Konrad realized that it was about time to leave the store, to go home and relax. Maybe practice some combat forms, and enjoy the rest of the day. He rose up from the stool behind the counter and stretched, his lean muscle tingling with happiness that it finally could stretch and gain some oxygen. He strode out through the aisles of the secondhand clothing to the office in the back. Betsy Miller, the manager, sat in her chair, her cubby body threatening to break through the too small wooden frame. Konrad put his hand on the door frame and leaned in. Smiling as best as he could when facing her he spoke. “Well Miss Miller, my time is up, it is time for me to go home.” The woman was reading one of her favorite gossip magazines, which she closed and dropped it down with an extra amount of zeal showing her distaste. Since he was leaving, that meant she would have to get up and work the register and not lounge around all day. One time Konrad had decided to tell her that she really shouldn’t be upset, that it could be much worse. She then began to spout out a bunch of stories about how her life sucks and she never gets any time to relax, and she wanted to go out and have fun with her friends, which Konrad realized she really didn’t have any. Then she went on about how he was lazy for leaving so early so on and so forth and the only reason she didn’t fire him was because she needed the extra help and nobody else would want to sink as low as his job. He remembered to bite his tongue when thinking that her job was not much better, and he wasn’t even getting paid so it wasn’t really even a job. He tried to explain to her that life in his homeland was difficult, and she should be happy with her lot in life, but she wouldn’t listen and said that everything he has said about his home was exaggerated because nowhere could be like that. He didn’t like talking about his homeland as it was, so when the little he did saw was called a lie, he ultimately just decided to just not say anything at all about it. Other people said he was looking for pity, which was not true, he only was trying to make others understand that things could be worse. He was perfectly content with what he had in life, he didn’t need anything else. He couldn’t understand why people where so dissatisfied with this lovely free land. Betsy glared at him and didn’t even have the courtesty to say goodbye, sending him off with a wave of her hand. He did not understand the worman, he shrugged and walked away, back down the aisles to the front door. His feet hit the concrete, he saw a schoolbus rush by. Waved, knowing several of the people on board. Half the kids flipped him off, a custom that he did not understand until recently. Apparently it was a great sport to disrespect your fellow students. Konrad did not disappoint and flipped them off right back. Then received a bunch of angry sounding jeers in return that faded quickly as the bus sped on. Konrad started down the alleyway between some buildings, a shortcut home that he had found very quickly after he had started volunteering at St. Uthers. He had walked about halfway down when he stopped suddenly in his tracks. There was a sudden violent humming sound. He clenched his teeth together. His body ridged with what his past experience recognized as a bomb. The buzzing sound of a placed bomb, in a suitcase or other proper vessel, then called or radioed in to explode. He looked around wildly, wondering if this was a means for his old countrymen to end his life, revenge for his escape from them. Then it went on too long, Konrad realized that if it was a bomb, he would be dead, he took another step when he was suddenly enveloped in darkness. It lasted only a second, and he gasped in shock, finding himself in a completely different place then where he had been but a moment before. It was dark, and he couldn’t right away register much, so he blinked a few times, his eyes adjusting to the darkness. He saw knobs, monitors and wires. It reminded him of the bunker they had been taken to as a field-trip back home, a relic of the cold war. Dusty, lifeless, but once had a purpose. He stepped backwards only to bump into a console and nearly loose balance. He had no clue or understanding of what possibly could have occurred. So, in bewilderment, sputtered out a bunch of curses in his native tongue.

When he heard more people arrive behind him, Car turned around so quickly he got whiplash. He wasn't sure whether to hide or attack, so he did neither. He just watched them for a moment until the one with black hair started asking questions. "I was going to ask that same thing! What the hell!?"
He heard a sound like an old printer, looked around, and saw that it was the robot. Something in the area of its chest was moving and making the racket. Occasionally, a spark would fly out. This was too unreal.
"I must be dead," he decided. "And since you're not naked yet, this must be hell. I'm dead and I'm in hell!"
Another guy showed then showed up, and Car had to sit down.

Just as she was slipping out of her catatonic state, Ty was greeted by another body who suddenly appeared before her. Her heart burrowed into her throat in shock as she guarded herself with her arms, but as the girl spoke and offered a hand, Ty calmed down. She took the offer and coaxed herself up with a grateful nod. Just as she went to verbalize her gratitude for the aid, another body materialized.
"Unless were taking a page from Sartre, we're not dead," she chimed in, raising her brow in the boy's direction. "However, nothing worldly can even begin to describe what the hell's going on.." She paused for a moment as she pinched the bridge of her nose and winced slightly. Her head still hurt.
"Ya, we're probably dead.. Or abducted by aliens.. Most likely dead though."

