I would like to get something out that truly irritates me and you may or may not care but I will tell this to whoever listens. The thing I want to rant about is slang. I have no problem with it, but it often irritates me when people use terms that mean something else as a slang to mean something entirely different.
The thing that pisses me off, though, is when they start using words that mean something very distinct and make the meaning synonymous with homosexuality. I'm talking, of course, about words like "queer" and "gay". I'm in no way against people being of that sort of sexuality (obviously), what I am against is people mucking up words.
For example, I have lately observed my sister using yet another phrase that is somehow synonymous with homosexuality, "on the sweet side." To use it in a sentence, to say that you believe someone to be homosexual would be to say "I think he is on the sweet side."
I think that it is just something between my sister and cousin, but that is usually how things start out and catch on. I am hoping for the best that it is nothing more than just a little odd quip, but I am also dreading the thought that someday I might refer to something as being "Sweet" and hearing someone chuckle and inform me I just referred to something or someone as being homosexual. It's quite juvenile really.

I agree but outside of that I'm not quite sure what to say.
