Ok, to start off remember when red XIII's grandpa is explaining about the mako energy? Well it showed all the different forms the mako energy transformed into. Mako Energy kept the vegitation alive along with the rest of the earth. Oil doesn't keep the vegitation alive. We use oil and turn it into different forms to help us live. Thats us, not the world. The earth's lifeblood would have to be flexible like the mako. In our world though I don't think that there would only be one substance that would be our world's lifeblood unless its unidentafied and/or undiscovered. I'm not saying its impossible that oil is our lifeblood. We don't understand everything so nothing can really be declared impossible.

Not really because oil doesnt really fuel the earth all it does when its released into the world is destroy whats around it...its not something that would give life all it does is give off energy and destroys stuff anways no matter what its made into...

That actually wouldn't work out, per se. You see, the Life Stream, a.k.a. Mako when condensed (materia if crystallized), is the LIFE blood of the planet. All life on Gaia (the name given to the planet in Advent Children) can not exist without Life Stream, because it is, in a sense, the very energy and source of life that is required for any living organism to exist.

Oil, on the other hand, is but a commodity used in various ways for the betterment of everyday life. Depending on the type of oil you are referring to, it can be used to soothe pain and fatigue, keep our cars running, or keep a lamp lit. I am assuming that you are referring to the oil that is used mostly for gas, but it is not the same thing.

Your car's gas won't grant life unto a kitten, but in the Final Fantasy VII universe, Life Stream will. Life Stream holds the souls of all living things that are eventually reborn after the soul breaks apart, going with pieces of other souls to make a new one.

Oil doesn't hold the soul of any living thing in it, except perhaps dinosaurs... Oh wait, it's not their souls, but decomposed remains. razz Or something like that.

Never really thought of it that way... I seriously doubt it. Even though because of it we are slowly destroying the earth because of the pollutants our vehicles give off once its turned into gas. Plus from what scientists have said about the consumption of oil, we would run out of it within a couple years. We'll have to find a new fuel source, but I seriously doubt that we'll kill the planet. But if it does end up killing the planet, we all know that you'll be the one looking at us all and saying, "See! See!! Didn't I tell you?!?!?!"
