As usual Shun didn't say a whole lot but Mitsu was getting used to that. She was getting a little better at making up for a lack of conversation....a little. "....." Okay she was still working on it but the gears were at least turning.
And then Mitsu's rper derped for about an hour
"I can understand the outlet," Mitsu nodded finally. She often played the piano when she was sad or lonely because it reminded her of a time when everyone was there. It helped a little to relieve the sensation of being alone at least for a little while. "So did you teach yourself?"

"I did."
Shun continued to walk on along at a relatively leisurely pace, not really in a hurry to get to the music shop and all. It seemed like he wasn't going to elaborate any further than that, but he soon continued on after the pause.
"As you might have guessed I can't really read sheet music. Or tabs for that matter. Just gotta play by ear or whatever comes to me at the time," he explained.

"That's pretty amazing though, to be able to learn to play without the aid of sheet music." Mitsu certainly sounded impressed. "I don't use sheet music much anymore but I had to when I first started. I can remember my parents showing me what notes went to what key." It was almost like a distant dream though. They had gone missing when she was only five leaving her with her brother and Mr. Adolphus.
"What type of music do you like to play?" Mitsu asked, deciding to keep the conversation going. "I tend to play classical a lot but I like other faster music too."

At the compliment, Shun just sort of shrugged.
"It wasn't easy. I'll say that much," he said. He wasn't just able to pick up a guitar one day and start going at it. It was probably also a bit lucky of him that his father didn't trash the guitar upon finding it. The man was such a hard a**.
"I play whatever comes to mind at the time," the Reaper replied, "So it's kind of a mix of things I guess you could say."

Mitsu smiled behind the cover of her mask. She was nervous about what she wanted to say next, afraid she would be crossing the line since Shun already said he didn't play around other people but...."I...hope I can hear you play someday. I bet you're really good." There was the sound of a smile in her voice as she followed behind the reaper closely as they finally entered the edge of town.
"Do you need to pick up anything while we're in town?" Mitsu asked so this trip wouldn't be completely about her.

Shun paused there at her words, turning towards the masked girl quietly for the moment. There was a sort of hope in her tone. It kind of reminded him of the prom actually.
"...Perhaps some time," he said, rather than shooting it down completely outright. In the back of his mind he had to wonder if he had been growing soft or something like that. He was actually considering letting her hear him play! Then again, that might not really mean all that much. The Reaper supposed he could let Lizzy sit in at some point.
That girl kept pestering him about it and he was a little more comfortable around her. Not quite as comfortable as he was with Mitsu, but it was there.
"Nothing off the top of my head but perhaps that'll change as we move on through town."

Maybe...sometime? So there was hope! He hadn't actually shot the idea down like Mitsu expected. It was quite the pleasant surprise. "I...I'll play for you too." Mitsu offered. "The piano..err...keyboard I mean." It was similar but different. Nothing quite matched sitting at a piano nor hearing the way the notes played but there was no way she could afford or drag around an actual piano.
To the last part Mitsu gave a nod. If he thought of something he needed she would gladly walk with him to go get it. He was taking him out of his day to take her to the music shop after all.
After a bit more talking they finally made it to the shop in question. It was a small place, a large drum kit displayed in the bay window in the front. Walking through the door the bell gave a soft musical jiggle altering the man sitting behind the counter who had his feet propped up reading a newspaper.
"Oh, hello," He said straightening himself out in a hurry trying to look a little more professional. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Thinking about that some, Shun figured it would be pretty nice to hear her play. A part of him was kind of curious what her playing would be like exactly. He was certain it was nice if she had been playing ever since she was a little girl.
Once they were at the shop, the Reaper pretty much dismissed the shopkeeper, shaking his head at the guy. Instead, he looked around the store for where the keyboards were kept. They weren't too far off, so he went on over towards them to give them a look.
He looked back towards Mitsu to see if she was coming, then turned his attention back to the instruments.
"See anything?" he asked her. Some of them looked rather nice, but it was hard to tell if they were any good for playing just by glancing at them.

