved and the slosh of water. Huh? Water? When told he could open them again he quickly did, eager to see what Calder had been hiding.

"What in..the..." Her jaw dropped and her eyes grew as wide as saucers. No way. No ******** way. How many floresce were in that thing?! Holy...!

Awwww, precious! How sweet! He's offering the love of his life a bouquet of floresce. How beautiful. Will you accept, dear Cade? Will you accept the love of your kelpie soul mate? Ah, it's so romantic! Why when I was your age I-- Shut up. I need to think.

"C..Calder I..." She swallowed hard and reached a shaky hand out to touch the jar, as if confirming its existence to be real or fake. It...it was real! "This is...all for me?" She sounded reverent, and thoroughly impressed. Yes! All these and she did no work! This was a job well done.

Calder beamed as Cade was floored with surprise with his hard work. He liked it! He liked it, right? He looked surprised, and he was no doubt pleased with his hard work. He had scraped together every festival seed he could and had been saving to spend this week on this whole day. Everything he had scrimped and saved had been used up on booths and games and getting beaten up several times from the mean bullies in the fish tank booth. Every opportunity and chance and place he could find a floresce, he went, and even found a booth that sold the eggs by sheer chance. He collected them, and even better, hatched them all in the jar, feeding them and tending to them all. They were healthy and swimming about with their colorful colony.

At being asked, Calder nodded eagerly. "A-huh. These are all for you. I know you said you wanted a collection, so I went out and tried to get as many kinds and types as I could. Minipets like company. No one likes to be alone. They have lots of friends. I couldn't find a nice tank for them, but I did have this leech jar I keep my friends in, so I got them some fresh water by the river and kept them in there and let them hatch. I'll try to find you a bigger tank when I can, but I hope this is good for now." He lifted it up a bit more, offering it to the other boil. "I really like helping you. It has been fun, spending time with you and helping you get a collection. It was no bother at all. I know you'll keep very good care of them."

He flushed, looking about before raising his eyes back to the boil. "I'm glad I met you. You're the first keplie that hasn't been in my clan. It's nice, and it's nice that I can be with you and enjoy floresctival with you. I like..." He glanced as he noticed a group of trolls passing by and felt flustered that they might overhear.

Then again, he could tell Cade how he felt without others hearing. Smiling, he opened his mouth, and spoke in their native language. In kelpie tongue."I like you a lot, Cade. This time with you, it's been so nice. You've made me very happy, and ...no one nuzzles me like you do. I was hoping...that maybe, we could spend more time together. That, maybe, if you wanted to be ...ya know, my boilfriend. I mean, that is if you like me too." He looked up hopefully at the boil. "Do you ...like me too?"

For Candance, who probably knew nothing of the kelpie vernacular, the language was a series of strange words, clipped snorts, and some other strange yet smoothly flowering language that seemed almost rough. A strange Sottish-horse blend to say the least that sounded like it came from a wild country off the coast of Scotland. The only indication he was asking Cade a question was the rising tone in his voice at the end and the look, awaiting an answer, that Calder was giving.

Candace was staring down at the minipets in awe. She was so impressed. She'd done so well in getting him to win minipets for her, and she hadn't even really done much! She just...she...she was blown away! Candace listened as he explained why he got them, something similar to his metaphors from earlier that had clearly been about the two of them. She understood now. He wanted her--no, he wanted Cade. He wanted something he didn't realize he could and would never have. It wasn't meant to be, unfortunately. Perhaps he'd meet some nice kelpie later, after her. A nice horse thing just like him. She hugged the jar against her flat chest and smiled at Calder, her ears lowering on either side of her head. She couldn't stay here. She didn't want to stay here. She didn't want to be with him...no. She would rather be sliced in half by Caelius' scythe. "Oh, Calder." She chuckled, sighing softly. But he stopped. Why did he stop? Her eyes followed him to the passing trolls and she blinked. Trolls? Odd...but okay.

And then he started making weird...noises. Oh, s**t. Oh s**t. Oh s**t! OH s**t! HE WAS TALKING TO HER WASN'T HE!? Her ears raised and she looked panicked for a moment. Keep calm! Keep calm! You can do this. Just play it off like any other foreign language. Try and make sense of it somehow. With no context. And no clues. Questions. He was asking her questions. and he looked..vulnerable, but happy. He was saying something to her and she had no idea what.

...He wanted an answer.

Candace's cheeks flushed, embarrassed by the fact that she had no idea what to say. At least Calder could misinterpret it as a good sign. She was flustered, confused, and pulling at whatever straws she could. He needed an answer. She couldn't just...not...answer. It would blow her cover. "Ah..I..." She swallowed hard and then suddenly seemed to get an idea. She grinned, holding the jar of floresce under one arm and gesturing for Calder to come closer with her empty hand. It was a silent request, she dared not say a word. Whether he stepped up to her or she stepped up to him there would definitely be a distance closed between them, gently holding Calder's chin between her thumb and index finger. Candace looked down at the kelpie boy with half-lidded eyes and a dreamy smile, leaning in to nuzzle her cheek against his.