“Death solves all problems, No Man, No Problem. Or at least that was what I was taught. If we are dead, it seems that the saying is certainly a lie, as there is a severe problem. What is this place?” When it came down to the overall weirdness of the sudden arrival at a strange place, the fact that there were others who where also there sputtering curses and flailing wildly did not come as much of a shock. Though he did not know exactly what was going on, he knew he had to keep his head on straight and use logic. He was trained to react well in stressful situations, while not trained to defend against something greater than his comprehension, he thought he would just have to stay calm until he figured it all out. Strangely one of the first things that he noticed, was that all of them had either black or brown hair. Himself included. While he didn’t think hair color came into play here. There were a couple girls, and one male saying something about women being naked. All of them where about his age it seemed. All of them were rather fit. He gritted his teeth when one of the girls made a comment about Sarte. He was pretty sure she was trying to tell a joke, but the mere mention of a pro Marxist brought up savage memories, especially in such a bad situation. Even if Sarte wasn’t a communist, any support of Marx’s philosophy worried Konrad. Going back to a place that promised a future of socialism put him in a sour mood. He couldn’t help but again wonder if this was a trick of his homeland. The other girl there was someone Konrad recognized. He had seen her at one of his many trips to the library. Though he didn’t know her name, that at least said that they were not just taking people who betrayed his homeland. He knew she wasn’t a foreigner. If there were residents of Ash Peaks here then this was probably something completely different. His mind had gone racing, wanting to think of all he had been forced to learn about secret projects by nations to advance technology and create super weapons. He didn’t think that this was anything of that nature. He didn’t want it to be anyway, this had an entirely different air about it. Something that he just could not quite place. Then the strange almost humanoid box in the middle of the floor started sparking and making noises. Konrad took a step back, not wanting to be close if it exploded. He looked around the room realizing that there was nothing he could trust to brace him for the impact and fire, so he sighed and shook his head. “Seriously. What is going on?”

"Bye bye guys! Waving good bye, Vi left the gym where she trained after or when she wanted to skip school.
"Ah! what a nice day today!" She walked the streets with a smile on her face, today she had been able to make a reverse grapple on her partner and then a flying kick. She was very proud of herself. "i should treat myself to something sweet!" She quickly made her way towards an ice cream stand and ordered a strawberry ice cream cone.
Paying the vendor she took her sweet and walked in happiness towards her house, only faintly distracted by a mechanical sound. "hmmm...que sera eso?" she let her thoughts try to place the sound but was unable too. It was then that a terrible feeling took over her body. Vivaldi felt as if her entire being shook and vomit rose from the pit of her stomach.
Vi started running, something in her told her to flee. She was entering a park when she doubled over and started to convulse. "what is this?...i cant...move" It was hard to decipher the next few seconds inside Vivis mind, but she closed her eyes and let out a small whimper of fear as she let herself fall. Only that instead of falling on the grassy ground, she hit cold metal floor.
Vivi just lay there, her eyes closed for a few seconds contemplating if she had fainted and was now in her meditative state. Opening her eyes and glancing around, made her realize that this was not her mental temple, but rather a cold dark room. "Damn...was i kidnapped?" She asked herself this before her eyes landed on four people inside the room. "YO! are you guys my kidnappers? or were you also taken?" Vi slowly got up feeling a tad wobbly and dusted herself off, smiling at the others as she weighed her options of getting out of here. "c'mon c'mon! like when you watch CSI Vivi!.."

As Kylie helped the girl up from the floor, another person appeared, she turned only to have her ears bombarded by a language she didn't understand. Confusion flashed a crossed her face, she may not be able to speak many languages but she could at least identify almost all of them. This one should just couldn't place.
Then another spoke, she realized it was the boy she had seen in detention earlier, however she chose to ignore his last statement, she wasn't quite sure what me meant. Kylie watched the contraption near him that seemed to be sparking and sputtering. Nothing in this place was easing her confusion.
"Dead, Aliens?!" She looked around, nothing was making any sense at all. She opened her mouth to speak again when yet another person appeared, this time a girl.
"If we are in fact kidnapped, I assume we are all in the same boat. All I know is that I was standing on the sidewalk and suddenly I was here." Kylie looked to each of them, "Since I have seen two more people appear in much the same way I bet I did, where were all of you before you were here?" She paused hoping to find answers and sort all of this out.

