"Yes~" Taryn nodded, looking down at the dresses in her arms and turning away from the racks. This could have been a lot more painful without someone there to help her, she knew. In all likelihood she would have given up and grumped home to bake. She hoped too that she had made decent suggestions herself and wasn't letting Tset down, that the demon wasn't just trying things on to humor her and would later giggle about how ridiculous she'd been.

...oh, that was silly, this ghoul seemed nice.

The chimera abandoned her clothes to try on the first dress, the purple one with the sleeves. It didn't take her more than a moment to decide that she didn't like it.The sleeves were too much, and her shoulders looked big and blocky revealed above them. Maybe sleeves weren't such a good idea. "Oh, no, this is bad," she vocalized before stripping out of that dress to try on the ball gown. There wasn't even a use in going out the first, but this one... this one she liked. The blue didn't clash like she had expected, and although there were no sleeves she was more comfortable. Now Taryn stepped out of the booth to look at herself in the mirrors. Hm. Not bad! She wasn't crazy about the lace and its placement, though. She waited for Tset to exit her changing booth before addressing her again, her head turned slightly over her shoulder, but her eyes on the mirrors. "This one's okay."

"The purple one?" Tsetsiliya queried. She had been a bit doubtful on it, but figured it had been worth a try anyway. When she heard the curtain rustle again, she too stepped out into the common area. The blue was very nice on the ghoul and the cut was flattering, but Taryn didn't seem to feel entirely enthusiastic on it. "Hmm.. perhaps something in a similar color and cut.. but it is seeming we are finding a leading link, so to say!" It was a step in the right direction, and definitely gave her a clue on what to look for.

She gave herself a quick once over in the larger mirrors as well, and did a small twirl to get the full view. "I am liking this one.. quite a bit, I am thinking." Her face broke into a bright smile. "You are having a good eye for this!" But in all honestly, it really had helped - having someone there to give positive feedback. Most of the comments that came out of her mother's mouth when it came to fashion were towards the negative end of the spectrum. This was nice.

Because Taryn had helped her find her dress, she certainly didn't want to let the ghoul down!

"Hmm.." Tsetsiliya didn't even bother changing just yet, wanting to get a good feel for how the dress does with movement. She headed back towards the racks, this time with a color and cut in mind. Something long, in blueish tones, and a straight cut for the bust. It certainly made the browsing easier with the key elements down. "Ah.. !" Passing a few dark blue dresses (that disappointingly were of a shorter cut than she thought), she found one that settled comfortably in the green-blue realm. It had somewhat of a similar cut to the mermaid-style dress she had tried on earlier, but did not bunch up as tightly around the thighs. The straps holding the dress to the hanger were not too thin, either.. yes, this was lovely.

"Here, perhaps try this one?" She held it up to show Taryn before offering it to the ghoul.

Taryn smiled broadly, even as she continued to look at herself in the mirror. So she'd done well, then? Good! Finally her attention turned back to Tset, and she followed the ghoul back out into the store. Was a decent dress not good enough? Apparently not, she supposed, as she shuffled back out after her shopping companion, still dressed in her ball gown. The dress that Tset offered out... honestly? Not to her taste. Look at all of the folds and the shape of the bodice.. but Tset had done well so far. Why let her down now? The chimera nodded and took the dress, starting to shuffle backward toward the changing rooms.

Once inside, Taryn went about carefully removing the dress she was wearing before tugging up the one she had just been offered. This... this actually fit! Even Abigail curled back up again to get a good look. The fabric was pleasant, and Taryn rather liked the little embellishment around the bust. She could wear her pearls, maybe stick a flower in her hair...

Excited, she rushed from the changing room and into the store proper, doing a little spin and striking a pose before blushing and laughing at herself. This was the one, she was sure.

"If I just cut a little hole for my tail...!"

"Oh.. !" Tsetsiliya's smile mirrored the size of Taryn's as the ghoul stepped out in the dress that she had just offered. It was very flattering on her, certainly - fitting her form nicely without being too constraining. Not to mention seeing the ghoul, who seemed to be as timid as she was when it came to meeting new people, looking so happy. "It is very much nice!" Aqua had been a great direction to go in, and it was thanks to Taryn's choice for the poludnica's dress that led her down that path. Tsetsiliya fingered the material of her own dress, and while the nervousness of the upcoming prom was still upon her, she felt a little more.. fortified, so to speak.

"So I am thinking we are making our decision, then?" She flashed her smile at Taryn as she approached the mirrors again, heading back into the dressing room. "I am very much happy with this one. Thank you for picking it out!" It felt so much better going into the shopping arena with a friend; perhaps that was why she felt more excited than nervous about the dance, now. As she shut the curtain and slipped out of the dress, her mind was already going through the motions: what shoes to wear, how to do her hair.. there were so many options!

