"Some of the mages around here, they're a bunch of gossiping old hens." He gestured at a passing robed woman as they walked. "Still, I've been around long enough for them to natter on about... at any rate," he turned his attention to Tanna, and frowned a little; his red eyes lost a bit of their exuberant sheen. He shouldn't have dragged her into this, he realized, and assumed to readily she'd be willing to go. It was the sewers, for Azura's sake (not that Velryn really cared much for Azura's welfare, but it was a common epithet he had grown up with).
Still, was there a way to talk to her about it without making things awkward in front of Coraline? He thought about it as they continued across the stone span between the University and the main city districts. He answered with a slightly vague tone, still considering the situation with the violet-eyed Bosmer. Thinking about her eyes further distracted him, but against his dusky skin no blush appeared. Now was not the time for that sort of reflection. "We'll be seeing an Imperial Guardsman, I think. They'll let us in through the Prison, there is a sewer access there." He made the decision to offer Tanna a way out now that he had answered her.
"Tanna, if you want, you can head on back," he ventured, picking his words carefully. "I didn't really give you much time to prepare. It's just goblins and mudcrabs, and there're likely others going." He tilted his head slightly, and a forelock of his hair fell loose from the tie at the nape of his neck, coming to frame one side of his face. He added, quickly, "But if you're sure, then, no problem, we can hustle it over and get this going. Sooner started, sooner ended."

Valryn did say, before he left to retrieve his gear, their names quite clearly to her. ''Yeah you're right...'' she said a she skipped another pace to keep up, ''He did say your names before he left. Must have forgotten that.'' But Coraline didn't take it as rude when Tanna said it. More as informative to pay more attention to what people say. Yet what she said next did kind of rub her wrong. Sure Tanna was older then Coraline and has done plenty more missions and quests then herself. ''Well that's no reason to be bitter though. You could be cooped up in the University with those ''old hens'' and ratty old moldy tomes for company.''
Coraline enjoyed the University and the ratty old moldy tomes as well, don't be mistaken, but she does like to get out once and a while. But being restricted to the grounds mostly because of her age for studies she hardly has time to leave really at all. ''l'm sure the smell of the sewers isn't that bad!'' her voice was optimistic and naive. She has never been in them before. It was all new ground to her. Being able to go into unexplored territory and get paid to do so. It was a win win. If she wasn't killed. But if it was that dangerous then she wouldn't have been allowed to go. ''l hope...'' she mumbled in regards to the scent of their destination.
''So mages are like old hens...'' thought Coraline as she walked beside the two other mages. Thinking of what exactly that expression meant. Surely magically gifted people weren't like poultry in the sense of food. But she heard her mother use that expression once before and Valryn's ''Gossip'' clue gave her more then enough information then she needed to know what a mage was like when they exceed their limits of knowledge and start to become senile. They talk a lot to one other. Tell stories of past adventures to make themselves still feel part of the community. Makes sense. But there are stories of elder mages with vast power, why not contribute more then just talk. Teaching is even a better use of their time then just rotting.
''Goblins!'' she thought excitedly. She was now not even sure herself what she was more excited about. Seeing a goblin, going to the sewers, being able to leave the University and be with her fellow mages or a reward. There was also the chance to prove her worth to her companions that she wasn't totally incompetent. Hopefully if this went smoothly the pressure to keep her locked up would ease down so she could freely leave the city, or, at least take up more quests.
She even has a little storage set up in her dorm specifically for ''Trophies''. Their just more of reminders and personal items she will acquire over this and more upcoming quests. Like perhaps a Mudcrab shell. Like the biggest one there is down there. Or if there is a Shaman, his Staff, if the group would be alright with that, of course. Or maybe one of their ram skull helmets. That would make an interesting decoration for her mantle. Her studies have taught her that the Totems are kept in their caves. ''So if there are goblins, which tribe do you think it will be? l've read up on the eight known Goblin Tribes of Tamriel.'' she said recalling their names. ''Are there rats in the sewers?'' she knew at this point she was likely talking to herself at this point, but felt the need to keep talking to refrain from swallowing herself in and just shutting up the entire adventure. To get noticed is how she breaks out of her shell. ''How many others do you think will be going?'' This was a more genuine question though. She wasn't worried about the reward, just the experience. The more the less she would be seen as being able to handle herself, but would be safer. Coraline isn't too sure which she likes best. Being safe or being qualified.

