Oh Jack, it was Helma... and now she was gone. Running past the students with no care at all leaving them to stand in a small group confused and wondering what just happened. What came next was a gnome, this of course displeased Sammy and the temptation to kick it...

Quickly dropped as it vanished in a puff of FEAR, as a ninja slowly stepped out of the woods glaring with a cold gaze at them. "Hellma Shox just went running that way." She gestured casually over her shoulder to where the 'teacher' had just ran leaving the students behind. Moving slowly she took a spot between the ninja and Amrita, raising both her hands to prepare for trouble an inevitable fight. "West if you don't mind help me make sure Amrita is okay if anything happens alright?" Stopping at last in place, she never let her eyes off the ninja.

"So before we all end up trying to kill one another or you go on your way to find Helma do you mind me asking something Ninja?" Her eyes narrowed curiously as FEAR filled her fleshless left fist. "Are you the one from Christmas who wiped out a whole group of students, and a dragon?"

When the gnome burst into the clearing, West's train of thought barreled past "what will this exam be about" and on to "what in the hell" in a matter of moments. It seemed that something had upset the stupid thing badly enough that it was nearly flailing in its desire to flee from it. And then it... died. Hmm. What could have been so ba...

Jingleberry.

Yep, they were going to die. But such a sweet death it would be!

West stared in unconcealed awe at the ninja who had once brutally murdered him. What to do? In the meantime he nodded in response to Sammy, casting a glance back at Amrita to make sure she hadn't passed out or anything, then prepared himself for the worst.

Jingleberry received a shrug West hoped was vague and nonchalant. As much as he wanted to prance over to their minty attacker and beg to become his apprentice, it didn't feel quite right to be such a traitor to his kind, especially while he was standing right here in Halloween.

"Yeah," he muttered under his breath. "He is."

Amrita wasn't sure what just happened; Hellma, a gnome? What? But she did recognize two very important things; one being that the gnome was dead and the second being...the ninja. She recognized him of course, as the ninja who punched the Death Charm into the horizon. WHAT THE JACK WAS HE DOING HERE AAAAA----

Sammy stepped in front of her, and Amrita felt a little wave of bravery through her rotten little body.

"w-We're not going to tell you!" Amrita added in a shakingly loud voice, shortly after Barth mentioned she was probably somewhere...of course she regretted what she had said when Sammy was all too keen on giving her up, or at least letting him go and find her. But...she didn't want to give up their Headmistress. Not to something from Christmas! They were the ones to steal Santa, not the other way around!

"I...I recognize him too." She stammered, much quieter now. She was, however, preparing for the attack. Focus, Amrita...focus your FEAR just...just try!

After briefly glancing in the direction the zombie girl had pointed, Jingleberry returned to considering the students. His head tilted sightly, and thye curve of a smile was just barely visible. "Oh, it's you guys." A soft laugh filled the clearing, and maybe they could all be friends after all? He did save them from the Death Charm right?

"You guys..." he unsheathed his swords, and a wave of JOYful killing intent hit the students, "...caused a lot of damaged in my town last year."

Then again, maybe not.

"Yup, us guys." Her own grin growing on her face, frak it she thought. They died plenty enough time's around here, and Cricket was sure to be able to piece them together and at this rate it looked like he wasn't going to let them leave alive anyway. The wave of JOYful killing washed over her but this time it wasn't nearly as harsh as the time spent in Christmas town, no they were still in Halloween Town, in the heart of a campus filled with FEAR. (They really did have a slight abundance floating about after the whole CRICKET ATE BUL deal)

Stumbling backwards from the wave of JOY Sammy dropped back into a fighting stance, fist raised. Something was different though, her left arm seemed to glow ever so faintly, a faint wisp of purple FEAR seeming to float around it. She really wasn't the same old snot she was before.

"Lets go!"

With that she took a leap off the stone bench swinging at the Ninja with her fist full of FEAR.

Amrita shuddered. Oh great, he remembered them. While the Vetala had not been on Candycane Lane when the initial attack happened, she had heard about it, seen his strength in a later match...and was guilty of attacking Christmastown like the rest of them.

