About Kotone
Personality
Kotone is a peaceful, serene creature. Her joys lie in dancing, singing, songs, and sounds. She has a quiet charm that tends to draw in others, her beautiful musical nature seeming to be the main reason. Her eyes are always watching what is going on around her. She keeps to herself more often than not, enjoying the peace and tranquility of nature, but she does enjoy the company of others from time to time. She tends to be quite naive and unsuspecting of others since she doesn't interact with others very often.
Biography
Kotone was once a beautiful marionette set up in the corner of a lovely, old antique store. Her strings had been long time gone, but she was still something wonderful to look at and her joints still worked.. that brought many a young girl joy when they got to play with her when they were in the shop with their mothers. It was a place of beauty that was ageless and hope to those knickknacks that had been sitting around for so long to be something wanted and loved once more.
After one very harsh winter the old lady who had owned it for many years had gotten very sick, then passed away, leaving a sense of loneliness over it and all the poor antiques that were left to gather dust. No more music played. No more soft singing of the old lady was left to be heard. Even the old music boxes were hushed now that they had noone to play for anyone any more.
One day, out of the blue, there was something that jarred the entire store, all sorts of bobbles and such were shook off their shelves and tables. All the dust that had gathered over the years was shook loose and sent flying into the air, clouding the atmosphere of the shop. An old music box, that had been a favorite of the old lady's to leave open to play, had come crashing down to the floor off the countertop that had been it's home for many years. As the dust settled the lid of the music box had cracked open and soft notes began to float through the air. It was a sound that had not been heard in many a year. The trinkets began to feel the sense of hope they had once felt when in the care of the old lady, the feeling that they were more than something old to sit around and just collect dust.
This music moved the horse marionette so much that she began to move on her own, like the spirit of the old lady was compelling her to through the music. Her joints creaked as she started, but as she moved more and more they started to make less noise and she was able to move more fluently. As the song came to an end the marionette did not wish to stop moving and in these powerful feelings she found the willpower to keep moving. Gently she picked up the music box in her mouth and stepped through the broken shopfront window, wandering out to find the life that many of the antique shop trinkets had always wanted.
Over the years she has been changing. She seems to be slowly changing from being doll-like to being more realistic everyday she listens to the music box. The change is something that cannot be explained, but it keeps giving her hope that she will be more to others than a broken marionette in the same way she was to the old lady. Through the music box she has begun to fund her voice.
