If your so called friends kept betraying you, as you said, then they aren't worth the time to even give chances to. It does depend on how old you are as well, when you're in high school it's a lot easier for people to spread rumors and start drama about the silliest things. Just keep your head held high, and it'll work itself out eventually. Learn not to take things so to heart all the time, it makes it easier if rumors are spread, they're usually not true. Maybe you should figure out why they're acting the way they're acting. See it from their perspective, even if they did hurt you, they had their own selfish reasons.

My advice would be to find someone new, that you barely know, and say hi. You can ask questions to get to know them, but wait awhile before you let them know all your secrets. That would be my advice to someone who is kinda chatty, but if you are shy, like me, then this is what you should do: find someone who looks like they have things in common with you and say something like "I love that book" or "Hey, you collect also?"
This is something I would do. What not to do though is blabber on and on about the same thing. I know someone who does this, and she is very bad at making friends. I am sorry if this post is terribly long, but this is what I have to say. I hope it helps! smile