Tanna cocked her head to one side, ”is my mood dampening your spirits Velryn?” She appeared remorseful, in reality she was slightly irritated by this turn of events, did the Dunmer want her help or not. Then she realised he was being chivalrous and resisted the urge to roll her eyes at him, ”we made a deal though, and it’s not the Goblins and Mudcrabs which sounds revolting, it’s the smell and the… well you know, it’s a sewer. I’d be quite happy to bathe in a horse trough after this.” She added the last part with a light hearted laugh, ”I don’t think the horse would like that though,” she chuckled again, ”besides, I’ve handled worse than Goblins and Mudcrabs before, I’ll have you know.” She didn’t specify what, but it was true, and she didn’t have to fake the truthful edge to her tone, though she had to wonder if he would believe her. ”Although, I do like spending time with those musty old tomes,” she joked, remembering what Coraline had said and it was true Tanna did like reading the older collection of books in the library. She glanced at his face and then grinned, ”I’m joking, this might actually give me a reason to try out some of the new spells I learnt recently.”
Any further discussion, for now, was interrupted by Coraline, who seemed to be rather enthused with the idea of Goblins. Then again she was young, so Tanna just assumed it was the easily excitable nature of youngsters that drove her motor mouth. ”I guess we’ll find out the answer to all those questions when we get there. Although now you mention it I have also read that book, on the Goblin Tribes.” She paused to try and remember the names of all eight tribes, but didn’t share them, ”I don’t remember reading about a tribe that lived among Mudcrabs though.”

((A fighter, who dislikes mages and outright hates Elves, working with four Elven Mages. This should be interesting.))
Balamaethor "Bale" Calminaion Ranger- Apprentice of the Fighter's Guild Imperial City- Imperial City Prison, City Watch Barracks

Bale walked through the gate that lead into the Imperial Prison- the last place in the city he wanted to be. Imperial Watch guards were mulling around all over the place, some off-duty, others preparing to go on. Two guards were dragging a drunken Dunmer into the tower that served as the prison. Bale smirked a little- he loved watching Dark Elves get what they deserved.
As he turned to walk towards the barracks, a guard almost walked into him. Bale recognized him- he had been arrested by him two weeks ago for public intoxication. He still had the black eye Bale had given him.
"I remember you," the Imperial said, scowling at Bale. "Back so soon for a trip to the dungeon, are we? You must love the drunk tank down there. A perfect place for brainless Nords like yourself."
"Not as brainless as the fool who picks a fight with a drunken, pissed off Nord," Bale replied, looking down on the man. The guard was unusually short for an Imperial- Bale stood a head taller than him. "And I'm here for the quest. I feel sorry for the people of the City if their own guards can't handle a simple Mud Crab problem. What would happen if a real threat were to arrive? Say, a Nordic horde from the north?"
The guard said nothing and pushed past Bale. A satisfied smirk crossed his face as he crossed over to the Barracks.

