She smiled a little as the other repeated the time, getting somewhat used to the awed response. Maybe it was that the influx was so slow in the beginning.. or maybe they were loosing members but it seemed so many of the senshi had been awakened within the past year or even months. The veterns like her were so far and between. Atleast though her old team had seemed to survive whatever and stick together even if only vaguely. Castor... Europa... They still remained even as others seemed to have dissappeared. What Polaris wouldn't have given to have a chat with Nerissa or Miriam these days. Even Taranis, who for so long had been so active... where had he went to?
She nodded gently to the thanks, hand brushing away the sentiment. "You're very welcome. I'm happy to help however I can. We're all allies after all."
The question that sounded caused her a moment of pause, and she took a minute to think on it before she responded. The curious senshi certainly deserved a well thought out answer to such a heavy question.
"That's... a really rough question. Have you ever heard of the red queen hypothesis?"
Her fingers swirled around each other as she parroted the theory she'd learned in her days at Crystal Academy. "It takes all the running you can do, just to keep in the same place"
"Sometimes it really does feel very much like every time we break ahead something happens that gives them a new edge. Between youma and human enemies we've always been outnumbered. And they've always seemed better organized then us.. Plus that cool trick of teleporting away whenever they're in trouble. But at the same time.. it doesn't feel as if we're just losing the battle."
"When I first began the negaverse was slaughtering people on the streets.. ripping out their very souls and life forces.. Whether it's because of us or not that's changed now. With some exceptions they've changed to simply culling energy.. which is still wrong. But still.. the obituaries seem to have shortened.. even only a little."
"And while I can't say with 100% certainty, if my friend is correct we currently have more of the rainbow crystals then they have which.. we were told at one point were important to collect and keep away from them"
"It may seem cheesy... or naive.. but we're the good guys. I know it deep down in my heart, and from anything I've ever seen the good guys always win in the end. In large scale battles we most often seem to come out on top. It is almost always them retreating from the battles like that, not us. We kill youma left and right. We protect and save those who need it, hopefully more times then they succeed."
"It's a battle far slower and harder then anyone could have ever wanted.. but I do think that things are changing. And that we're winning.. even if it's just one inch at a time."

Polaris had a point - Kallichore herself had no doubt that the Negaverse corrupted just as many officers into their ranks as the cats awakened senshi. Each side was trying to outdo the other, trying to even the odds and then push things into their favor. The red queen hypothesis was correct - it took everything they had just to break even. Kallichore shifted her wait and started to pace again. In the grand sceme of things, it really did all make sense. The fact that both sides were fairly even meant the super senshi's work was really cut out for her - she had to find out how to make her own youma, or something in order to even the score. As much as she loved being a senshi, she also wanted to win the war, and to do that, she needed knowledge.
"I know this is probably old hat by now and you're likely tired, but... what are the rainbow crystals, and why are they significant?" She'd never heard the term before, and probably never met anyone who had a crystal in their possession. If the senshi had more of them than the Negaverse, that had to mean something positive for their side, right? "And... do you know what the opposite force of Chaos is, Polaris?" She wouldn't explain unless prompted since her research was so near and dear to her heart, but if an eternal could give her a clue as to the mystery of the youma... Polaris or Europa would know best, being around as long as they were.
Her confidence was infectious, in a way. Kallichore nodded her agreement. "Yes, I hope you're right. If things are changing for the better, even subtly, then we're winning in some sense. Even if things are slow, I'll keep fighting until the Negaverse no longer exists, and we call all rest easy again."

