"I picked the right family for me."
Normally it would have been some long winded rant about how the Negaverse was super awesome and perfect and full of cookies (that last part was because of him). Lectures about how both sides killed, how they both fought for something they truly believe in but damnit the Negaverse was right and they -would- win. Scheelite held a lot of pride for his fellow officers, and he had no qualms boasting about them and their positive qualities.
But not tonight.
All he could do was give a nod and a quiet "Thank you". Long windy explanations were replaced with a broken look and a silent teleport back home.
It was one General off the streets for the night, but really...what good had it done?

He was gone, and she was alone now. Powering down, she couldn't help but wonder if what she had done was right. Hell, she had done nothing but question herself throughout the course of the entire evening. Never before had she doubted her own actions to this degree. There was always the shimmer of a thought in the back of her mind that she wasn't doing the right thing. It was something she had easily suppressed up until this point. It was free, and it was raging at her with a vengeance she should have been impressed with.
Instead, all it gave her was a headache. The flashing lights of downtown did little to cure the condition, and so she beat a hasty retreat back home. She had snuck in and out of the house so many times that she didn't even disturb her mother's fat persian. They never realized that their daughter left home in the middle of the night nearly every night, and she wasn't sure if she should be thankful for that or not. It served her purpose, and for tonight allowed her to climb into bed undisturbed and... defeated.