XD And Velryn's only part-mage! Not that I think that'll count for much with mister grumpy nord. ♥ I apologise if this is short, I am tired/out of sorts but I don't want to hold everyone up.)
Velryn still looked troubled, despite Tanna's assurances. He believed what she said about goblins and mudcrabs, and could see her point on being hesitant due to the sewer environment, but he still felt a twinge of guilt. Nonetheless, she'd argued her case in response, and he wasn't going to press the matter further. He had, at the least, offered her a route out: it was up to the Bosmer to take it or leave it. "If you're sure, Tanna," he said, doing his poor best to disguise the remaining uncertainty in his tone. He contemplated her comment about bathing to get clean after the venture was complete, and resolved to further pay Tanna back by attempting to make her a perfumed unguent. Maybe Coraline would appreciate some, too, he thought, with a sidelong glance at the petit form walking beside him.
Although Tanna had answered the Altmer in a way Velryn thought satisfactory, he didn't mind continuing the discussion as they strode along through the Arena District. "I think there's about a half-dozen of us, or so. More than enough to deal with rats. We might not see any, but vermin is common in the sewers. You know, I never studied the goblin tribes much, even though I've fought them plenty of times. I should borrow that book." He recalled, briefly, that his wife had once tried to get him to be more scholarly, and read somewhat not to do with alchemy, herbs and gardening; it had been to no avail. Now, he'd wished he had taken Tadsea's advice.
Fairly soon, the trio arrived at the Prison. It wasn't a structure Velryn had ever been to before. He studied it with an air of wariness as they crossed the span of stone connecting the Prison Isle to the main segment of land the Imperial City rose from. Let's get this over with, he thought, stepping past the guards on duty at the entrance and following their directions deeper into the Prison, where they would find the man officially in charge of the sewer-task.

Like a child whose parents were arguing in the other room or in front of her and a friend. She tried to drone out most of what they were saying about how it seemed Tanna was disinterested with the whole mission altogether. Her hearing turned to selective and was now droning out anything that wasn't about goblins, rats, books, food or just small talk in general. A small hum was protruding from her seal lips as her smaller legs carried her at the same pace as them. Even as Tanna started to cheer up and even crack jokes, Coraline decided to stay out of it. Upsetting either one of the two was not on her agenda.
But when the ''musty old tomes'' were brought back into the fray, Coraline automatically was livid again to talk with them. Though with Tanna speaking of new spells, it disheartened the little elf. She really hadn't much experience with actual combat. She knew a few simple spells and was starting to feel like joining up was a bad idea too. Maybe that she had gotten in over her head.
Tanna spoke again but of the goblin tribes. ''l can't think of any that fill that criteria either...'' She answered honestly as she was thinking of their names in alphabetical order: Bitterfish, Bloody Hand, Dust Eater, Rock Biter, Sharp Tooth, Skull Breaker, Three Feather and White Skin. She was forced to recall all of them by tribe names once in an exam she recently had to do. Even if she could recall all of their names none of them really had any significant dealings with mudcrabs aside from killing them for food. She was dumbfounded as she was listening to Velryn speak. Surely there were rats in the sewer and he backed up that initial accusation. ''lt might not even be a tribe. Could just be a bad string of events.'' She was trying to think rationally about this. Goblins haven't been known to shepherd beasts. Usually they just act aggressively. Raiding and pillaging were their usual motives for food. Targeting small farms and towns for their sources or just killing what comes by. ''The more the merrier!'' she said in reply to the party she would be traveling with.
It was Coraline's first time at the Prison. It seemed different then what she had imagined, and, was glad she wasn't being escorted by the Imperial Guard and was instead coming to this place on her own free will. She once heard a story that they held a minotaur to kill their excess criminals. Though she was told by her parents to frighten her, the idea stuck with her and still scares her. ''So where is this guard we speak to?'' She was getting antsy. Ready to start this whole ordeal. But dreading the stench that is to come. If bathing in a trough was better then the smell of the sewer, Coraline wasn't looking forward to the odor.

