Camelot hadn't meant to take more than a moment. One swoop around the library and then he could get back to the others. He was not anticipating a group of youma waiting for him as he met the bottom of the stairs and moved to check out the second floor.
A youma had jumped at him out of no where, as they often did, and he had very little time to react to them. He managed to bat one away as it lunged with his shield, smacking it like a baseball, but another one was at him in a second. It spat something into his face, making him think of those spitting lizard dinosaur things in Jurassic Park, and he stumbled back.
It stung like crazy, he couldn't open his eyes.
The rest of the time before the gang began to really notice his absence was spent stumbling around the familiar library to find a hiding place away from the youma. He managed to get into a study room, with three of the little monsters, including the one that had spat at him, jumping at the door.
"Anyone out there?!"
This would be a perfect time to try out those communication devices, though it was also good proof that they were very needed. Camelot was going to need some help and fast.
He couldn't see, for one. Someone was going to have to be his eyes.
"Hesperis?!" He called, hearing her voice. She was impressively loud. One of the youma turned around and ran toward her. It had long limbs, looking like an oversized rat with ridiculously stretched legs. Camelot didn't know she was being attacked, though he could imagine it. Still. "Mind your language!"
Four small-ish, medium youma were already hurrying up the stairs, whiffing the knights now that they realized they were not alone. They were ready to get the party started, as it were, and to leap on the first bodies they saw.

There wasn't much time for introductions before the girl disappeared and an eventual bellow echoed up through the halls. This caused a very large frown on the page of the Cosmos, finished off a third cookie. He had come expecting a party of sorts.. a get together to make new friends. Not a fight. He got enough of those on his own. And he HATED fighting.
But everyone else was going.. and it was his job. So he was quick to follow after Anwwn and Niflhel, and stay cautiously behind them brave guy that he was, his bowl raised defensively up.

Hesperis gave a clearly over-exaggerated eyeroll, but was moving in position to try to shield Camelot the best she could, kicking the youma who was coming toward her away. "Look, how about you try to clean my mouth with soap after those things are dead ?"
The youmas were closing in, but that was when the others started to come in, thankfully. "You okay ? They're coming."
It was a moment of distraction - a small youma took it and sunk it's teeth at her ankle, piercing through the material of her boot. "Little s**t ! Ow !" Shaking didn't help, so she ended up whacking it off with her staff. It worked well enough, but there were little holes left behind, with pinpricks of red.

"Salright...I'll just teach you a few no one here will get... right after we deal with the mankey muppets." He flashed a grin that said he'd chosen the odd colloquialisms on purpose over any more 'american' slang. "Why the dickens do we get s**t for starting anyhow? This antler is... well I'd have better luck head butting the ruddy things!"
He lashed out anyhow, shoving a boot at them and trying to crush them off the walls of floor.

As they worked their way down the stairs towards the calling voices, a few of the youma were making their way up. Confronted with one youma, a tiny thing with claws like little daggers, Bimini paused dancing from foot to foot as it swiped at him. It's claws got tangled before it gave a frusterated little WRARWK noise, and the sound of shredding fabric could be heard.
Eeek! There was only so much fabric, eventually those little claws would be digging into him. It was that thought alone that caused his foot to suddenly shoot forward, propelling the youma back down the stairs once more.
Bimini pumped a fist of victory in the air as it bounced again and again down the stairs. Yay!

Valhalla nodded in understanding to everything Camelot had said before he went to lock the doors. He was a bit anxious about being in a room full of people he didn't know, but he tried not to let it bother him.
He looked up when the newest person came and shook everyone's hands, and he shook it back, hoping that his expression of shock wasn't too off-putting. "Uh, Valhalla... Jupiter," he sputtered, watching as the most recent arrival went to make himself at home in front of the cookies. Well, at least there was a decent amount of enthusiasm, right?
It didn't take long for the others to realize there were youma, which would have explained his anxiety. Ah, of course... youma. And in the library?? Valhalla frowned to himself, watching as the others began to clear out of the room. Why were there youma there? This was the second time he'd been in the library when it was attacked... That couldn't be a good thing. Was their location compromised?? He would have to talk to Camelot about it. He didn't want them all put in danger if the library was being scouted by those with ill intentions towards them.
Pausing to grab the bag of phones, Valhalla turned to follow the others out of the room, although he stopped in order to take his key to the room and make sure it was locked behind him. He didn't want anyone to have the opportunity to steal away inside the room and wait for an ambush.
The page of Jupiter followed the others down the stairs, wishing there was enough room for him to just... jump over the banister to get down faster, but he figured that wouldn't give off a good impression. See? If Camelot had been wearing his headset, he could have called fo help. Although, he was pretty sure the older man realized that as well.
"It'd be nice if we had actual weapons," he said, mostly to himself as he clutched at the compass he'd hung from his belt. It was good for whacking things with, but other than that...