And then she pressed her lips against his in a gentle kiss. It was sweet, gentle, and almost..loving? Almost. Candace just had a little experience kissing.

She was also brushing her teeth for two hours after this and downing a whole bottle of mouth wash.

The kiss didn't last very long before she ended it, leaving a light kiss against his nose and then finally his forehead. She kept her lips there. "That's your answer." There. Easy enough, right? She honestly hoped she wasn't answering what she thought she was answering. Maybe he'd slap her. Maybe he'd get mad. She'd almost prefer a fight.

"I should head home. These floresce will need a little more room to swim. Goodbye, darlin'." Candace murmured quietly, giving him one last peck on the cheek before releasing his chin. She grinned and winked, waving her fingers before she turned on her hoof and headed back to the meeting place. She had a report to make..and a ******** of floresce to turn in.

Calder waited, holding his breath as he stared at Cade with an intense gaze. It was one of those questions you wanted answered if it was good, but didn't want answered if it was bad. But, but there had been all that nuzzling. The hand holding. They way Cade had held to his arm and let Calder slip a hand around his waist. He didn't LOOK claimed by anyone, and he didn't act like he had someone. Surely Cade was alone, and Calder was willing to fix that. All too willing. He had had a hard time finding a boilfriend during his first year, but this was a new year, a new time for chances, and it felt nice to think that he'd have a boilfriend to do and enjoy so many things together. Everyone was dating, and he was just the hopeless romantic to sigh and pin for someone of his very own. Sure, he might be in a herd to someone else, but his young heart wanted someone he could be with. To fall in love with.

And that boil was Cade. Calder was sure of it.

Even more sure when the boil told him to come closer, and then nuzzled him. Oh.....just like that. That cheek that was becoming familiar to him. Warm, soft, perfect in every way. He could nuzzle that cheek for eternity, and then, in another fashion, kissed him. He all but melted, eyelids fluttering as his ears perked and then lowered. Warm. He felt warm. Too warm. Boil, was it hot now. Another kiss on his nose that made him smile, hitching his shoulder at how it tickled, and one on his brow, more comforting and sweet. Cade liked him. He really did! He...he was going to be his boilfriend!!!

He had a boilfriend. A older kelpie boilfirend of his very own that was totally into him!!!!

Someone needed to n** him and tell him this wasn't just a dream. Smiling like a moron, Calder nodded to him. "Ohhh. Already?" He whined, pouting, but looking around. "I guess it is getting late." And then Cade started to head off. "BYEEEE CCCAAADDDEE!" Calder called out, waving and jumping in place. "SEE YOU TOMORROW!!" And with that, Cade was gone.

Calder waited till he was sure he was out of sight, before he jumped up and down. "EEEEEHHHH!!! I HAVE A BOILFRIENDDDD!!!" Best. Day. Ever.

Calder's booth, thankfully, was not stocked with obstacle courses, or anything besides a dilapidated pile of wood and Calder, who looked a little shell-shocked himself, dreamy smile aside.

Barth stopped, hair wild and clothes only covered in the gore that had soaked or been smeared in. "Hello, Calder. Have you seen Christof wandering- ah, no, there he is. Thank you."

He moved on without addressing why, exactly, it looked like someone had exploded on him.

Next booth... Another campaign booth! or... was it? Everything was in ruins. a bunch of wood in a pile. No banner, just a sign saying it was closed... Whose booth is this?! How could they let it sit there in this condition?!

Then she noticed a daydreaming, lovestruck boil standing amidst the broken booth... Maybe this was a bad time to ask if he had a hose, or knows where to find one. "Um... I'm going to help myself to a plushie... I hope you don't mind" She picked up the cutest looking plushie, and went on her way again
PostPosted: Mon Jul 25, 2011 12:09 am

Burdened with an odd array of plushies and some sort of eerie looking critter from Riley's booth, Ys made her way over to the wreckage of Calder's booth. She surveyed the damage and the not unhappy looking Kelpie boil, unsure of what to make of the scene. Whatever had destroyed it had done a rather good job.

As she reached out to take a pin and a plushie to add to her little hoard, she noticed a slimy little creature had already taken up residence on the pin. "Oh, sssorry, little one," she addressed it genially. Was it supposed to be there as part of the decoration? She shrugged indifferently and affixed the pin, leech and all, to her belt. As she sauntered off, she gave the boil a friendly wave and a shy thanks, not wanting to interrupt his reverie since he looked so happy.