It was painfully obvious how in the dark the newer senshi apparently were. It was hardly their fault of course, but the more info that she thought was common knowledge that she was having to explain.. the more she understood just how frusteratingly ill organized they were.
"The rainbow crystals first appeared during halloween. A... image.. like a ghost or a hologram of the moon princess appeared and told us all we needed to get it."
"I believe we were told later on at a meeting that they once belonged to the princess.. and she used the power to turn the tides and win a very important battle in the past. Some of use have been thinking if we gather all of them well.. I don't know. But atleast it's a goal we can work towards."
"And regardless, on their own they seem to grant a special power to whoever gets it."
A hand reached down to brush at her layered skirts mildly, shifting in position as the other girl paced. "Opposite force...? One would think order would be the opposite to chaos." If you were talking dictionary terms. But obviously that's not what she meant.. shrugging lightly, she threw out her best guess, uncertain really of what the other girl was after. "Light... or purity maybe?" It was the closest to a term she'd ever heard regarding what gave them power or what their essesnces were made of.
Kallichore received a soft and thankful nod to her words. So dedicated. Truly the type of senshi that their side needed, a real kindred spirit.
"If you have more questions down the line you can always give me a call. And if you're ever looking for a team the Celestial Shepards would totally love to have you." She didn't need to mention the fact that.. at the current she was the only member.. but hey, that'd change soon enough, she just knew it!

Ah, so there was yet another goal to achieve, but Kallichore didn't mind. The more goals she had, the more things she could shift between when one goal seemed out of reach or there simply couldn't be any more progress made. The rainbow crystals seemed like a good enough goal if the youma research wasn't getting her anywhere. She had so much on her list, but she'd rather have too much to do than too little. Being idle, to Kallichore, was nearly the same as a heavy sin.
The mentioning of another team made the super senshi's heart tighten. While she thought she was loyal to the Blood Moon, her loyalty seemed to be shifting slightly. After meeting Europa and other moons of Jupiter, Kallichore was becoming more and more convinced that their Court might be the ultimate place for her in the future. But that was the future. At the moment, she had a Court and couldn't give them up. "I appreciate the offer. I'll definitely consider it. In the meantime... I'll be on the lookout for these Rainbow Crystals. I would assume there would be, what...? Six? Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet? And if our side has more than the Negaverse, I'd assume we have at least four. That means I have a few to be on the lookout for..."
Mentally, she started rearranging the information in her head and would have to write it down for cataloging later. There was so much she didn't know, and Polaris' guess on the Chaos problem was probably on the right track. But how did one channel order? She would have to question a Nega about how chaos is channeled to make a youma to find the answer to that question. Ah, always something else to do.

"I believe they correspond with the colors of the rainbow so yes.. all of those plus indigo. Seven maybe? Perhaps more?" Really her information of it wasn't.. 100%. There were never memos on anything that really could have used a memo or bulletin board.
Lifting her hands lightly she motioned about the size of a golfball with her hands. "They are roughly this big, colorful, and you'll definately feel a bit of power coming from them."
"I don't know if it's possible to.. steal or reclaim the ones that the negaverse already has, but it may be worth trying if the oppurtunity presents itself."
Bringing her phone back up, she motioned lightly at the other girl with, silent permission to scan her for her information and add her to her phone. "Why don't we add each other at the very least. That way if either of us finds out anything important, or if you have any more questions I can try to help"

The super senshi nodded in appreciation for the information on the Rainbow Crystals. Seven, or perhaps more, she said. Good - now Kallichore had more on the crystals than when she started. Raising her own phone to Polaris, she said, "Yes, please. If I come up with any additional information, I'll be sure to send it to you. I can't thank you enough for what you've given me tonight." With a flash and a snap, Polaris' information was stored away in Kallichore's senshi phone. Magnetism, yes, eternal was there too. Good, it seemed like everything was in order.
The nearby clock struck two in the morning, sounding its bells deep into the night. Kallichore sighed. Knowing the time made her even more eager to go to bed. Bowing to Polaris, she smiled. "I should get going, but I do plan to meet you again sometime. Maybe one day I'll have those wings as well." It would take a lot of hard work, but Kallichore was prepared for that. She ate, drank, breathed and lived hard work and loved every minute of it. Turning away from the eternal senshi, the super leaped over the railing surrounding their platform and slowly descended the building through a series of careful jumps. It would be a while before she got home to bed, but thank god it was a weekend.
