@hiro: I don't believe that. Let me ask you and snuff a very personal question. Have you ever tried wanted to believe in God? I mean you wanted it so much that you prayed, or shouted, or...whatever you did to try and make contact with God?

I gave god a shot...when things got worse, I gave up on the idea of a caring and benevolent being, making sure we're all okay. And no, my disbelief isnt entirely out of spite. It's also from a scientific look at the world and what feels like common sense.

@hiro:
hmm....I'll make one of my parents from there...how's that? I can visit on holiday

@Fenrir: Have I tried? Is growing up as a Jehovahs witness - not celebrating any sort of holiday [including my birthday], being scolded just for not praying daily, and watching my cousin and my grandmother die of the same illness after I prayed several different times for them- enough? Both my cousin [who was 14] and my grandmother died of tuberculosis, the same illness I had just a year and a half ago. Everything happens for a reason? They are in a better place now? Hell no, they died in pain and are six feet under.....

Enough of that depressing talk now, :3.

@Snuff: I wish I was in London in the early '80's. lol. I heard they had a kickass time.

And yet you never heard God speak to you did you? You never saw your grandparents did you?

Yet by your own theory you said that people who see dead family members just wished it enough that their mind tried to make it real. So why didn't the same happen to you? Did you just not want God to speak to you enough? Did you just not miss your family members enough? I doubt that. I bet you tried everything you could to make things right.

So what then? Everybody who says they saw a ghost is just delusional? Schizophrenic maybe? What about those who see ghosts of people they've never even met before, and then do months of research to finally find that a civil war battle happened right on their property? Or something like that?

The point is that I thought of what you're proposing once too, but the number and events of the eyewitness acounts just don't stack up to such a statistic to make it probable. Maybe in some cases, but most I'd say no way.

But indeed, lets move onto another topic. HAS ANYONE, I MEAN ANYONE HERE EVER HAD SOMETHING SUPERNATURAL HAPPEN TO THEM PERSONALLY?

Does praying for constant mental abuse to end count as hard enough, does praying that god will somehow stop your family from falling apart in front of you count as hard enough?

Believe me, I wanted it all to end hard enough. And when it was all over, so was any ounce of faith I had. But anyway, you mentioned supernatural stuff?

We've got this legend in south England, the Beast of Exmoore, It's basically a large black lion stalking the region of Exmoore. I dont believe it, but I do believe I saw a formation of UFOs once.
I was at a friend's house for a sleep over, and everyone was on her trampoline. I looked at the sky, and saw a series of 5 lights fly across the sky, then shoot up and vanish...the turn they made was unnatural, like it couldnt have been made by stuff we have today....it was like a 90 degree turn with no decelleration...I may have been seeing stars cause I had ust been knocked on my a**, but still, lol

I once thought that I saw my cousin once, but I knew that the only thing I've seen were fragments of old memories that I've had with him. Thats all.
I'm not going to lie, I wanted God to speak to me, but I realized that my prayers were for nothing. God is morale booster for people. They don't want to live life thinking that its going to go to waste once the die, so they have convinced themselves to believe some spiritual man that lives outside of time will help them in their times of trouble.

But to avoid the inevitable argument to come, lets just move on to your ghost topic.

If reincarnation does exist I think I'd just settle for being white again. XD

Well if you take in the theory that Asian will rule the world, you might want to consider that. I mean imagine Japan get to control U.S territory. You will come back to a world that sang not, Remember the Alamo, but Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki!

Oh and are we still up to discussion, because I have one hell of a theory on God.

Well ok, so let assume that the Almighty God is real and that every that is said in the bible is true. God, who's all knowing and all powerful, exist outside of time. So present, future, and past to him or her is all the same, but let assume that God, like us, go through phases. I mean if he, or she, don't go through phases then he or she would not go all crazy and genesis's the human race with flood and Armageddon. OK, so God is like us, he or she go through phases. That mean, and this may sound nut but consider the fact, that God went through puberty at the point in which his son is born. Past God, all mean, angry, kill without warning, but still love you. Now god, all proud, happy, and forgiving. Puberty anyone?