Camelot heard Hesperis and poked his head out of the room he was hiding in, pushing the door open and shoving a youma with it. At least they didn't seem super strong. Or at least that one wasn't. But if the one that had spat in his eyes was any indication, they might all have their fun little surprises.
He still couldn't get his eyes to open, stinging angrily as they were, and only the corners of blurry glows seeping into his eyes for his efforts. At the question, though, he shook his head. His attention was easily driven from himself, though, when the girl yelped in pain.
"Hesperis?! What happened?"
He heard Annwn's familiar, accented tones, as well as the voices of the others nearby. That was very good. At least a meeting of powered up knights had the plus size of being much better defended than a group of civilians. Right?
A youma with a long body, thick, trunk like legs and what looked to be seven or nine, uneven on one side, arms up its rounded trunk. It stood like a walking letter S, waving its arms and hissing at them from its snake-like head. While its body might not have been that intimidating, the very long fangs it sported were at least worthy of some attention. It lunged at the nearest knight to it, slinking up the rail of the stairs before lunging at Annwn.
The tiny youma Bimini knocked down the stairs was replaced by a much large cousin, it seemed, its much large claws much more accurate depictions of knives than the tiny version that was scrabbling to right itself at the bottom of the stairs. It growled viciously at the page of Cosmos, a thick, yellow saliva dripping in long strands from its mouth. It didn't seem to have teeth so much as a jaw made entirely of what passed as its bone, jagged and raw edged, serrated. It yanked its head back and sent a gob of saliva, possibly acidic, in Bimini's direction. The others near him were also within splash range.
Another youma was already eying the page of Jupiter, and it had backup. They were both the size of dogs, between medium and large. They were growling but the sound was unlike that of the animal they resembled, sounding more like the cackling intonations of oversized crows. They charged at Valhalla.
Niflhel, it seemed, was far enough back in the group for the charging line of youma not to reach him without having to break through the knights on the stairs in front of him.
Camelot heard the hisses and growling of the youma as they all scrambled around to leap into the fight, and he knew he couldn't just sit there like a blind lump and not help. Of course, he would literally be swinging in the dark if he tried to attack anything with his shield. He stood with his shield raised on instinct, but felt like an island without his sight to aid him.
"Stay close to one another!" he called, "don't let them surround or separate you: and don't let any escape!" Together they were strongest, and they could quickly dwindle the numbers if they worked as a team. He imagined there were at least ten of them, and though they were all smaller than the average youma he had run into that didn't make them any less dangerous in his book.
The one that had blinded him tackled him then, so his efforts to deliver a stirring battle speech were interrupted before they began. He had no real idea of the chaos going on anyway, nor did he know that each knight had their own problem, as well as the difficulty of defending each other. They would have to figure it out as they went along.

One could say Camelot's language lessons were... work in progress, as far as Hesperis was concerned. But the others were coming in now, and it did help her relax. This no longer was Hesperis vs the world. This was Hesperis and her posse vs the world.
She liked it better that way. One good look at Camelot made her frown. "...What happened to your eyes ? Do you even see anything ?" The annoyance was gone, replaced by worry. Well, the youngest knight wasn't going anywhere - instead she continued to try to cut the youma's access to Camelot. She couldn't go help the others just yet, not in good conscience.
The snake was slittering her way again, hissing, and she seemed to be hissing right back - rather than smack it, she pinned it down then, driving her staff right through it's skull. That was enough to dust it. And... leave a very lovely stain on the floor.

"T.... Camelot!!" He called. "Here... put your back to mine so at least you're guarded!" He called trying to edge closer to the man. He crushed one of the other yoma under his boot with a nasty crunchy squelch. and smacked one off his shoulder with his antler. "Bloody useless thing....really bloody useless."

"At least you can actually fight with yours! All I can do is tell you which way north is!" Valhalla called over his shoulder as he aimed a kick at the youma that jumped at him, before grimacing when he noticed there were two of them. He was glad that Annwn was keeping an eye on Camelot, though. He would have liked to get to the man, himself, but he was busy trying to get these youma off of all of them.
He used the backpack with the phones and headsets inside to whack at the other youma, pushing them back some before they could jump again. He also would have liked to comment on the younger knight's use of language, but he figured this would be a bad time to start nagging. They needed to get rid of the youma first.
"Do you think these are just scouts? Why would there be so many and all in one area?" Valhalla asked out loud, wondering what the others thought. "Or do they usually do this?" He was pretty new to this, after all, so... he honestly didn't know.