Active : None.
Velryn’s nobility at that point started to get on Tanna’s nerves, it couldn’t be that she wasn’t being clear, he was just being stupid. She had refrained from answering him while he talked to Coraline, but she could still see that he had his doubts. ”Am I not being clear enough for you?” She turned her eyes to the cobbled street to hide the venomous glare that was fighting to show itself, but she could barely keep the icy inflection out of her voice. An outsider might have to ask why a trait that was generally considered noble was inciting the angry side to Tanna, when it was the bad and evil traits that disgusted her the most. However, Tanna, or rather Marilien was used to making her own decisions without having to explain herself or pass the scrutiny of others. She was going because it benefitted her in the end, that didn’t mean she had to enjoy the task… The Assassin took a deep breath, allowing herself to calm and her alternate identity to take over again, ”come on Velryn, stop worrying. Who knows, it might be fun, Coraline seems to think so,” she said in Tanna’s usual light-hearted tone, to which she added a broad smile, assuming it would help him to forget about the way she answered him before. This use of her speech craft talent nearly always worked, some people even convinced themselves that they had imagined the glares and, or murderous under current to her voice.
She then decided it was probably best to get the conversation back on track, just to further disguise her personality slip up. ”You know Velryn, I think that book is in the University Library. In fact there are loads of great books in there, but I guess you wouldn’t know, since you don’t ever read anything.” Her tone was joking but the context was a bit rude. To Marilien, who enjoyed a thirst for knowledge, and also because in Morrowind books were about the only things they could indulge in during their free time as slaves, the idea that someone didn’t read at all seemed quite stupid. She’d learned a great deal from reading, for example in Fort Vlaturas, if she had never collected and read books on the breeds of Vampire, their strengths and weaknesses she could never have known what to expect. That knowledge had probably saved her life, or at least helped her to avoid crippling injury. ”You never know when the information might come in handy,” she added, as if musing to herself.
Tanna’s eyes suddenly darted up and locked onto one of the Imperial Guard harassing a Nord, or maybe it was the other way around, but judging from the way the Imperial gave the Nord a cold shoulder she guessed she got it right the first time. The Nord then disappeared into the Barracks, the same place they were heading, ”I guess he is applying for this quest too, I hope he isn’t going to cause trouble, the guard won’t like that… Or at least I hope we don’t get dragged into it if he does, I don’t really want to spend a night in a cell.” Tanna mused as she cocked her head to one side, and slowed up so she could follow Velryn through the door, rather than them attempting to pass through side by side. ’He better not get us thrown in jail…’ she added in her thoughts.
((ooc: Sorry it took me a long time to add this. I think we should move onto the sewers soon. This walking and chatting has gotten a bit old now. Also are we going to have to assume that Zelindor and Tar'kiis are out of the quest?))

He was confused by her first comment, since he had dropped the subject and accepted that she would be accompanying him, and he thought they were moving past the bit of difficulty to concentrate on job at hand. To have her be so unnecessarily waspish shifted his mood more towards somewhat negative. And was that a glare? "Crystal clear," he muttered at her, and was not intending to say much else until her second, and unwarranted, rude remark.
He did not want to put Coraline in a discomfited position, but nonetheless he was not going to let Tanna run roughshod over him. Beneath his good-natured surface, Velryn had a passionate temper, although the angrier he got the colder and quieter he tended to be. The joking tone Tanna used did nothing to dissuade him from responding.
"And you would know everything about me, including how much I read, but oh wait," he paused, husky Dunmer voice dripping with sarcasm, "you never actually spend any time with anyone in the University, so what would you know concerning anything about anyone, myself included?" It was a dig at her awkward social characteristics, which was not entirely true but at that moment he didn't care.
It was not true what she had said: Velryn actually read a great deal, just not about much material outside of certain interests. He was a frequent Library-goer, but since Tanna spent little time with him, she wouldn't know that. He glanced at Tanna, once, and didn't try to conceal the contempt in his expression. He didn't offer any further words to her, but spoke instead to Coraline.
"I'm going on ahead to see if the sewers are open and ready." The sorcerer's legs were a fair bit longer than either of his companions, and as they were walking he could outdistance them if he picked up his pace a little. He pulled forward and marched down the corridors without pause, regardless of what was said or called after him. After a short duration, the Dunmer finally reached the starting point for the task. A guard captain in more elaborate armour than normally seen was standing by the sewer entrance, and he looked impatient.
"One," the guard captain muttered. "Where's the rest of you?" he asked.
"Coming, I am sure." Velryn answered briskly, and honestly.
(If anyone, namely Bale, already wanted to be waiting by the entrance let me know and I'll edit. It does look like Zel and Tar'kiis will be sitting this one out unless they post their characters joining the rest before they go into the sewers.)

