Mitsu watched Xiu carefully as she cracked her eggs open into her concoction, measuring out the dark liquid and then stirring. That seemed easy enough! Grabbing up the required amount of eggs Mitsu started cracking them over the bowl though her technique wasn't nearly as skillful. In fact it lacked any real skill at all. Instead bits of egg shell fell into the batter here and there which ended up getting lost amongst her overly sugary substance. The liquid measuring went a little smoother but again Mitsu used a little too much. I...it would be okay right? Right.

"Stir until smooth, got it." She nodded in an almost determined fashion. Her face was the picture of concentration as she battled with the dough to make it as smooth as possible. The lycan got a little over zealous at times splashing a bit here and there but somehow managed to contain it mostly in the bowl. When she was done her dough didn't look that much different that the baku's. That must have meant she was doing something right.

"Ooh, I would love to see the pictures you took," Mitsu smiled slightly again. Prom had been rather fun and it would be nice to see the moments Xiu had managed to capture.

"We're almost done, so I'll get the photos out for you right after!" Furrowing her brows, she leaned over to read the next step in the recipe book, and then nodded with understanding. "Okay! Now we just mix in the dry ingredients! It'll be a little tougher to mix though, so you can always use your hands to try kneading it a little too!"

In went five cups of flour, a little bit baking powder, and a pinch of salt. She started out by mixing it with the spoon, but when it began to prove difficult, the Baku dove in with her hands instead. By the time she was done, she had a ball of smooth dough, and she held it up with a happy grin. So far so good!

"So after you do this, we want to put it in the fridge for a little bit to let it cool! Then we roll the dough out, use the spookie cutters to make shapes, and bake them." She wrapped the ball of dough up and dumped it on a tray, deciding she would put both of their spookie dough batches in the fridge together. Moving closer to Mitsu, Xiu peered into the other ghoul's mixing bowl and nodded approvingly. "It's looking pretty good!" She commended, clapping.

Mitsu gave a nod looking over the dry ingredients she had to add. She tried to be careful about it, she really did, but the flour ended up going everywhere in a white cloudy poof. With a sigh she tried to dust herself off before she added the other things to the bowl and started to mix. Like Xiu she mixed with the spoon until that became difficult. However, instead of stopping she beat at the batter with the wooden spoon only stopping when she realized she would get further with her hands. Was part of the spoon missing? Nah, it was probably like that before.

Kneading the dough with her hands Mitsu's ball didn't look too much different that Xiu's. It was very similar though it held a much more interesting surprise. "I think its done." With Xiu's help she wrapped up the dough and allowed the baku to place it in the refrigerator along side her own batch.

Now it was on to pictures! Mitsu was very excited to relive the moments of Prom. It had been quite and exciting adventure. "Prom was fun, do you think it will be the same next year?"

Wiping her hands off on a cloth, and passing a clean one to Mitsu, the Baku cheerfully bounded over to her desk to retrieve a stack of pictures. "I definitely hope so," She smiled in reply to the ghoul's question, "Or maybe it'll be even better next year." Xiu thought that it would be nice if she could work up the courage to ask more people to dance next time. She didn't even get a chance to dance with Lizzy or Mitsu! She would have to amend that at the next school dance.

She reached out to take Mitsu's hand, leading her to the couch and flopping down on one side. "Let me know if you want any--or even all--of these pictures, okay? I'll make you copies!" She waited until the other ghoul was seated and comfortable before she slowly flipped through the photos, one at a time.

Most of the photos she took were...not very serious Sure, there were a couple general pictures of students dancing, but the others? There were pictures of sausage eating, strange dancing, hip thrusts, and people (namely Jericho and Junko) getting dragged under a table by tentacles that could only belong to Riley.

...And of course, there were the adorable pictures of Shun and Mitsu dancing, along with Shun and Mitsu...doing the hip thrust. Xiu smiled. "I can make you copies of these?"

When the clean cloth was passed over to her Mitsu began to clean her hands and face, though there was still a bit of flour here and there that she managed to miss. It looked as though she had gotten in a fight with the flour bag and it had possibly won.

That mostly done she allowed Xiu to lead her back to the couch and had a seat eagerly awaiting the pictures. "O..okay." It would be nice to get some pictures, Mitsu hadn't taken any herself. She had left her eyephone at the dorm for safe keeping.

Eyes lighting up at the pictures, Mitsu looked them over like a curious child. There were apparently some moments she had missed and some that had never been explained. "W..why do the boy's look so...." She didn't know how to describe it as she pointed to everyone in the background of the sausage eating pictures. "uumm.....off?" They certainly looked awkward, a few could be seen with blushes on their faces, like Jericho who was obviously staring.

That aside the lupine smiled looking down at the pictures of her and Shun together. She almost giggled remembering the hip thrusting event though she still didn't really get it but a light blush crossed her cheeks looking at the other picture. It was one of her fondest memories so far other than meeting so many new friends. "C..can I have a copy of these?" She asked. If nothing else she wanted to have those to keep though she was certain she would want others.

