[Staircase]

There wasn't much to the festival that interested the hippogryph, mainly since he had yet to dive in to anything that may have even perked a small bit of his interested. But then again the festival had only just begun, so he could only guess there was more to come, which in turn meant more students and those potentials whom have been invited like himself. Just the very thought made his stomach turn and pulled at his stings. Or maybe that was sickness due to the sight before him.

Flowers, hearts, glitter and...pink?

Was the festival mocking him now? Was pink really something to be feared. Hell, part of his fur and hair was pink, but no one went around screaming about that. But then again he wasn't a walking pink over load.

With a roll of his ice blue eyes, Rykier made his way over towards the building to get a better look at it.

"A haunted house, huh?"
His tail flicked and wings folded closer to him as he debated entering.

He had to do something to pass the time until more events came along, so a haunted house seemed like a fair deal. Maybe it would even bring him a good laugh or two, especially if he got the chance to watch others get tricked. It wasn't as if the place seemed scary anyway, at least not on the outside. Sickening, yes. Scary, nah.

Shrugging, Rykier entered the building and looked upon his choices of entrance ways. It seemed as if most were choosing the hallway, and not wanting to deal with a large group of people, he chose the staircase. He wasn't ready to deal with a large number of students, not yet anyway...

"Hopefully there will be something interesting this way, or at least something less annoying..."

Muka craned his next, trying to listen in on the students he was following, but found himself hit in the side of the head with pink glitter and a recording blasting out of a child's joyous laughter.

The strix bristled and jumped. Children's laughter?! THE WORST. It was like a million ants crawled up his spine!

(( Children's laughter is Muka's 'nails on a chalkboard' noise.. XD ))

Edel had been staring at a landscape painting depicting hell and its horses. It was a rather unsettling sight but she took care to observe and understand.....the painter's intentions behind it. HM.

Pink was an acquired taste.

Looking down the hallway, Edel sighted a rather friendly looking were lemur who was behind her. She figured she should return the kind gesture, so she tipped her head slightly and waved back following a greeting of “Good Evening to you too”.

Edel was about to turn around and head further down the hallway, until a disturbing recording of children's laughter rang down the archway. A certain strix looked visibly shaken by the sudden outburst of joyous cries. Edel grimaced slightly – it was an eery noise, but not quite so scary. She did offer the strix a sympathetic look though (after all, what was she to do?). Shifting her gaze towards the ceiling, her eyes traced the tracks of the rainbows and unicorns and bounded across the plane.
They reminded her of the nyan cats, such a fond memory.

...
Nope, she was not getting how this was supposed to be scary. Perhaps it was a pop culture thing.

Art raised an eyebrow as the boil introduced himself, put-off my his behavior. What in the world was this guy's issue? He was being rather strange, just like that Doll he had met at the Open House. Oh well, he seemed to be pretty fun, at the least. Plus, he didn't have a disembodied hand that liked to creep all over others.

"Nice to meet you, Kala. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of Ghost are you? I don't think I've ever seen one like you before." He smiled, genuinely curious. He loved Ghosts, any kind of 'em. He turned around and started walking down the path again, expecting Kala to follow him.

Suddenly, a portrait popped out of no where. It was rather vile, and slightly scary. Bah! Those bunnies and their antics...

The pink fog was, indeed, revolting. Cervantes entered the Haunted House specifically for this reason: he couldn't afford to be afraid of such ridiculous things. The Devil's Dandy Dogs were not afraid of sparkles! But as he entered the mansion, he couldn't help but feel there was some method behind that madness. The very house seemed unpredictable, cuteness could burst forth momentarily! Van shuddered. It looked like there were two ways to proceed, and, having been uncomfortable with the notion of being stuck underground since he was young, he took the spiralling staircase. Who knew where it ended? But at least he wouldn't be buried alive.

Van scratched behind the wings he was wearing. They had nothing to do with his actual anatomy, as he had merely appropriated them from some dove, but he did spot someone ahead of him on the staircase with large wings which appeared to be real. Wait, was that... pink in his hair? Perhaps he was sent here to thwart Van's valiant effort at conquering the house. With a youthful bound which spoke to his heritage, Van raced up, taking three or four stairs in each leap, and as he ran past the Hippogriff with pink in his hair Van said, "You're not going to scare me!" and kept on moving, until he realized that he didn't know what was ahead of him, and it could end badly if he suddenly raced into a hole, or some foolish error.