The Nord suddenly became the least of Tanna’s problems, as soon as Velryn spoke up. It was probably true that she was stereotyping him as a nice guy, with sickly sweet traits that frankly irritated her, but not as much as his words antagonised her now. Still, some part of her was impressed at his forwardness, even if his poorly formulated insult sounded like something put together by a child. She couldn’t deny her social awkwardness, it was part of Tanna’s disguise, but he was certainly blowing it out of proportion, just to add more weight to his insult. For this reason she calmed in the space of seconds, finding his sudden burst of temper considerably more amusing than anything else. What made it more entertaining to her was that her joke had been just that, at joke at him yes, but not actually an insult. It was interesting to see him break the stereotype she had placed on him, she even had to wonder if he would react the same knowing who she really is. Then again, if he knew that much, they certainly wouldn’t be having this argument, she wasn’t keen on conversations with the dead.
However, amusement aside, the fact her responses were restricted while she played the role of Tanna did cause some of her irritation to return, but only because she had to respond like a weakling. Tanna had lowered her gaze to appear sheepish when he started speaking, but now she raised her head to look at him and the contempt in his expression. The Bosmer also tried her best to keep the rebellious glint out of her eyes, and retain the remorseful façade, while adding in a look of pure hurt. Life in Morrowind has only helped to improve her acting skills, Dunmer were probably the best of all the sentient races when it came to deception. When he left, she didn’t call after him, ’why bother,’ she decided through her thoughts. ”I guess he can’t take a joke…” she said this to no one in particular, wondering now how best to get her own back. Though she had backed down, because it was in Tanna’s nature to, it was no way in Marilien’s nature to let go of something. ”Perhaps I should just go back,” she thought aloud, looking at Coraline. Velryn was right in saying she didn’t know him that well, so she wondered if her absence would make him remorseful or glad. She hoped for the former.
Just as she was about to turn and head back, another guard showed up, planting himself right in front of Tanna. She blinked and then frowned slightly at him, ”are you here for the quest?” He must have seen the recognition on her face, and it seemed to be enough that she knew about the quest, because he started ushering and talking at the same time, before letting either of them respond. ”Come on the sewer entrance is this way; we’ve been waiting all morning for enough people to show up.” Tanna contained a sigh, and didn’t try to interrupt the guard as he led them to where Velryn was waiting. Once there, she refused to look at the Dunmer. In fact she turned her back on him and focused on something insignificant in her line of sight, while flexing her fingers, forcing the joints to crack. Finally she reached into her pocket and pulled out the tiny ring of Night-Eye she used for occasions like this, but she wouldn’t put it on until they were ready to descend the ladder into the sewers.
((ooc: I loved Velryn's response XD I think mine was a bit s**t but she is limited in what she can do. Since I don't want her to consider shanking him, she's just found his tantrum, (what she is calling it), quite funny. Though she would have prefered to respond as Marilien, she has backed down and responded as Tanna would.))

