*Come the day of the race, six of the registered participants found themselves outside the city in their respective craft. Many restaraunts and bars use their radios and televisions to bring the race to their customers. Over a radio, you hear the broadcast*

Announcer: Well ladies and gentlemen, it's a gorgeous day in the city of Avantgarde, and we're here to kick off the Vanguardian Grand Prix! Sponsoring this event is Serato Industries, the sixth largest producer of mecha technology on Earth! Now our racers are in position and there's the flag! I see Dion, Guilliam and Governor Fedelki shooting out to the front, but the rest of the pack seems to be experiencing some engine trouble.....WHOA! It seems to be contagious! Guilliam seems to be slowing down as Garde takes the lead! Dion and Arcaith are pulling into the pack while Partisus is still struggling with his engine......I see Yaeger struggling with his controls and.........WOW! He's managed a repair and has taken a good length ahead of the pack! This could be it folks! It's Yaeger and Dion neck and neck......it's gonna be........*The sound of an engine tearing through the open vaccuum of space can be heard in the background* HOLY! I've never seen anything like that in all my years of announcing! Arcaith has fixed his engine and has shot past the both of them and crossed the finish line! As if that weren't enough, Garde pulls in right behind him for a stunning second place! I see Guilliam coming in for third with Dion hot on his trail! Coming in next is Partisus with Governor Fedelki in dead last.........ooo, I don't care what planet you're coming from, THATS gotta hurt. Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd hate to be somebody who bet against Arcaith, as we can see he's clearly a master at pulling miracles out of his hat! We'll see you next time at the Grand Vanguard Grand Prix, airing next at the city of Vann Sky! Our racers will be taking a few days off to relax, so please don't hound them for autographs!

Arc: *Returning to the White Phantom to dock after the race, Arc takes his helmet off as he hops out of the cockpit. As he does so, his three mechanics runs up to him, cheering.*

Rob and Frank: YEAAH! WHOOO! FIRST PLACE!!

*Runs up to him to take both sides of him and pat him in the back.*

Ward: That was some sick stunt you pulled off back there. You came out of nowhere.

Arc: Thanks, guys. That's still only one race though, so can't start cheering now.

So what!! You won first place!!

Lay Giev, Reporter: *A man with a microphone and a camera crew walks up to them.*

Hello, this is Lay Giev of VNN Sports News. May we have a minute or two for an interview?

Sure, I don't mind.

Dion: *Watches Arc getting all the attention from the dock above..*

Arc: *After finishing up the maintenance on the Methus, he walks over to Guilliam, tossing the work gloves aside.*

That was a good race, Mr. Yaeger. It's been a while since that Hyper Gate Mission in Vann Sky. What have you been doing since then?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 14, 2004 8:39 pm

Guilliam: Ah, Arc. It has been a while since then. I've been taking care of a few odds and ends around Vanguard with Serato Industries. The head honcho wants to establish some weapons shop, but then he thinks that a new Tech Store might be in order.

*From behind them comes Tack*

Tack: Hey Guil! Everybody's getting on board the Phantom. Should we head out now?

Guilliam: Are all the units loaded?

Tack: Yessir!

Guilliam: Good. Tell Heath he can begin preparations for the Hyper Jump tomorrow. We have another race soon, so we'd better move it. *Turns to Arc* Well, we'd better go aboard. Heath's liable to leave without us....he likes to keep a tight ship........but Tack was the best he could do on such short notice.

*After all passengers are aboard*

Heath: *As he draws his ship out of the Hangar, he makes his approach towards the Hyper Gate* This'll be our first time taking the Vann Sky hyper gate......without that fold patch, it's our only option.

Jace: Coordinates in. We're ready to jump.

Heath: Alright, standby. *The White Phantom passes through the gate and sets out for Vann Sky*

*The Aqua Valiance enters Avantgarde Space, and makes it's way for the Hyper Gate. The Hyper Gate would open up as entry signal was sent, accepting the entry. The Aqua Valiance then disappear into the Hyper Gate as they travel through a tunnel to Vann Sky, the gateway closing behind them.*

A small Woman was heading down one of the Simple, less crowded home streets of her neighborhood, and heard a small ringtone from her pocket...She pulled out a PDA, and checked her Recent NEws Update..
"Oh hey..." she said to herself..."It seems the Egineers are yearning to build a new ship.. I think this is a time to let my Designs come to life here! Perhaps I can finally be recognized in this simple place... " She smiled to herself, then put away her PDA and looked into the sky. She studied the clouds and typical metallic grey sky.. and then resumed her way to the nearest Ship Dealers..

Aonice quickly Reached the Ship bay 20 minutes later.. and began looking for an official to try and Buy a ship. She had been saving up for years, and her mother that had passed away left her with a large some of Credits, and what better to buy than a form of transoportation..

"Ughh..." I groaned as I sat up. I'll hold off on drinking myself to sleep next time, I thought to myself. "Van!" I shouted to my ship's artificial personality. "Make me some coffee, please."

"Yes, sir," Van replied in a metallic, female voice. An indistinct bleep told me that the drip machine had been started.

"God, Van, you don't have to call me 'sir.' I've told you that a million times already! Just go ahead and call me Garde."

"Well, yes, okay...thank you, si-- ...Garde."

I couldn't help but to laugh. Vanessa, or Van, had been one of the best personalities I'd ever had. Her technology allowed her to retain information as well as a human brain, so she was able to form opinions and have conversations with me.