It wasn't too bad so far, at least for Rykier it wasn't. He didn't know how the other students were fairing, and to be honest he didn't really care. The only thing that was on his mind at the moment was the potential for traps and where the hell this stair case was going to lead. It wasn't as if he could go on walking forever, which meant that eventually he would have to get off on a floor, but which one? Which one...

The brightly colored hippogryph didn't have time to dig too deep in to that thought. The sound of running steps caught his attention, and as he looked to see what was coming up behind him he nearly toppled over and fell backwards thanks to that dandy dog.

"What the hell, man!" he yelled, his tail fizzing out in anger and annoyance.

The guy must have been off his rocker, especially with what Rykier caught in his scream. Though he couldn't tell if the words were directed at him, or someone else. It didn't matter much. With a sigh escaping his lips, Ry darted after the demon looking student. Even if he wasn't much for socialization he figured he might as well see what's up in case something was going on.

"Hey! You, wait up now! Get your spaded a** back over here!"

Acheron was exploring the route through the corridors with caution, but when it became apparent that this part of the house (presumably because it was the entrance) had nothing too terrible in it, he'd relaxed a little, slowing down. He probably would have been content to wander without bothering anyone else - except that he was blocking the hallway, and as the dog demon came cannoning down the hallway, he would probably crash straight into the water demon - the latter spluttering furiously, black eyes narrowing and spines bristling angrily.
"What are you doing!?"

And that was how the Hippogriff would find them - an indignant deep-water demon bristling, and whatever the other demon was doing.

...I'd probably rather be asleep.
I'm so sleepy....

Ulmuka noticed an icy looking maiden giving him a sympathetic look. The sociable boil took this as a good opening to introduce himself. She was very interesting looking, not like anyone he'd seen before.

He followed her eyes to the ceiling, always grinning, and followed the rainbows until he was standing next to her. "Good evening.." His voice was rather coarse with a bit of a screech to it. "When I saw 'haunted' house I thought it would be a bit more... haunted." Pink with glitter and rainbows was not his idea of a haunt at all!

"I'm Ulmuka." He snatched the ghoul's hand in a jerky, yet gentle, motion and brushed a chivalrous kiss across the back of it. If she was receptive she would find him to be a rather close friend. Literally. He would hold her hand, her arm, hug her. It would only take a little interest for him to presume that all of those things would be okay. "I am not yet a student here but I am trying.." He giggled, a manic type of sound, but then jumped in surprise as a hatch in the ceiling opened and bunches of stuffed animals fell down into the hallway.

Faint's face fell when he looked at the sign. They'd obviously gone all out for this haunted house, and it was.. disgusting. Absolutely horrible.

With a sigh he pushed his way into the death trap and up the stairs, careful not to the touch the glittery pink railing for fear of getting some of it on him. He shoved his hands in his pockets and grimaced. How had they gotten a crew to set this up? It was awful. He wouldn't touch it for the world.

Cervantes was already slowing down by the time he realized he was going to barrel into whatever was producing that strong, foul odour. It wasn't even that the demon necessarily had an odour to him, but Cervantes' nose was so sensitive and he disliked being soggy and wet so much that it was revoltingly strong. His nose really could be a weakness. He was feeling queasy already. Regardless of his slowed speed, he was still moving too fast to avoid the water demon altogether, and rebounded off him with a startled yelp. He tumbled down behind him, likely into the Hippogriff, or in the Hippogriff's way-- he couldn't see behind him to check. "Pink things, sparkles, and now nasty smelling demons?" Van complained, wrinkling his nose as he tried to get back on his feet. "This is a terrible haunted house. At least you're not cute," he mumbled to the water demon.

"What was I doing? I was escaping this madness... wait, I think that I was-- no, I saw uh--" Van kept getting distracted and failing to finish his sentence. He looked around for the Hippogriff who had said he had a "spaded a**"? Whatever that meant. Van curled his sharp tail around himself and massaged his true wings, the black ones which seemed to sprout from his lower back. In his true form, they were supposed to enhance his movement... as this humanoid form, they just seemed to get in the way all the time. He stretched them out, flapped them twice to see if they still worked, and tried to address the Hippogriff.

"At least you smell better than it does," he said, which didn't really answer anyone's questions at all. "Why'd you two stop me, anyway?" As if they had been the ones causing trouble, not him.

As several other students began to file down the hallway, paintings and portraits catching the eyes of nearly each who scuttled past, Natalia was still hovering near the ghoul with bright blue hair and adorned appropriately for the festival, having drifted some from Riley and the undead boil she followed. Her grin spread wide as a response was made, appraising the young female before her critically...as was what Natalia usually did.

