The taller senshi was rubbing at her shoulder where the cat had essentially dug her claws into. Every so often she rolled that shoulder, as if to make sure there was no lasting damage. There definitely was a frown being shot in the manx cat's direction, but the manx wasn't paying attention.
"I assure you, more than a fair share of the blame should be on Iris' shoulders."
Iris snorted in retaliation, "F*ck off, cat!"
"*********," she corrected without turning to face the yellow suited senshi. "And, to answer your question... this is happening because you are a Sailor Senshi. That monster is called a youma, and the Sailor Senshi are needed to protect the civilians and defeat them before they cause any damage."
Seeing as she was being left out of the conversation, the blonde went and leaned herself against the wall, hand leaving her shoulder and her arms now crossed as she leaned, looking at the two with very judgmental eyes.
"That's puttin' it lightly!" she added on as commentary.

"Oh," Euanthe said quietly as she cast a wary glance in Sailor Iris' direction. Then again, a rather louder "Oh! Then, all this stuff about the terrorists... and the monsters... you're not really- I mean, we're not really..." Admittedly she hadn't payed much attention to what was going on in Destiny City. At her age, Linnea had an excellent knack for ignoring anything that didn't seem to concern herself. Now it was starting to come together.
"But then everyone has it all wrong!" she said fervently, her hands curling into determined little fists. "Someone has to tell them that- oh, but who would even believe it unless they saw?" Linnea certainly hadn't. Already having lost the battle Euanthe let out a resigned sigh. Better to learn about what she could do than fret over trying to change misconceptions. "So, then where are these monsters coming from? Is there some way to stop them at the source?"

"The youma come from the Negaverse. And unfortunately, there really isn't a way to stop them at the source, unless you want to essentially commit suicide trying." Euanthe was not the first one to think that in all honesty, and probably wouldn't be the last one to think of such a solution. In all honesty, Sailor Iris had never thought of it before, but none could accuse Iris of being the thinking variety.
It was unprompted, but the blonde spoke up, merely because she had an opinion. "I've been barkin' up that tree fer at least a year with people I know... when I ain't doin' this senshi thing. Nobody will understand this sh*t. Hell, I even saved one of my best friends, but he still sees the senshi as pests... not as heroes." Zuniga had the scar to prove it. He didn't need to hear about how the senshi were fighting evil by moonlight.
"Ya jus' gotta do yer job, cause you know it's th'right thing t'do."

"I see," Euanthe muttered, her eyes staring at the pavement as she took in the information. She bit her lip, feeling a little more disposed toward Iris now. No wonder she was so angry if that was the thanks she got from saving a friend. "I'm sorry," she said, not knowing what to say.
So, it was going to be a long and unrewarding road. That was grim. Fight against the Negaverse (whatever that was) in a never ending battle against monst- youma, and have no one appreciate your efforts for it. Tough! Euanthe pushed off from against the wall, squaring her shoulders and standing up straight with all the dignity and determination she could muster. Linnea would have wanted this to be someone else's problem... in many ways she still did. The last thing she wanted was to think that one day her parents might need her help and after saving them, they'd turn on her for it. But it was because there might come a day when they did need her help that she had to do this. Them and anyone else. Iris had said it true.
Besides, if she tried to give the pen back she was sure to get a grade-A curb stomping from Sailor Iris. And not only was that terribly unpleasant, but some weird little part of herself actually wanted Sailor Iris to like her on top of it. Or at least not regard her as totally useless and pathetic.
"Thank you, both of you, for all of this. Is there anything else I should know?" she asked, in the interest of being less useless and pathetic. She had a feeling there was still a lot.

The blonde quirked a brow in the other senshi's direction. "Why th'f*ck are ya apologizin' t'me?" Nothing had immediately prompted this girl needing to say "sorry," so the only thing she could foresee as a reason to apologize for anything was that Euanthe was trying to apologize for things other people had done. Which was clearly unacceptable.
Clearing her throat in an effort to regain the attention of the senshi, ********* replied to the question. "I am quite certain there are many things you should know, but let us just do something a bit more practical for everyone. Iris, Euanthe, please pull out your phones."
There were eyes rolling and complaints tumbling for Iris' mouth. "Why do I gotta have all of yer contact information in my phone, cat?! Seriously... might as well jus' call my phone yer phone!" Both of the eternal senshi's hands were empty, but without a second thought, she seemed to reach behind her with her left hand, and when she brought her hand back out in front, there was a phone similar to Euanthe's, except much brighter in color.
"Why do I suspect yer gonna be askin' me t'give the tutorial?" Iris shot a look to ********* style="color: gray">"Well, since you are volunteering..." ********* teased.
"I AIN'T F*CKIN' VOLUNTEERIN'!!!"