They were still fussing over each other about whether or not Tanna should accompany them. lt wasn't like either of the duo were saying it was a bad idea for her to not join them, but, both of them were expressing if she didn't want to come then she shouldn't. All Coraline could really do was hope this storm would breeze over them and things would be uplifting again. Yet as soon as Tanna revealed Coraline's presence was still in existence, she perked up to quickly recall what had been said. ''lt will be fun!'' she announced with a sense of glee. Though it was the last thing she said unless addressed directly.
Coraline couldn't help or even suppress her snigger. Once the tension between her fellow two mages the atmosphere between them all seemed to all but dull down with ease. Talking freely and joking even more easily seemed to come naturally between the two friends. She still didn't speak to either of them, not out of spite, but being as anxious and bored of this journey as she was, she didn't want to speak in hopes that it would quicken the trip to their destination.
Her feet pattered against the cobble streets carrying her in the same pace as the other two traveled, even though she had to work a little bit harder to keep up with them. That was another troublesome thing about being young: the size. It could could come in handy when having to get around large adversaries or through those tight spaces, as well as hiding in smaller areas. Yet she found it annoying while traveling with these two. She could tell they were going a little slower so she could keep up but it was still a nuisance.
Velryn made it a point that he spoke to Coraline instead of Tanna. She couldn't help but get the feeling that the animosity hadn't quite left the two yet and as well as it was some how her fault. Like by going to meet up with Velryn in the Alchemy Station. Her face stayed calm and collective as the Dunmer went ahead of the girls. ''Why do you think he went ahead?'' Coraline already knew the answer: that he wanted to be parted of Tanna even for a second or two. But before Tanna could answer her, an lmperial Guard approached them, Coraline unaware of Tanna's intentions to ditch the whole quest entirely.
''Yeah!'' Her voice was enthused again. Life re-sprouted in her like a blooming rose. A small ray of euphoria spilled over her and would have been drooling out of her mouth if it had an actual substance to do so. ''We're here because of your pest problems!''
At first the guard was hesitant on the petite figure following the Bosmer. Unsure as if to actually let her tag along. Though given he has heard about the amount of mages accompanying and decided that even if she died she signed up for this. ''Hey, should we get Velryn or will he just meet us down here?''

Balamaethor "Bale" Calminaion Ranger- Apprentice of the Fighter's Guild Imperial City- Prison, Guard Barracks
Health: Perfect Magicka: Perfect Fatigue: Perfect Status Effects: None
Bale suppressed a scowl of displeasure as two Elves, a Bosmer and an Altmer, walked in requesting information about the quest. He turned the the guard who was giving them the assignment. "I'm heading over to the sewer entrance. I need to take care of something in the Market District before I go anyways." With that, he turned and left the Barracks.
Five minutes later, he was in the Market District, crossing over to A Fighting Chance. There was something special there, something he finally had enough to purchase. He approached the shopkeeper, and pointed to the object of his desire- a large Dwemer claymore, thousands of years old, yet still sharp and gleaming in the light. The Redguard behind the counter nodded, pulling the blade down off the display as Bale placed the Septims on the table. He also drew his old steel claymore and placed it next to the gold coins. The shopkeeper counted out a small amount of money from the pile and handed it back to him, before handing him the sword. It was heavy, but nothing he couldn't handle. He slid it into the scabbard of his old blade- it fit perfectly.
With that, he walked out, moving to the small alley where the sewer entrance was. A City Guard was waiting there already- as was a Dunmer. His hand instinctively balled into a fist, which he forced back open. He simply crossed over to the duo and leaned against a wall, standing as far from the Dark Elf as possible.
((Alright, I'm going to be out of town for a few days to visit my friend's grandparents. I don't know if they have WiFi there or not, and their Internet is pretty slow, so don't count on me being online until at least Thursday or Friday.))

