Wow, it was a deceptively long swim. The skinwalker could feel the waves resisting him as if it knew he hated it, scowling and muttering to himself the whole way. And in retrospect, that might have been his downfall, although he had no way of knowing it yet. Reaching out a hand, he was just about to grab hold of the side of the ship when suddenly the feeling of a wet, rubbery tentacle slithered up around one ankle and up around his leg, and he had just half a second to think the word 'Riley?' before he was suddenly dragged forcefully under the water, little bubbles trailing up where he cried out under the water, the sound muffled and watery. What the hell?! Opening his eyes, Nuk peered down into the darkness, only getting sight of something blue before the salt stung too much, and he reclosed them, thrashing wildly.
Nope, definitely not Riley.
He didn't even try to swim for the surface, knowing full well the sea creature was far stronger than him, and was in it's natural element -- it'd sooner wear him out than he'd be able to swim against it to the surface. So, instead, Nuk grabbed the only weapon he really had. Savage had said the point was to survive, well, he was gonna survive. Fisting the bear claws between his fingers, the skinwalker stabbed wildly at the tangle on his ankle (seemingly doing little to no damage at all -- this thing was strong) to try to get free, all the while cursing at it. Which... mostly just came out as "Blurb blurb glug blurb."
However, whether it was because of his HEROIC MANLINESS or just because the creature got bored of him, within a few minutes he was breathing fresh air again, and his feet had been placed gently onto the deck of the ship. For a second, he wasn't sure what had happened -- patting himself down, Nuk blinked a bit to himself before looking up, noticing the tentacle slithering over the side of the boat and back into the water.
"Yeah, that's right, you'd better run!"
Right. Trash-talk the creature that almost killed you. Great idea Nuk.

TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Trollapus hadn't forgotten about.... the ladies~. It gently picks up Junko and Colette and sets them down at the entrance. Lucky girls not getting thrown!! The trollapus then disappears with out a trace under the water feeling satisfied with its trolling for the day.
NO BUT SERIOUSLY GAIZ
A spirit appears at the mouth of the boat. It holds its lantern before it and gestures for the students to follow after it. Following the spirit seems a better option then staying out in the open for the Trollapus to come back and toy with you.
Though the rotting wooden ship doesn't seem all that safe. Old traps and surprises await the students if they are not careful.
OOC Information Center * I would advise following the spirit. Trollapus will not be so happy if he finds students waiting out side of the ship >/ * Be sure to roll a 4 sided dice * Roll a 1 or 3 and you have no troubles following after the spirit * Roll a 2 or 4 and you'll set off a trap. * Leave your rp post open ended if you roll a trap where your student bumps in to something or steps on to something. I will take care of the trap and have further instructions if a traps triggered.

It seemed as if Ren were the only one who the octopus...thing...had issues with. He let out a small sigh as he watched the others get dropped off nice and neatly on the deck of the shop.
"Oy vey, what a start..." he murmured, and dripping wet, he pushed himself to his feet as the last of the students were deposited down onto the boat. Cold, sopping, and bedraggled, Ren pushed his soaked hair away from his face, tying it back into a messy braid to keep it out of his face.
"So, er...what no - "
His question was interrupted by a bright light. Shielding his eyes a bit, Ren turned, blinking at the...thing...floating a few feet away. Whatever it was, there was a lantern held in one spindly, ghostly hand, and without a word, it made a follow me gesture and turned.
To go, or not to go...that is the question...
Following the wispy thing might lead to worse things, but not following it might mean getting stuck with the tentacled thing that had dragged him underwater, and if Ren had a choice between that and the darkness of the decrepit ship...
"All right, here goes nothing," he said, glancing back at the others. "Ready for this, guys?"

The site of the apparition with the lantern gave the skinwalker reason to pause in his trash-talking, stopping mid-sentence (since no one was listening anyway) to look over the ghostly guide with mild interest. There seemed nothing particularly threatening about it -- the smoke-like tendril didn't seem to have the capacity to be hostile, its only weapon being the hanging lantern perched above it to light the way through the vast darkness of the ship. Then again... looks could be deceiving. He wasn't sure whether or not to trust the thing or not, but with the only other option being to fight the trollopus again... well, Nuk was pretty sure he was going to just take his chances with following the ghost thing.
Rolling his shoulders a bit, he glanced away from the others to watch the girls head towards the boat, stayed behind at first to wait until the trollopus had placed Junko and Colette down gently on the boat, only then looking back. It seemed Jericho, Chris and Ren had already gone ahead -- he could see the smallest flicker of light in the darkness, along with three shadows. Reaching out to rest a hand on Junko's shoulder, he squeezed it a little before letting go, starting forward to lead their new little group of three into the darkness of the ship. "Don't worry Junnie-Bee, I'll keep you safe," he muttered, mostly to himself, "We'd better hurry up, or we'll fall behind."
Quickening his step a little, the skinwalker followed the flickering light as best he could in the fading illumination, hurrying to try to catch up. The wood felt rotted under his feet, and he could feel it creak with every step, threatening to give. More than once, he barely danced out of the way before it collapsed beneath him, his leg falling through at one point, leaving him scraping to free himself, panting a little with the adrenaline. But it seemed he wasn't the only one having a little trouble -- in fact, Jericho and Christof seemed to be in more of it than he was. Glowing amber eyes swiveled upward just in time to see them step on one of the traps, watching them leap between the sharp blades to escape in the nick of time, positive from where he stood that he'd seen the blades slice off a few hairs.
"Hells bells..."
Yet it wasn't a scared exclamation. If anyone cared to look, they would notice the skinwalker's expression had curled into an almost wild smirk, eyes glinting with enthusiasm. Now this was a class he could take.

The hunchback went tumbling as he leaped, a blade just barely snagging his shoulder, but a few busted seams was a lot more appealing than a severed head and torso. That was certainly no condition to finish this ridiculous examination with! Was that even what this was? That's what he THOUGHT this was but with their faculty members, one never knew.
Suffice to say, when he straightened up and picked at the damage to his hunch, he was wobbling dizzily on his feet. A quick glance around, it looked like everyone who had ventured forth were unhurt so far, breathing a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, a thought occured to him, a dark, devious thought he was almost ashamed of.
If the Dragon didn't pass his exam, though... maybe Mistress would lose interest?