Laughing at some of Mitsu's reactions, Xiu nodded slowly when the sausage picture with pointed out. "Yes I...to be honest, I wasn't really sure what was going on at the time," She admitted, giggling as she thought back to that evening, "But I couldn't pass up taking a picture." Observing the photo a little more closely, the Baku couldn't help but smile a little at the expressions on the boils' faces. She wasn't entirely sure what had been going on, but it still made for a funny picture.

"I'll make you copies of all of them and get them to you by tomorrow." She promised, grabbing a pad of paper from the top of the coffee table and scribbling down a reminder. "Do you think Shun would want copies too?" To be honest, she was still a little nervous around the quiet reaper, so she much preferred asking Mitsu rather than Shun directly.

They had spent a good while reviewing all the photos--long enough, the Baku determined, that the spookie dough should have chilled enough to roll out. Jumping up from off the couch, she clasped her hands behind her back and grinned at the other ghoul. "Ready for the next step?" The rolling pins and spookie cutters had already been laid out earlier, so all Xiu had to do was take out the chilled balls of dough and demonstrate.

"You don't want to roll it out too thin," She explained, unwrapping her ball of dough and running it over with the rolling pin, "But make sure it's not too thick either, or else it won't bake well. After this, you just take a spookie cutter, and press down on the dough like so...got it?" There was a variety of different spookie cutters laid out, from human-shaped ones, to wolves, to pumpkins, and even to basic shapes like hearts and circles.

Mitsu smiled down at the pictures though she had to think. Would Shun want a copy? "Sure," She wanted to remember the night maybe he did too. "If we could get a copy of these.." She pointed two a few of them, especially those with Shun in the picture. It was hard to see him in the sausage picture though, his head was fairly downcast and he had pulled his hat in the way.

Their picture project didn't last long though. Soon it was back to the spookies. Following Xiu back to her small kitchen, Mitsu watched the baku carefully trying to take in what she was doing. "Yeah, I think I got it." Taking her own ball of dough Mitsu watched as Xiu rolled it out but she had to be careful not to make it thin. With great concentration she rolled out her dough trying to make it even throughout.

Once it was rolled out flat Mitsu looked over the spookie cutters that Xiu had laid out. So she was supposed to press those into the dough to make the shapes. Taking up the human-shaped cutter Mitsu made a few of those before switching to the wolf and then to the pumpkin. From there she seemed to settle on the simple rough shapes trying to focus on not making a mess. "What do we do now?" She asked once she had all her shapes made.

Another note had been scribbled down on the pad of paper when Mitsu picked out photos, along with a nod from Xiu to indicate that she understood. This reminded her that she would need to ask the others if they wanted copies as well--she'd best get on that later tonight, if she was going to go and print the photos for Shun and Mitsu tomorrow.

While Mitsu cut out her spookies, Xiu carefully prepared two trays and set them to the side. When the other ghoul was finished, she moved them onto the counter top.
"We'll just slide them on the trays," She carefully dropped all her cut spookies onto one of the trays,
"And then we bake them!" She wanted both of their batches to bake evenly, so she waited until Mitsu had all her spookies on her tray before popping them into the oven and setting the timer. Fortunately, they would only take a few minutes at most.

"See, Mitsu?" The Baku smiled as she switched on the oven light, pointing at their baking creations,
"You're pretty good at this! I'm sure Shun will love them." From what she could see, their two batches looked identical in color and texture, which was definitely a good sign that everything had gone as planned.

"Did you want to decorate them after too? That's part is the most fun." Pausing, she eyed the human-shaped cookies that the Lupine had made before grinning.
"You could make one that looks like Shun to give to him?" She still found it awfully sweet that Mitsu had chosen Shun as the receiver of her spookies. Xiu liked to think that people typically chose those dear to them when giving away homemade goods. It came from the heart, you know?

...Or she was really just a ridiculous romantic at heart.

Carefully Mitsu moved her cookies to the tray when Xiu set them on the counter. Once they were set both batches were placed in the oven and Mitsu smiled rather contently watching them bake. As far as she knew she had followed Xiu's instructions pretty closely so they would be the same right?

"Decorate them?" The lycan asked with a perked interest. That did sound fun but she wasn't so sure on her ability to make it look like Shun. Maybe she would try something simple first. She did have a few people shaped cookies. "I think that's a good idea." Mitsu nodded her smile warming a little.

"What should we do in the meantime while they bake?" It didn't look like they had to bake long, but there was still a short time where they would have nothing to do. "Do you want me to help clean up while we wait?" It would be rude to just leave the mess and if they got started on it now maybe everything would be cleaned up by the time the cookies were done.

It was nice, Xiu decided, to be able to spend some time with the other ghoul. Beyond the dance lessons and prom, they hadn't had much time to interact or hang out. "Next time I'll teach you something a little more complicated if you'd like?" She suggested, looking eager, "Cupcakes, maybe?" It would be a lot of fun if they had baking sessions every so often! Maybe they could invite other people too?