No amount of drama would hold the desire to flirt and charm her way through school events back; not when long, feminine features were standing before her, waiting (in Natalia's mind) patiently to be admired and gawked over. No more than three seconds passed before she made a motion to speak, only her concentration was interrupted by sound of toys hitting the floor...and the laughter of children echoing down the halls.

Neither seemed to disturb her all that much, although the stuffed toys falling from the ceiling certainly made her jump and glare toward the space above her...leave it up to the academy to put on frightening shows and props! Beneath the toys was a boil that ultimately caught her attention, as he had been lingering near the lot for quite some time without saying a word. He was a curious looking fellow that looked oddly familiar...For whatever reason she recalled seeing him outside of her window one night, hooting or something. Maybe that wasn't him...

He was suddenly wrapped up in conversation with the ghoul Natalia had taken mild interest in, and almost instantly she felt the sting of jealousy surge throughout her. Having not gotten in another word otherwise with the ghoul, she narrowed her gaze for but a moment before shaking her head. This was not the time to be herself...really. Not when she at least wanted to have some fun...In any case Natalia took several long, light steps toward the strix and promptly introduced herself--acting obviously to what might have been going on between them prior. "I have heard that haunted houses often have booby traps littering their walls, floors...you know, the like. I would be careful if I were you! By the way, my name is Natalia." Addressing both of the potential students, the monster folded her arms across her chest and did a broad sweep of the hall they were all traveling through. "They did a great job at...well, making this place extremely discomforting."

...Some ways in front of them, she caught sight of yet another portrait hanging on the wall. What and odd looking picture to hang in such a...themed home?

It was at this painful moment of being crashed in to that Rykier remembered why he hating socializing. It was at this moment that he remembered why he found most other people so annoying at times. The pain, the endless chatter…the pain. Oh, the world never seemed to think he ever had enough pain in this life, whether physical, emotional or mental. Nope. The hippogryph was just lucky that he managed to get a good grip on the railing before they both went tumbling down the stairs.

Giving a grunt once the dog demon moved away, Rykier moved away from the hell trap called the stairs and over to a safer location, if any location could really be called safe in the haunted house.

During the demon’s chatter he took a second to finally get a good luck at his “assailant” and then look at the “other victim”. To be a monster amongst demons, he didn’t really know how to feel, but then again neither looked dangerous, at least the dog didn’t.

“Tch, thanks for the compliment I guess…”

Rykier couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the comment, before going stiff at the question.

“I don’t know about the bristling guy over there,” he said as he nodded towards the water demon, “but you nearly sent me rolling down the stairs when you bulldozed passed me! What exactly got you all riled up like that, huh? Nothing in this place could be THAT scary or sickening.”

Mnnng, so tired...
If asked...

Acheron blinked, clear inner lids flicking across his pitch-black eyes - you couldn't really tell he was blinking unless you looked close enough. Usually he'd blink his outer eyelids too - but really, this was a haunted house, and he had no desire to -"YEEP!" Acheron was completely sidetracked from their conversation, as he darted behind the monster (he looked more intimidating; hence, more protective) as in front of them, an horrendously adorable puppy dressed in a sickeningly cute goldfish shirt trotted past. Whether it was illusion or reality - IT WAS TERRIFYING.

His finlike ears were pinned firmly back, eyes clenched shut.
This is why he didn't want to be around people. He was a scaredycat.

Muka grinned at the werelemur ghoul who suddenly spoke with them. "A pleasure!" He was genuinely delighted. "I love your clothing and your tail is delicious!" It wasn't clear if he meant that literally or if it was just a compliment but his hand swept up hers as well, brushing his lips across it in greeting just the same as he had to the icy blue haired ghoul.

"Well the staff did a wonderful job.." His head tilted to the side in an almost complete 180 as he looked at a strange portrait of a man. It didn't get to him like the babies laughter did. In fact the man's gaze reminded him strangely of his own father.

"It's positively... cheerful!" A shudder racked down his entire body, like a bird ruffling it's feathers but he erupted into another bout of manic giggles.

Marosa quickly backstepped in order to provide a distance between him and the other ghoul, hoping to Jack that she hadn't touched his bare skin. "Ah apologize," He murmured in his accent, taking to Minnie, "Ah did'nae see ye there." He, too, couldn't see through the fog, and grimaced as he waited to see if she was infatuated with him at all. He hoped not.

"Ah'm Marosa. A faerie." He gave a slight bow. It was simply too much right now to explain just what the Gancanagh were.

He heard a commotion behind him, and gave a sigh, hoping they too wouldn't run into him either.