The wave of Joy pushed her back, but it was much easier to keep herself standing as her toes dug into the ground, trying to catch and brace through the shockwave. The ghoul recovered with little more than a stumble, but once she recovered she froze. Oh jack. He'd drawn his swords. They had to fight now...oh jack it was christmas in halloween again!

Sammy lept into action and she took one look back at the two boils in their group. Oh jack, four of them against one super powered ninja...this was not going to end well. A deep breath, a shaking exhale, and Amrita turned back towards the Ninja.

"Right..." She murmured, trying to calm herself down enough to focus...and joined Sammy in the attack, twisting to swing her right leg out, heel poised to hit the Ninja.

Barth's claws grew slick with black slime as he weathered the Joy onslaught. Not enough to drip into something muddily sentient, like he had done before at the forest's edge. But enough to have the heft of the first aid kit on the island. As much as Barth would have liked to slink into the background, they had Jingleberry's attention now. Sammy and Amrita both landed sound hits.

His swipe could be described as cautious at best. And it came short anyway. Barth had still not quite made it to the benches. But he was still steadily oozing his way into something resembling fighting distance.

"Blew up the workshop, too," he said.

[Smerdle]

Hmph. It wasn't like those yetis and elves and trees hadn't attacked them first. West's wide-eyed reverence turned to disbelief then determined anger as the ninja drew his blades and struck them all in one sweeping blow. Weird. Even after that substantial hit the demon felt strong, more alive than he ever had in a fight. Cool!

Unlike Sammy and Barth, West kept his FEAR to himself, still reluctant to use it considering its consequences. Perhaps that was something he would get over as a Knob, but for now punching was more fun anyway.

He hopped forward, striking at Jingleberry with a bit of force then backing away, a satisfied smirk on his face. It was a decent start.

Staggering back, the ninja's smile grew even more pleased, "You've gotten better. All of you." He smoothly stepped back, "That makes this so much more satisfying," and he began to attack.

Barth wasn't sure how many more of those kind of hits he could take. Not a lot. But at least the ninja coming forward put him in range.

He slid backwards. His claws did the work.

Amrita recovered from her first attack on the Ninja well enough, mightly pleased with the impact that she felt against her heel. It was...almost satisfying. Okay. It was a lot satisfying. She felt helpful for once, and that was just...such a relief to feel. Like the child whose body she was inhabiting, she turned to stare at her comerades with a proud grin as if expecting praise...but the person she indirectly got it from was not the one she wanted to hear.

"...!" Jingleberry attacked again, and Amrita threw her arms up to try and block at least a little bit of the barrage.

Grinning wide and wicked Sammy hopped back ever so slightly to ready for her next strike. "Well today was exam day, but as you clearly witnessed you scared our examiner to the hills." She offered a light shrug, "But beating you would probably count as a passing grade too I figure. Jack knows they love letting us do the fighting."

Arm raised the blast of JOY clashed with the aura of FEAR leaking from Sammy's arm causing both to flare as they clashed, it burned like hell, but Sammy couldn't care less.

Dashing in shaking off the last attack she spun around bringing her foot around to kick, attacking the Ninja's side. "Too slow!"

West took a step back as Jingleberry attacked for the second time. Now that was more like how he had felt during his previous battles. Mrgl. Why did these bastards have to hit so hard? And with JOY, no less?

The wrath demon rushed forward, aiming his fist at that pale expanse that may or may not have housed the ninja's internal organs. Did Jingleberry have internal organs? West hoped he did, at least at the moment. He hoped he had managed to clip him right in his ninja kidneys.

Not bothering to defend against the barrage of attacks, Jingleberry brought his arm back to strike when the zombie girl kept talking. The blow this time, however, was pulled, and his expression softened to one of profound pity. "You were being examined by...that gnome in the purple hat?" Obviously he found something fairly pathetic in their situation. "This so-called school really doesn't value it's students highly, does it?"