(I'm going to reply to folks as they post as best I can, but I don't mean to make anyone feel like they're falling behind. I will reply to every post, whenever they come!)
Camelot winced as Hesperis cursed again. She had a very colorful vocabulary, if not a bit limited. He was going to have to talk to her about that, when things were a bit more calm. At least now was the time and place for cursing. Hell, he was feeling like it at the moment.
What with the not being able to see anything and knowing everyone was under attack thing.
"Bit you? Are you alright? N-no, I can't see. It's like a whole lemon was stuffed into each eye. I don't recommend it, to be honest," he grunted, half sarcastic and the rest oddly sincere. He could tell where she was, moving closer to her and bumping into what he thought was her, though she was busy smacking the youma that had bit her into dust. He probably would not have liked the stain of dust, if he saw it.
He was going to be cleaning this place for hours, when all was said and done.
When Annwn spoke, he realized he had bumped into his fellow Earth knight, and he nodded his head, moving to follow directions.
"Tell me where to block!" he said, knowing there was still the youma that had blinded him running around and he could at least act as a shield. He could half open one eye now, but it was still too blurry and painful. He'd have to wash his eyes out and hope nothing permanent had happened. The youma, meanwhile, was scampering around the trio on two legs, like its apparent dilophosaurus cousin. It pulled its head back and launched a venom ball Hesperis' way.
He heard them talking about their items and felt rather lucky for his shield. It wasn't the greatest attack weapon, either, but it did at least provide him a little protection.
"I-if I had to guess I'd say they're just a pack of weak youma compensating for being small," Camelot offered at Valhalla's question, standing tensely and not sure what to do with himself. The two youma dogs were very interested in Valhalla now, and they could approach on both sides after being knocked away in different directions. While that was going on, Camelot was trapped in his head, thinking that he hoped they were all weaker youma. He couldn't imagine, now, trying to fight a pack of these things if they were all 'normal', as strong as the ones he often fought one on one.
That would be hell. This was only hellish. Hopefully.

There was a distinct and sadly feminine squeak that escaped Bimini as his tiny youma was replaced by a bigger and nastier brother, and a glob of something horrible shot at him. The cloth of his sash began to sizzle and dissapear as the liquid landed, a few tiny drips hitting his legs and eating through the legging fabric before burning and irritating the skin underneath.
Hell no! HELL no.
He dashed forward a couple steps, kicking the larger beast even harder out of sheer fear that it would spit again. "s**t s**t s**t s**t!" He muttered under his breath as he made his way down the stairs, looking to see if his acid spitting friend was still alive and kicking.
"We can be crappy weapon buddies!" He shouted towards Valhalla, finding the banter strangely calming for his nerves. "You lead us north and I'll give everyone can wash their hands in my bowl"

"Camelot Lift to your left!" He called half starting to twist and lift the man's arm to block one of the biting terrors. "Hey! With the Bowl! Can you givin for his eyes? Might that clear them eh?" He called. "Not so useless if he can see again! AAH!"
One of the creatures had latched to his leg and sunk its fangs through his trousers.

With the bowl? He'd hardly been expected to be called on for help, his eyes actually widening. But god help him if he wasn't going to help in an occassion where he might actually BE useful!!
He powered down the last few stairs, doing his best to sidestep his little acid spitting 'friend' before he headed towards the funny talking druid and the familiar elder knight.
Some of the water had splashed and slooshed out of the bowl in his progression down the stairs and through youma. Water still swirled in the half full bowl however when he finally arrived, holding it out quickly towards the blinded Camelot. Oh yeah.. he couldn't see.
"Try to wash your eyes out" He offered, pushing the bowl close enough to acctualy brush against the elder knight.

Camelot heard the order and felt the other lift his arm for him, blocking the blow as he was guided to do. He grimaced at the hit, finding it hurt harder when he couldn't see what was hitting him.
He really didn't like this no sight thing, though he was certain, at least, that it would be coming back. The light creeping into his blurred vision at least said it was just whatever the youma had spit at him, and not permanent damage. At least, that was what he hoped.
He heard Annwn cry out in pain, turning toward the sound but mostly just bumping into the knight himself rather than finding what had bit him.
"Are you alright?!"
When he heard Bimini speaking nearby he jumped and turned again, nearly bumping the water out of the younger knight's hands. He felt for the object, though, and then the water, hurriedly using it to wash out his stinging eyes. After a moment, he opened them to look around, his vision much restored, though still a little blurry.
"That's done it! Thank you, Bimini!"
The youma were not happy, one still biting at Annwn while the others circles toward the group of knights circled together. At least Camelot felt he could fight now, rushing over to slam the corner of his shield against the youma biting Annwn to make it let go.