Mitsu's gaze shifted nervously from the shop keeper before turning to Shun. It seemed he had found the keyboards right off the bat and she was quick to follow to give them a look over. They all seemed really nice, most of them were pretty big too, though she wouldn't be able to carry anything too large.
"Let me see..." She thought curiously her fingers trailing over the closest keyboard and pressing down on a note to hear the tune.
"That one is quite nice," The shop keeper had almost poofed beside them, obviously ignoring Shun's little gesture that they didn't need help. He seemed to be a demon of some sort, a tail with a spade like tip flail behind him and a pair of horns at the side of his head.
"You should have a look at this one." He continued in that salesman like pitch. "It has all the latest features, you can make it sound like anything you want." It was also the most expensive keyboard they had. Always start with the most expensive and work your way down.
Mitsu's ears fell back a little looking at the salesman. She really didn't want something that made a lot of different tunes. She....really only needed it to sound like a piano...but she didn't want to be rude. Should he follow and listen?

Hearing the shopkeeper speak up, Shun narrowed his eyes as the guy had jumped in to start the sales pitch. Aside from butting in like that, he was going for the most expensive thing here. Sure it seemed nice, but he couldn't tell if it was anything what Mitsu wanted. This wasn't exactly the same as phone shopping and all.
"She'll find one on her own," he said lowly, "So please. Excuse us."
There was a bit of hostility in his tone, and he motioned for Mitsu to continue on with her search for an instrument.

Looking to Shun Mitsu gave a nod and turned back to the keyboard that she had been looking out. However, like any good salesman the man was not deterred by Shun's glare or hostel tone. Oh no, it only gave him more drive.
"There is a lot to look through, I'm here to answer questions and help with the selection process." The man stepped up to another keyboard and began to point out its features. "You obviously have a passion for music or you wouldn't be here. Any good musician needs something that will work beyond their expectations. The quality is in what you pay." And just like the last this one was pretty expensive but only slightly cheaper.
Nervously Mitsu looked at the salesman to the keyboard she was looking at. It wasn't terribly expensive, it was smaller compact and looked somewhat simple in nature....it seemed rather perfect in her mind. But...apparently she needed something more? She wasn't really sure.

Shun really wasn't appreciating how determined this salesdemon was. Glaring at the guy, he cut in on what he was trying to say.
"Just get what calls to you Mitsu. This is what you'll be playing your soul through," he said sternly. If one of the more expensive things was what called out to her, then fair enough. But he wasn't going to let this money grubbing demon try and swindle her into getting it.
Turning towards the salesman, he hissed, "She doesn't need your help so you can back off now ok?"

"Play...my soul through," That certainly hit home with Mitsu. Quietly she looked over the keyboards again her gaze shifting to the one in front of her to the one the man was trying to sell her. Again her fingers reached out to brush the keys of the one she had been looking at. Luckily it was on and the notes that it emitted were clear and crisp.
"I...like this one.." It wasn't the most expensive but it also wasn't the cheapest but....the sound it made was quite nice though Mitsu wasn't quite ready to play a tune in front of this stranger.
The salesman gave a sly grin to Shun when it seemed he had gotten under the boy's skin. "Easy, there chap. I'm only trying to help." But it seemed the girl had made up her mind...and she was of course picking something cheap...."A..are you sure that's what you want?"
Mitsu looked back at the keyboard for a moment before she gave a nod. "Yes, this one's good."
The salesman gave a sigh. "I'll go grab one from the back." At least he was making a sale, he should be happy but damn he was hoping for a better commission.

Since the salesman had backed down from trying to talk her into something pricey and possibly something she didn't want, Shun relaxed and turned his attention back towards the girl. The sounds the keyboard had made sounded pretty nice and no doubt she would be able to play beautifully with it.
"Do you need help buying it?" he asked quietly, essentially offering to cover some or all of the cost of the item.
As he asked this, he looked over the instrument she had picked out, pressing down one of the keys himself. The piano wasn't something he was able to play or really something he was interested in picking up, but he did enjoy how they sounded. It was a pretty versatile instrument with a rather nice range of notes and all.

Mitsu watched the salesman slink off before turning back to Shun. "N..no I should have enough." It would be mostly what she had if she bought a case to tote it around in too but its what she had been saving for after all.
Making her way up to the counter Mitsu pulled out her bag with the silver she had collected, picking out a case before the salesman returned to avoid the hassle with that as well.
The purchasing part of the procedure went pretty quickly and soon Mitsu was leaving the shop with her keyboard securely in her new case and strapped to her back. It was a little awkward to carry at the moment but she could manage. She would have to get used to it after all.
"Thanks for helping me today. Did you think of anything you needed to get while we were out?"