The exclamation burst from the gilt-armoured captain. He glared equally at the Dunmer, Nord, Altmer and Bosmer as each arrived. The man seemed to have somewhat to say, then thought the better of it. "Good enough for me. Now that you're all here, or most of you are, you can get started. Have a nice time," the captain said with a stoic expression as he removed a key from a ring on his belt, and swiftly unlocked the manhole entrance into the sewers. He stepped back, and motioned for them to go.
Velryn flicked a glance at the Nord, but the man seemed apathetic, preoccupied, subdued... it didn't matter. He was armed with a large sword, which the alchemist thought of as a good thing: he didn't much savour the thought of being the only front liner. As he wanted to get the job done and over with, messy and discomfiting as it would be, he stepped forward and headed for the entry first, stepping from dry stone to the rusted rungs of a ladder. The climb down was brief, and the Dunmer moved away to give room for the next descender. Immediately the rather unwelcome stench hit him, and in response Velryn with drew a length of cloth from his belt and tied it across the lower half of his face. It made breathing a little easier, muting the terrible odours.
"Alright, I'll take point," he offered, and quickly began to move deeper into the stone-lined tunnel to keep making room for the rest. He balanced easily on the walkway that lined one side of a deep trench where some none-too-clean water gushed and sputtered. He tried not to pay attention to what was in it. "Did anyone bring torches, or have a light spell?" he questioned, and he heard the voice of the guard captain again.
"There'll be a barrel not too far ahead, there are torches in there. Help yourselves." The man was replacing the grate now that the group had descended, and the dim light coming from above disappeared as metal grated on stone, and the four were sealed in.
Well, there's the problem of wandering about in the dark solved, Velryn thought, and he moved off to go and get himself a torch. He groped in the darkness for a moment before he bumped into somewhat, and his hands uncovered the wooden barrel, a bit slimey, with the torches inside. He lit the longest one he could find with a spark of fire conjured from his fingertips, and the oil-soaked cloth bound to the end of a sturdy wooden baton ignited. The flames threw a warm light around the tunnel and allowed the group to clearly see the greenish stone and dirty water they were surrounded by. "Eugh." With care, he drew his longsword from its backsteath. The mudcrabs could be anywhere, and he didn't want to waste time drawing his blade when he could be swatting and slicing the creatures aside.
(Thanks for letting us know, Requiem. Have a nice time at your grandparents, see you Thurs/Friday! In the meantime, we'll try to move forward and get the characters in position for combat with mudcrabs and goblins. : D)

The feeling that uplifted someone, a purpose. And tagging along with the group she had just met made her feel that she was right where she belonged. For sometime now her heart had an unwavering feeling of homesick for a place it had not yet been. It's insatiable lust for something she had not yet figured out gave her a deafening defeating feeling that she'd never feel at her own place. The place where she could feel welcomed, and, even though this guard gave her just a glance and told the group to follow him to their destination, she felt welcomed. This is where her heart was leading her. Not to the sewers but to a place of a higher calling then just sitting in the academy reading books all night and day about old wars and the dead dragons, but, somewhere she could help people with her inherited talents. She used to plan out her life when she got older. Like how she would figure herself escaping this cell she volunteered herself to be in. But like a day dream, it was only meant to get her by.
But that didn't have to be it anymore. That emotional feeling had subsided when she saw the entrance to the sewer lifted. Seeing Velryn, Tanna and this Nord start to climb down into it, she followed suit. Feeling herself grow even more anxious about what to expect when she got down there. Sure she had a basic idea of what was down there. Small walk ways with a small man-made river flowing parallel to it, mudcrabs, goblins and rats. But not how it was going to pan out. It was her first real deadly mission. She could actually get hurt or even killed. She started to doubt herself slightly with her lack of experience. The other three seemed to not even to really mind that they were crawling down into some dark and dank bunker.
Some how she got the distinct feeling the guard could read her mind. The look he gave her was of not anger for holding him up but concern. Ignoring it, she slid down the tunnel and smile up at him as she started to climb down, trying to give a feeling of hotcha. As soon as she was starting to make her way down, she saw all the light receding from the entrance disappear. She let out a light shrill as her foot slipped on the ladder before catching herself, frightened slightly at the darkness. It was only a matter of time before eyes would adjust to the darkness, letting her see basic shapes and really nothing more then that. But as soon as Velryn asked about a light spell, Coraline spoke up. ''l know one.'' She was trying to memorize how it with a mental incantation. But before she could place her imaginary finger on it, Velryn and found a barrel of torches the guard had pointed out and ignited it.
Shame too because she knew a very effect one that wasn't draining of her magicka either. Though it wasn't a very long duration, she still felt it would be useful just in case the torches gave out. She wasn't the best at illusion, but, she did know a few good spells for a couple different occasions. Light being one of them. Slipping next to Velryn, whom she felt most comfortable with, she gazed around the sewage trying to see any movement around the torch light. Peering around to see any crab legs in the shadows or hear them clamber around on the stone flooring. She didn't notice the smell or mind it too much. She had smelled worse in the past, and, the smell of decayed flesh didn't bother her so this was almost a walk in the park. Though she could tell getting the scent out of the threads of her clothes would be more of a pain. And her hair would probably need to be soaked for about a week straight.
Velryn was taking point and Coraline stood by his side, making sure to follow cautiously. She wasn't really sure what might just leap out at her at any moments notice. A few trickles of water sounded the way of which direction the water was flowing to leave the city. A rat screeched here and there and she could see their eyes glint from the incendiary that Venlryn was carrying before scurrying off away from them. Slipping into their tunnels or hiding places, she hadn't seen a large one that she had heard rumors about.

