Egeria laughed and laughed some more.
In fact she laughed for quite a while, so much so tears started to run down from her eyes.
"Thats not a weapon!" She finally got out. She had wanted to show her powers off as well but what was the point? She wasn't going to get hurt much but any of that. How pathetic!
She laughed some more, she couldn't help it, the whole idea that a weapon looking like that was going to harm her was just too much to fathom.
"You must be a really lame agent if thats what weapon you got!" Or a really good one if she didn't need a dangerous weapon but that thought didn't go through Egeria's head. Maybe it should have.

"It's not the size of the weapon," argued Uranophane. "It's how you use it."
And in a practiced flash of motion she whipped her hand out, as if to strike Egeria with the pen -- but she wasn't out to cause any damage, instead aiming to slash a couple quick lines across the girl's bow and sailor collar. If she succeeded the marks would eat clean cuts into the fabric, bits of collar and bow fluttering to the ground in the aftermath of her faux-attack. Had the Captain been aiming for skin... the results would definitely have been a lot more unpleasant.
"And some things aren't what they appear to be." And then she was back to irritably crossing her arms. "I make a point not to need a weapon if I can help it. Real power should come of your own merit... not from tools or silly magic that are dropped into your lap. But that's probably a little over your head, isn't it?"

Egeria had luckily stopped laughing when the captain moved and as she moved she uttered the words she knew a little too well and was relieved that as the pen cut her bow it turned into a toy and so didn't cut anything else. The fact that it had scared her she didn't show, instead she smiled and nodded her head.
"I agree, things aren't always what they appear." She looked at the pen with a slightly smug look on her face. Though she did wonder what would have happened if she hadn't uttered the words she knew would keep her safe from it. She didn't know the captain was proving a point and not trying to do her damage.
She didn't say anything else though, part of her wanted to run home and find *********, the other part of her wanted to be stubborn and stay put, so she ended up saying nothing and standing where she was with her smug look slowly leaving her face.