Clothed again, she re-emerged into the store, dress back on the hanger and looped over her arm. A glance into the mirror showed her the same bundled-up ghoul she always was, and she frowned a little. Maybe.. a change of wardrobe might be a nice change of pace.

"A-are you being ready? I am being all set when you are!" The poludnica thought it only polite to go to the register with her friend, even if they hadn't come on this adventure together.

Hearing someone tell her that she looked nice, even in broken speech, was very, very pleasant. Taryn grinned bigger and giggled, nodding and following Tset past the mirrors and back into the dressing room. They had both made their choice, and now they were both ready for prom and she'd made a new ghoul-friend. Maybe Amityville wouldn't be so scary after all!

"I think so!" the chimera peeped between the booths, rushing into hers and carefully slipping out of her dress. She had never worn one so fancy, and it had to last her until the dance! Her old clothes felt cheap and confining now against the space the gown had occupied. "I'm glad we both found a dress! I didn't have much hope coming into this, really... I hope we have some classes together!" Both ghouls had gone from entirely humble to stunning and back again in the span of a few seconds. Such was the nature of prom. Taryn emerged from the changing booth with her gown draped over her arm. Now she just hoped to not make a fool of herself and be able to afford the dress. As they passed the racks, she took another glance.

Oh, thank Jack.

She walked with Tset to the register and took up a spot behind her, feeling a little bit of her old social awkwardness creeping back.

"I am hoping so too!" Tsetsiliya replied with a fervent nod, before her expression subdued a little. "Certainly it is being better than going alone." Memories of her dress shopping at Scarentines, and furthermore the auction, were peppered with embarrassment. She had been a little too daring on that occasion. But her face brightened again when she turned the subject back to classes. "Are there being any classes that you are looking at?" She had been waiting for some other classes to become available, and, fingers crossed, her new friend might make her way into some of them. The person in front of the poludnica moved, their purchase complete, and Tsetsiliya handed the dress over the counter to the clerk. To the ghoul's mind, the price wasn't too much, but at the same time, not as much as she was used to. However she preferred to be a little more spendthrift with her money than her mother and father were, and when the dress rang up, she began counting out her seeds.

"Here." She reached her hand over the counter to drop the seeds into the clerk's claw-fingered hand, trading them for the bag with her dress. As she moved aside to let Taryn pay, she couldn't help but sneak a glance inside at her purchase. It was so different from her norm! Daring without being too daring.

"Oh, I'm kind of a geek. Botany, human studies, the creature feature... I want to do it all," Taryn admitted, "More the achademics than the... magic and the gym. Maybe I should get into magic, though, I mean... it'd be handy to learn a hex or two." She hoped her parents would be more proud than disappointed if she spent some of her time in spellbooks rather than encyclopedias... or maybe there was a spell-encyclopedia? "Ooh, and music. and home-ec!"

Clearly she was a bit of an over-achiever.

The chimera came forward then and paid the clerk for her own dress. She was nigh broke now, but she hoped it would all be worth it. Don't fail her, blind date box!

Tsetsiliya nodded as Taryn listed off her interests, very clearly impressed. She was only a decent student because her parents pushed her to be as such - they very clearly wanted her to excel in a number of things, but she always had a hard time sitting down to study. Memorization was her best friend, rather than passion towards learning.

"I am not trying the gym class yet.. but I am hearing it is being difficult." She could only imagine it was such, with what little she saw of the gym teacher, Red, while on The Island. She moved towards the front of the store back into the main part of the Maul, when all of a sudden it hit her.

Taryn liked botany.

"Botany?" Her eyes widened, much as they did when she had found Ren's garden, or discovered some of her friends were also vegetarian. Such was her love for plants. "I am also liking plants! Are you having any in your dorm?" Her excitement was rising now - oh, how good it felt to have another plant buddy! "Oh, I am seeing a nursery on my way into the Maul! Would you like to go?" Truthfully, she didn't want to cut their meeting so short, and she had never really been to the Maul, much less with a friend.

It was a good day.

Taryn's heart leaped at the offer to spend more time with her new companion. She certainly liked the ghoul, and had never been to the Maul herself.

"Sure!" the chimera peeped, a little over-excited, and immediately trying to calm herself. First dress shopping, then learning, then some silly ghoul time... was this was it was always like? She could definitely live with this! "Um, I have a dionaea, it was just a little seed when I got it, I didn't really know what I was doing. I'd love to know, though! To learn... and maybe have some more? How about you, what do you have?"

So. exciting.

"Oh, I am also having a dionaea! She is growing quite nicely!" Tsetsiliya beamed as she lead the way to the plant shop, keeping in step with her new friend. "It is being important to remember which soils you are using. I am bringing a deadly nightshade from home, but he was not faring so well." She shrugged. "Oh, but I am having a lot of other plants as well. There is the hemlock, the sunflowers that my grandmother is sending.."

She chatted animatedly as they continued away from the dress store, her words soon mixing and lost among the conversations of other Maul shoppers.
