"Trust me, I know. I start jonsin' after less than a day," Roch said, grinning. "You did great," he added. "So grab some snacks and a chair and go talk with Rikki over there," he added, motioning for the table and the beanbags before turning to Xiu.
"That's fine, Xiu! We're happy to wait," Which kinda gave you the feeling he would say the same regardless of whatever she asked. Was Roch a sucker for a cute ghoul? Well, probably.
"Hey, I made Danny here play for me, just to make sure she'd make a good vice president, but not all of you have heard me play," he announced to the room. "Could be that I suck, right? So--" He held out his guitar, then let it disappear. "You're all screwed to wonder!" he said cheerfully.

Mitsu was late and because of that she was running despite knowing that was a bad idea. She wasn't the most graceful of ghouls but at least she seemed to keep a fairly steady straight line all the way to the room where the auditions were being held. The lupine was in such a rush she really didn't have time to think about how nervous she was, the only thing she could think about was that fact that she would be letting Xiu down if she was any later!
Coming to a hopping stop at the door Mitsu paused for a moment to catch her breath, eyes peering in through her mask. There were already a couple of people here it seemed and...Ah! There was Xiu! Heading into the room now knowing that her friend was here, Mitsu clutched the straps to her keyboard case.
"S-sorry I'm late, Xiu." The lycan stuttered, her ears drooping a little feeling a bit bad she had made the baku wait. At the moment the idea that she would be playing the piano in front of others hadn't registered. She had done well in practice with Xiu but there were quite a few more people here. The lupine knew Roch somewhat from groanspring and had spotted Danny here and there but didn't really know the two. She just knew they were heads of the club. That was a start though right?
"W-what are we supposed to do?" Mitsu finally asked taking this time to actually look around the room. There was paper everywhere...what had happened?

Ren had heard about the Fright Music Club auditions, and after a long bit of debating whether or not he wanted to go, he had finally given in. After all, he did rather love singing, and it seemed as if it would be an interesting club to join.
So, late one afternoon, he ambled into the classroom, hands stuck casually into his pockets, tail flicking behind him absently. There were already a few people that he recognized; Vaith's date from prom, Xiu was looking quite unsure about herself, as well as Nyyrikki from Ren's own Scario Kart club. He gave them both a grin and a friendly wave. Mei's boilfriend Bul was there as well, though Ren wasn't too familiar with him; he had mainly talked to him in very short, brief conversations in passing, or heard him mentioned from Mei herself.
The two group leaders were unfamiliar as well; Ren gave them a wide smile, lifting a hand in greeting.
"Yo," he said, as he picked up a piece of paper for himself, scribbling on it quickly before handing it back to the orange haired ghoul. "I hear there's auditions going on?"

Xiu's eyes immediately lit up when she saw her friend, and she immediately jumped from her seat and rushed forward to hug (and possibly cling) onto the other ghoul. "Mitsu! Um, don't apologize! You aren't late at all." Or at least, she assumed so since people were still filtering in, including a very familiar face. The Baku paused so that she could smile at and offer Ren a wave before turning back to Mitsu.
As for what they were supposed to do? Xiu wasn't entirely sure, but from watching the others, she was able to guess the next step. She bent to pick up two sheets of the papers that were littered all over the floor, along with two pens, and held them out to the other ghoul. "I...I think we fill this out?" Eying the page uncertainly, she led Mitsu towards the beanbag chairs so that they could put down their instruments and sit for a bit.
After misunderstanding the "stuff you do" section (and crossing off a great deal as a result), Xiu finally had a finished form. Deciding that she would hand it in together with the lycan, she turned to smile shakily while her friend was still writing.
"S-so. Are you...ready?"

Soon after Mitsu had walked in, Shun stepped into the room and glanced around. He had little intentions on actually joining the club but he figured he'd be here to give his friend some support at the very least. He knew how timid she could be and all so it likely wouldn't hurt to be there for her. As a result, he hadn't brought his guitar with him.
Stopping shortly behind her, he noticed that Xiu was in here as well, warranting a small wave of sorts.
There were a couple others around that he recognized seeing before but he wasn't too familiar with most of the others around.