Euanthe couldn't help but smile now as she watched the exchange between ********* and Iris. Their bickering was almost endearing, she thought. Obediently she searched around for where she'd stored the phone - she had forgotten it entirely in her panic and haste, but here it was. Weird. Euanthe decided to chalk it up to the mysterious, magical part of all this craziness.
Still, if there was so much magic involved why use cellphones? Obviously they had to be magical cellphones, but they looked so... mundane. She supposed that must be the point. Idly she tapped at a few a few buttons with her thumb, not pressing hard enough to actually make them do anything.
"I wonder what my father will think when he finds he's being billed for two texting plans," she said, rather lamely. It was a joke but her delivery was so terrible that she wondered if they might take her seriously.

********* was the first to misinterpret the girl's attempt at a joke. "Oh no, there's no bills for the phone you got from me! Think of it as a free service. After all, they aren't just ordinary phones."
"...bla bla bla..." Iris had heard the speech before. "Whatever... just watch what I do... then do it after me." Moving in slightly closer, the blonde began to push buttons. It was obvious she wasn't slowing herself down, so Euanthe needed to be paying her best attention.
There was a pause in the button pushing after she hit one button labeled Scan. With that, she aimed her phone at the girl next to her, as if trying to take a picture.
"Do all that... and ya basically add a senshi into yer phone..." To make the point, Iris quickly just pushed a few more buttons and located Euanthe's name in a list of senshi. One more push of a button, and she was dialing that phone.

Euanthe struggled to keep up, pushing buttons seemingly at random. "O- oh, okay... okay... wait- okay..." she sounded like a broken record. But the screen between her hands seemed to be displaying the kinds of messages a normal phone would, if the categories and capabilities it had were rather strange. She was confident that she could figure it out.
Like a mirror Euanthe lifted her own phone and scanned Sailor Iris in return. She was about to push the last few buttons she supposed Iris had when her phone rang. "Oh my," she blinked as the phone jumped to life in her hand, staring at it. "It is quite useful."

Before the other girl could pick up her phone to reply, Iris hung up, cutting the ringing on the other end. Having finished her job, she glanced to the cat. The blonde had mentally checked out and wanted to now physically check out as well.
"Indeed, it is meant to be quite useful, Euanthe. Now, just so you know, that scan feature only works on senshi when in their fuku. So if you try using it on a regular person, it won't work. Even if that regular person happens to be a senshi, it won't work."
The cat wasn't necessarily eager to go, but she was standing up on all four feet now. "Now... to change back... just think of yourself back to normal. In the clothing you had been wearing prior to this. Do that, and you will be back to your usual self again." With a nod, she seemed to hint that it would be best for the girl to do just that.

Change back right here? Euanthe looked a little concerned about that. Wasn't this some crazy magical superhero gig? And wasn't the point of having a special different name and a crazy outfit to hide your identity? Well, being Euanthe wasn't exactly like being Batman but the similarities were there. Nervously she scratched behind her ear, biting her lip. That sort of identity subterfuge stuff was meant to protect her from enemies and ********* and Iris were her allies, it was probably better in the long run that they knew.
It took rather more effort than she expected to recall what she had worn up till this point. The experience had been so surreal that she was more than a little scrambled. Was it her ballet practice uniform? No, of course not, she changed out that. Was that really less than an hour ago, less than a half hour, even? When danger and drama were involved time acted strangely.
Closing her eyes helped her to envision the pale dress and her hastily plaited hair. She wondered if there was as much glowing and fanfare this time around as the first. The change back seemed shorter and less bewildering at least.
"Simple enough," was all she could think to say when it was done, flashing an awkward-half smile.

Sailor Iris didn't seem to care. In fact, she seemed to have moved forward a bit in an impatient gesture. Let's get going seemed to be more important to her than the whole Let me say hi to this girl in her civilian form thing. It wasn't exactly like Sailor Iris was going to be calling this girl to get her life story now after saving her a**.
"Simple enough indeed!" The cat was already up to the girl's ankles and rubbing up against them. In a slightly lowered voice as to not invoke the wrath of Iris, she simply added "I suspect we should get back to patrolling. Will you be fine to go back to where you were heading?"

Oh god ********* was so cute. It was easy to overlook that when she was helping to save your life, speaking and acting all human-like. At the first display of a little cat-ness Linnea nearly melted. Slowly she bent down to scratch behind one of ********* ears, the way her own (considerably less magical) cat liked her to do. "I think I'll be fine. Thank you. I'll be careful on my way back," she said, suppressing the urge to just pick ********* up right there and hug her. She quickly pulled herself upright again for fear that she'd act on said urge, stammering, "A- and you two stay safe as well."

********* was a cat, no matter how many non-feline talents she had. The faint touch of finger behind her ears was enough to get her purring started up. However, the petting was far too short, but the girl did have a point.
"We always are," she offered cheerfully, though her words weren't exactly all that truthful. Considering the fact Sailor Iris was up against some pretty strong youma these days, it wasn't always easy to stay safe. However, there was no need to worry this girl's pretty little head over it.
With that, she trotted up to the yellow suited senshi. It didn't take long for the pair to dash off, fleeing the scene and leaving Linnea all by herself once more.