I pulled on a pair of pants and a shirt, and walked out to the bridge of my ship, Serie's Wings. Serie is my girlfriend; I left her alone back on Avantgarde, and, although this was only my second day away, I'd been kicking myself for every second of it. She'd begged to come, but I told her that it would be too dangerous. Although her flying skills couldn't touch my own, her gunning skills were the most unbelievable that I'd ever seen. Maybe it wouldn't have been a bad idea to bring her with me...her gunning skills would be invaluable against whatever the higher-ups in the Avantgarde government hired me to keep sotto voce...and I'd have someone to warm the sheets at night.

I sat down in a chair and rolled across the bridge to my laptop, placed conventiently next to the coffee machine. I poured myself a cup of coffee, and opened up the fridge, conveniently placed right below the coffee machine. French vanilla...c'mon, where are you...son of a b***h! I settled for mocha instead. "Van, could you open the log for me, please?" I asked as I stirred coffee, mocha flavoring, and a teaspoon of sugar.

"Sure thing, si--"
"--Van..." I interrupted, smiling.
"Garde! Sure thing, Garde!"
"Damn right," I said. Van laughed.

Serie's Wings' log
April 13:
When you get a letter from a politician in the mail, you know that nothing good's ever going to come of it. Two days ago, I got a letter from one of the higher-ups in the Avantgarde government -- I can't remember his name, and I don't care -- about a little problem that they needed taking care of. Evidently, there's been a great amount of alien spacecraft activity going on just inside Avantgarde airspace. The government, trying to keep the people at ease after a recent alien attack, has hired me to find out what's going on. I didn't want to go; I didn't want to leave Serie, but I thought that I could use the money to buy her something really special...so I agreed to the politician's request.

Before I knew it I was saying goodbyes and boarding Serie's Wings...

"Van," I said, making a decision. "Where are we right now?"

"We're seven hundred kilometers outside of Avantgarde...thirteen degrees north of east and about one thousand feet above ground level."

"Fly back...we're getting Serie."

"As you wish, Garde."

A very shady man notices a add for blueprint for a FlagShip, he stares at it and reads it a few times and looks up into the sky, he then thinks to himself and walked off. He was about to buy a new mech but he though "If I buy it now, I'll just have to come back and buy more stuff once I want upgrades." He walked off to his hotel, and grabed a few peices of paper and started on a rough copy, a few hours later he thought. "I can't do this here. Ohh goodness look at the time!" It was half past midnight, he had been working for hours to no prevail, he got his pajamas on and went to his bed.

He awoke and went back to the drawing board. A few hours later he found a idea that he overall liked, he went to his bag and opened it up and grabed a labtop. He opened up a program and started to work. The blueprints on paper were the easy part. Now the hard part, making them perfect on the computer. Another few hours had passed and the man had finaly finished. He saved his progress and put his paper in a safe place. He then grabed his bags, and walked off into the lobby of the hotel. He payed his night charge and walked out of the hotel.

He soon went to a Shuttle Station and bought a ticket. He then flew off to Avantgarde, he then spent around ten minuits looking for a place to eat seeing he had not ate in nearley twelve hours. He then went to where the contest was being held and gave Alexander's Tech the blue prints and printed out what was on his computer. [Leowen has seen it]

Hiroy walks around while enjoying the air and the environment. He then meets an old friend.

Huh? Is that you Renilia.

Oh... It's you.

Huh? What's your problem? You cannot me still mad about what happened back then. And what are you doing here anyways?

How could you..... You...The leader of our gang, left and betrayed us.... YOU MORON!!!

I did not betray you and everyone else. I had my reasons. I wanted to be clean and not live through crime.

Yeah... You always say the same damn things. Thanks to you, all of our gangmembers was killed by our worst enemies. We could have had them if you was there.

I see.... That's why you came here. Your reasons are almost the same as mine.

Yeah that's right!! I'm here to start anew. At least I fought with my allies till the end unlike you. I expected more from the Fusion Inventist.

...........You are so full of hatred.

Hiroy then walks off ignoring her.

Urr...... You only care about yourself!! YOU HEAR ME!!!

Hiroy then takes a transport back to the colony.

In the hallway of a Top Secret Underground Work Facility a man in a high dollar black suit could be found walking around. He has a book and he seems quite pleased with himself or something that was just done. He was very pleased and he was grining from ear to ear. Everybody whom was down there, though not being to many people... were looking at him as if he was in idiot. He was whistling and he was an uncomon face around the area. He came to a door that he apparently wanted to get into. He tryed turning the knob and it wouldn't budge. He looked around and no one was paying anymore atention to him. He got a small marker that was in his pocket and he drew something on the doorknob. He looked around again, no one was looking. He bent down and put two fingers on his little drawing and he stood up and turnt the door handle, whiped off his drawing with a rag that you can tell was at one time white, but the current color was a shade of gray. He walked through the door into a huge room with Mech Parts galore and in the room there was no one around. "Good" he thought, he looked around and said in a low voice "I guess I should refill Alexanders's stock seeing I'm here" He got back out that pin.. looked at it and put it away.. He looked around and there was a paint stick.. he picked it up and drew a large circle on the ground. He put some symbols that were not normaly seen to normal people. He walked over to a waist bin that was nearby and dumped out all the deposits there on the ground. "Heh.. posers.. They can't even make the simple stuff work" He got on his knees put his hands together, cuffed, his right finger the only one entended up and said something that wasn't in english or anything like it "Makaida'Rei'Sheiden" he said and put his hands on the circle. A large light was admiting from the outside of the circle and all of the waist turned into what looked like brand new products. Shiny, and everything.. They just looked amazing. He looked at his markings he did on the ground, and he drew another one in the middle of it. He put the Paint Marker he had in the middle and all of what he had used was brought back into the marker. He stood up and walked out another door that was in across the room.