Mitsu looked up as Shun entered the room behind her. The smile she had couldn't be seen but the wag of her tail was very visible. He had actually come to support them! "I..I'm glad you could make it." The lupine said to the reaper softly before turning her attention back to Xiu and the form that she was being handed. Taking the piece of paper and pen Mitsu looked over the form carefully....despite the fact there wasn't much on it. Stuff you do? Mitsu did lots of things and just as with Xiu the lycan started listing things that had nothing to do with music. She had just started on her second sentence when she realized her folly and scratched out what she had written and put simply 'I play the piano and keyboard.' Form now in hand she followed Xiu to go turn it in. After that they just needed to wait...to perform. And that's when the ears deflated. They were going to perform...in front of people. But practice had gone so well, they could do this right?

"Alright," Roch said. "Xiu was here first, and you two are working together, right?" he said with a glance at Mitsu. "Why don't you two show us what you can do? You guys that just came in can sit down somewhere, we'll get to you soon," he added to the newcomers.
He wasn't playing favorites! Really, he wasn't! Xiu had been waiting since the beginning, practically. Besides, he wanted to hear this.

Xiu was a little surprised to see Shun here, but certainly not upset. This was especially true when she noticed Mitsu wagging her tail, something that make the Baku smile and stifle a little giggle. Clearing her throat, she smiled up at the reaper. "Shun! Um...hi! Came to watch?" It didn't look like he was carrying an instrument with him, so "spectator" seemed to be the most logical possibility. Unless his voice was his instrument.
...Was Shun going to sing?
Fortunately, she was spared from the mental image of Shun singing and dancing like a member of a boilband. When Roch spoke up, Xiu sucked in a breath, feeling her heartbeat pick up a couple of paces. "Y-yes!" She squeaked, bending down slowly to retrieve her flute from the case, and then moving to the center of the room.
"W-we can do this, Mitsu." She murmured just before they began. Raising the bamboo flute to her lips, she waited for her cue to begin.

Turning his attention towards the Baku, Shun nodded to her before looking back towards Mitsu.
"Good luck you two," he said quietly. He nodded to them, then stepped back towards the nearest wall to lean against. While he didn't know how good Xiu was, he figured she had to have some skill with it. The canine on the other hand, he knew was an excellent musician. The Reaper had little doubt that she could get into the club with no problems.
Shoving his hands into his pockets, he quietly went to watch the two girls take the stage to show off what they got.

Danny was exerting pure excitement and nothing but it. She was sitting there with a stupid happy derpy expression that was so often found on her face, but felt a bit more ... more this time. She was just enjoying listening to the music, and lazily accepting applications when they came towards her. Honestly, other than the fact that she could play the guitar well, there was really no reason for her to be the vice president- she sucked at anything responsibility related.
Regardless, she clapped appropriately and commented on each of the acts. She loved nyy .... ni ... riri's act. "RIRI THAT WAS SO GOOOOD!" She clapped and thumped along to his beat with her foot. He was fun. So was his new nickname.
Bul, however, was more suave and ... calmer? Maybe that wasn't the word. Either way, he was good too! Danny could imagine having lots of fun with Roch and Bul's bass and her guitar. "Even if you haven't played for a while, we're happy to accept! We're looking for fun people, not just skills!" She smiled to encourage all of the other new members that had suddenly filled the room.
There was a baku, and a lupine who were now setting up their act together. They looked pretty shy, but as long as they played well together, who cared. Roch was apparently calling out people for the moment, so Danny just stuck to her chair and offering nice comments. "Ooooh a duet. Roch we should've done one of those, she said as she tugged on the edge of his shirt. To the two girls she said, "When you guys are done, don't forget to fill out a form!" She waved around a piece of paper like it was the most important thing in the world.
A gryphon boil was now filling out an application as well. "You have pretty spots," she said. Way to go captain obvious Danny. She smiled and took the paper from his hand and said, "Yup! Just go wait in those chairs or eat food or something 'til we call you. Which should be pretty soon I think!" she flipped the paper over so she could read it. Singer, huh? Danny wasn't the worst singer, but she had an odd voice that people tended to shy away from. He would make a nice addition, as long as he didn't sound like a dying raven. Actually, some dying ravens sounded very nice, she thought.
Danny sat in her chair and rocked back and forth. This club was going to be so fun. She could see all the adventures they were going to have already. All the food, and the playing ... and the food ...