She shook her head quickly at the suggestion, taking the bowls and utensils so that she could rinse them in the sink. "Don't you worry about it, Mitsu! You're my guest! Just leave them to me." When she turned to look at the Lupine, Xiu paused and giggled lightly. "I think you missed a bit of flour from earlier." She tapped at her own cheek to indicate where the flour was, before grabbing another clean cloth and lightly swiping it away for her.

"Have you heard about the upcoming festival?" The Floresctival Festival, she believed it was? "Are you looking forward to it?" The spookies were already very close to being done--just another minute or so, and the timer would go off.

If she wasn't going to let her clean up Mitsu was really for a loss for what to do. Starting to fidget with her shirt a little the lupine looked to the oven shortly before Xiu brought up an interesting topic. "Oh, I've heard a little bit about it." Mitsu nodded. "I..I would like to go." She wondered if Shun would take her. It would certainly be more fun that way. Like Prom!

"What do you think it will be like?" Mitsu asked curiously. "Will it be like Prom with the food and dancing?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 05, 2011 10:08 pm

"Mm, I don't know." Xiu mused, frowning thoughtfully, "I've never been to the festival before." When the oven let out a little ping, she went to check the cookies, pulling them out with a oven mitt and setting the trays aside for a bit to let them cool. "There might be dancing? I'm sure there will be lots of games though!" After all, that's what festivals were all about, right? Playing games for prizes?

Covering the counter with some wax paper, Xiu grabbed the colored icing from out her fridge, and then slide all the spookies onto the wax paper so that the could be decorated without making a mess. "They should be fine to decorate now," She smiled, gesturing at their baked goods, "Just take the icing bags like this to pipe it onto the spookies, okay? Use whatever colors you want!"

After a moment of pause, she smiled at Mitsu slyly, giving a little tilt of her head. "So, are you planning on going with anyone in particular? The festival, I mean."

It didn't seem Xiu knew what to expect either. That was okay though, if it was like Prom it would no doubt be fun but maybe a little over stimulating at times. It was doable, especially when Mitsu had a chance to do the hanging out with her new friends.

"I..I'm not very good at games," Mitsu could only recall how open house had went. The horror...the horror.

At the sound of the ping Mitsu's ears perked so high they almost touched, her attention turning to the over. Following Xiu over she watched the baku pull the cookies out of the over carefully with a mitt letting them cool for a moment. After a short time it was time to decorate. Mitsu wasn't sure where to start. Maybe it would be best to start with something simple to get the hang of it?

Picking out orange to start with the pumpkin Mitsu have Xiu's question some thought. "I...I don't know." Shun hadn't mentioned anything but she kind of hoped he would take her. "What about you? Are you going with anyone?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:37 pm

"I'm sure you're not bad at games," Xiu told her firmly, "After all, you said you weren't very good at baking, right?" Grinning, she gestured towards the other ghoul's spookies as proof that, yes, she could bake, and very well too! They looked pretty much identical to the spookies pictured in the recipe book.

Icing a happy face onto one of her cookies--she intended on wrapping them up and giving them out to some friends later--Xiu shook her head at the question. "Mm, nope! Well..." That wasn't entirely true. At least, she didn't know that it was right now. "Maybe I'll find someone to go with? But I haven't made any plans yet."

She fell silent for a bit, working on icing the rest of her batch. Most of the batch, at least--for some reason, she slid some of her human-shaped spookies to the side for now. She had a special plan for those that could wait until another time.

"Are you giving all those to Shun?" She gestured to Mitsu's spookies, and then opened the cabinet and dug around for something. After a bit of searching, Xiu pulled out some black cellophane paper and a roll of orange ribbon. "I'm giving some of mine away, so I like to make them look nice." She began to wrap up a few small batches of her iced spookies, pausing so that she could turn to smile at Mitsu. "If you plan on giving all of yours to Shun, you can have some of mine."

"Games are...a challenge," The lycan didn't have much luck when it came to not being injured. "Maybe we can meet up at the festival and do the hanging out together," Mitsu smiled carefully icing her spookies. At least she seemed to have a knack for that. Her lines looked fairly decent, though the designs were simple.

Once she had a few iced Mitsu looked to Xiu when she mentioned giving them to Shun. "I...I suppose?" She had planned on giving him quite a few anyway. Watching the baku prepare her spookies in the paper with the ribbon Mitsu tried to mimic the process, carefully placing the cookies in the cellophane paper, making it into a make-shift bag and tying the top off with a string of ribbon and making a bow.

Standing back a moment Mitsu eyed her work actually looking fairly pleased with herself. She didn't think she could do it but with Xiu's help she had been able to. Nothing had caught on fire! "I really appreciate you spending the time showing me how to make these....I wonder if I should take them over to him now."