Health : Perfect ┃ Magicka : Charged ┃ Fatigue : Rested ┃ Mood : Ready ┃ Location : Imperial City – Market Sewers. Active : Night-eye (Ring: Removed) & Defend (Apprentice Level: 15% shield for 30 seconds on self)
Tanna approached the black hole after Velryn and then the Nord had disappeared down it. She gave it a cautious look and then leaned over it slightly, as if looking to see if she could see what was at the bottom. In reality, she was sensibly checking to see if the ladder was clear, but no one would assume Tanna to think so far ahead. Seeing as she couldn’t see anyone on the portion of the ladder she could make out, she assumed it was clear, didn’t matter, she would find out soon enough. The Bosmer stepped down onto the first rung of the ladder, and brought her other foot to join it, then began to descend, so far so good. Marilien decided against acting out a clumsy moment, just in case someone was at the bottom, or something disgusting, she wasn’t THAT committed to her act that she’d risk falling in something disgusting. When she got about half way down and the light from the entrance began to recede, she paused briefly to slip the ring onto her finger, instantly turning everything a blue/green hue. She could see the ladder, and the other two at the bottom very easily now, and it was so problem to quickly finish the rest of the ladder. When she reached the bottom, she looked up, seeing the mage child struggle a little with the ladder in the dark. ”Come on Coraline, it’s not much further now,” she called back up to the youngster, then cleared the space below the ladder.
Tanna decided to take a look around, not that there was much to see, but she needed to get her bearings and avoid standing in something disgusting. If she was honest, the smell was nowhere near as bad as she had anticipated, that didn’t mean it was a rose garden either, but she could cope, well hopefully, this was just an access tunnel, it could get much worse. Thinking of that possibility made her long for the folded material she used to cover her face when she dressed as Marilien. Suddenly her vision turned white, and it stung, ”argh,” she hands flew up to protect her eyes from the blinding sting, and she slipped off the night-eye ring. ”Ouch… a warning would have been nice,” she grumbled, still giving the corners of her eyes a little rub, to expel the extra moisture that had collected on her lower lids. Seeing as it was Velryn she turned away and stopped with the massaging, ’jerk,’ she thought bitterly, thinking he must have done it on purpose.
Ignoring the Dunmer, since she wasn’t expecting an apology or anything, in fact she expected the opposite and didn’t need him sparking her temper again. She focused, instead on her preparations, raising one hand, it shone with a little blue/white light, which then seemed to travel over her body as the shield came into place. And that was it, she also had a dagger, but she kept that in its sheath. That was only really used in emergencies, as Tanna she fought mostly as a mage.

Balamaethor "Bale" Calminaion Ranger- Apprentice of the Fighter's Guild Imperial City- Market District Sewers
Health: Perfect Magicka: Perfect Fatigue: Perfect Status Effects: None
The prospect of working with three Elves, one of them a Dunmer no less, did not sit well with Bale. The fact that all were Mages didn't help, either- it made him feel out of place being the only one with a heavy weapon. Still, the prospect of being paid would ensure he stuck through it.
"Perhaps I'd better take point, seeing as I'm the only one with no Magic and a giant sword." He drew his blade as he said this, moving towards the front of the small group. The Dwarven Claymore gave off a strange yellow gleam when the light hit it. Holding it in one hand (no small feat considering it's size and weight), he pulled a torch from the barrel and lit it.
((I know, it's pathetically short, but I can't really think of much to type out.))