"Y..yes we're working together," Mitsu nodded to Roch. "I..I guess I'm ready....thanks Shun." Mitsu nodded to Xiu shuffling her keyboard case off her shoulder. Unzipping the case slowly she took out her keyboard and made her way to the center of the room sitting down with the instrument since she had no stand at the moment. Hopefully that would be okay. Looking up at Xiu the lupine took a deep breath nodding to the ghoul's encouragement. They had both practice hard on this piece and there was no reason they couldn't perform it just the same as they had when no one else was there to hear. Looking to Shun one last time Mitsu finally placed her fingers on the beginning keys and with a short pause began to play the soft tune that was the intro to their song. After only a few short notes Mitsu seemed to relax as the music of the keyboard filled the room. Her fingers moved about the clavier in precisely timed motions, making a smooth transition from one note to the next. There was no doubt she had played the piano for a long while. When it was almost time for Xiu to join her Mitsu tilted her head up a little, ears perked waiting for the sound of the flute that the baku would play. Her fingers kept going though hitting the notes without the aid of her vision as she looked up at Xiu trying to be encouraging. The baku played beautifully so she knew that she would do well in her performance.

Her heart beat a little erratically when she heard Mitsu press down on that first key, signaling the start of their audition. However, like her friend, she began to relax as she heard the familiar beginning of the song. They had practiced this many times over--they were ready, she knew it.
Licking her lips, she silently counted the beat in her head, her hands quivering slightly. Catching the look Mitsu gave her, Xiu smiled faintly, nodded, and closed her eyes.
Those who were unfamiliar with a bamboo flute would probably have found the sound to be somewhat strange, but growing up with the instrument, Xiu found the hollow, whistling sound to be comforting and a reminder of home. When there was a pause in the song for only the keyboard portion, the Baku lowered her hands for the time being, opening her eyes only to turn and watch Mitsu with a smile. Despite knowing at least three of the spectators, she chose not to look at them--it just felt like she and Mitsu were practicing alone right now, and that's what was keeping her from freaking out too much.
She really is a beautiful musician. Xiu mused, nodding at her friend before raising her flute to her lips again. When the pair of ghouls finished the song, letting the last few notes trickle away, the Baku let out a shaky sigh of relief. They had done pretty well! She whispered a "good job!" to Mitsu, before turning to give a nervous little bow to those watching.
"U-uh...t-thank you."

It was a bit worrisome, that little frown on Roch's face. But he didn't seem to be disapproving, instead he seemed to be thinking rather hard. "I love that tone," he said as they finished.
"I mean, seriously, that's not something I've ever heard before, but it's really awesome. And the combination, just... wow," he said. "Really nice combination. You guys did great. Why don't you go get something to snack on, grab a seat, and make yourselves at home while we go on?"
He looked at the sheets they had in front of them, then motioned to Ren. "You want to go next?" he asked. "Do you have accompaniment, or are you doing it A Capella?"

The music was a rather lovely tune and Xiu proved to be pretty good with her flute as well. When the two girls were finished, Shun pushed himself away from the wall to approach them once more.
"Excellent work," he said quietly, "I expected no less."
Nodding to them, he looked over towards Mitsu more directly to see how she was handling everything. He didn't think she was the type to be able to play in front of a crowd all too easily, but she had managed to do so quite nicely here.

Breathing a sigh as the song came to a close Mitsu's ears gave a twitch looking up toward Roch as he spoke. She had to wonder what he thought of this type of music. Not that Mitsu couldn't play anything else but she did enjoy the gentle melodies.
Putting her keyboard safely away in her case, Mitsu looked up at Shun as he approached. "T-thank you." She stuttered out. It sounded like she was a little nervous from her tone but she had managed to get through the song without any difficulties.
Moving out of the way so that someone else could perform, Mitsu took a seat on one of the beanbag chairs..though a little warily. She had never sat in anything like it before and was a little startled when it sank with her weight. It was like she was being sucked into the middle of it. "So how do you think we did?" Mitsu asked Xiu. The lupine had thought they had done rather well but that didn't necessarily mean they would get in.
"Thank you again for coming, Shun. I really do appreciate it." The lycan added. He was that little extra support that kept her from bolting out the door from nerves.