Seated on one of the consoles, Car crossed his arms and looked at them all as yet another showed up, just as confused as any of them were. After several moments it seemed at last that no one else was going to show up. He felt a little more calm now and decided to speak up. "None of us were with any other of us, so all of us were in different places. Each of us is as confused as the next, so none of us have any clue as to how or why we're here. That much is right, right?" He paused for a moment as the broken automaton began to make that noise again while more sparks flew. "So... the best thing to do is all of us calm down, because I don't see a door. There may only be so much air in here, and..."
He heard a sudden jolt of electricity and the console he was sitting on began to hum with energy. It had shocked him, which made him jump up and away from it. Lights flickered on, and slowly but surely a viewing screen above became illuminated. On it was a figure to see, of an older male being of strange appearance, humanoid yet alien.
He spoke with a strange voice, unfamiliar to their ears as it had not been spoken for many, many eons. The voice became quiet after a moment as another voice came in. This one would be more familiar. It was a synthesis of their own voices, collectively compiled to create a perfectly androgynous and articulate voice which translated.
"Greetings, children of Earth. If you are receiving this message it means that your planet, your home, is under attack. You have all been called here to save it. Eons ago, in immemorial time, a powerful force of great evil threatened all that exists. The greatest of the warriors of this planet were called upon to defeat this force and were granted power. With it they won and killed the dark lords that led this evil army. ...But, they did not stay dead. From beyond death they rise, like waves breaking on the shore. They erode the veil between their world and ours. When it becomes thin it may crack, loosing great numbers of the legion of darkness. I beseech you, close the veil and destroy the evil threatening this world. I will grant you the power necessary to do so in the hope that you chosen ones will be equal to this task."
The light from the screen faded and a door opened to their left which led to another chamber.

By the time the screen flickered on, Ty had given up being surprised and rather than jump she turned towards it to listen attentively. The voice was haunting, yet reassuring, and all the while shaking her to her core. It wasn't until it the image had faded did his words fully resonate in her mind. At first, she met his message with disbelief. She had never seen herself as a fighter let alone a warrior, in fact she considered herself more of a conscientious objector or even a pacifist. Now, she was told she was a great warrior of Earth? This was ridiculous; the decree sounded like something out of a typical science fiction movie or a Lovecraft book. Portals opening to unleash unspeakable evils, average people called to greater power to defend the home team- the whole thing was rather cliché. Given this aspect, who's to say this was real and not some elaborate hoax? She had no proof that this individual, this thing, was telling the truth. For all she knew this door could be a gas chamber, or any sort of torture room he asked them to step into. However, if that were the case though, why hadn't they been subjected to that in the first place? It was then that Ty began weighing the opposite option.
What if this was real? It was completely foolish to even comprehend the event as true, yet there was something inside her that couldn't let go of the thought. She had never seen herself as special before, at least from a warrior standpoint (she couldn't throw a punch to save her life,) yet this person saw potential in her, maybe things she would never see otherwise. Her mother had always told her she could grow up to change the world, and Ty had every intention of it, at least with her sculpture work. Now, she had a chance to really make that difference and inside she still felt like running. Her cowardice sickened her.
Turning to the doorway, Ty's brow furrowed with uncertainty and fear. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that lying or not, this was the only door they had been given and the only sign of getting out or even understanding why they had been taken or how for that matter. Furthermore, if it was true and the Earth needed help, who was she to deny it?
Moments passed and after a few deep breaths she had made her decision. Silently, Ty removed herself from the counter and began to move into the chamber.

“Kiddnaped” Konrad felt like laughing at the idea. This was more than a kidnapping. Being directly removed from a street to some unknown location instantaneously was not simply a kidnapping. This was a scientific monstrosity beyond humanities current comprehension. This was technology greater than anyone, at least publicly, knows about. He looked at the others around him, slightly surprised how calm they were. While they were shaken up a bit, he expected a little more hysteria. Most people wouldn’t so easily accept such a bizarre situation. It usually took a while for logical thought to return to people in such a mad situation. Then the voice began speaking and a humanoid face appeared on a large screen.
The voice spoke of dark legions, evil armies and horrors from outside this world. It sounded a lot like the propaganda he was forced to listen to as a child. Of the evils outside his nation. Ideas and philosophies that needed to be crushed because they were inherently evil. He was told they were evil to the very core, and that the children even deserved to die since they were tainted with forbidden beliefs. They were tainted with gods and freedom of choice and would only seek revenge for dead families if they were allowed to live. He had come to believe that evil was in the eye of the beholder. He decided not to say anything about it, figuring whatever this being was, it would be easier to wait until the proper moment to escape than to argue, so he followed the others into the next room, hoping he wasn’t making a mistake.

Kylie nodded slowly, what the guy in the red shirt was saying made sense. One thing was for sure, whatever situation they were all in, they were in it together. Together It made her think of her brother, was he looking for her? Was he fretting trying to find her? Although she was doing her best to stand on her own two feet, Kylie still found herself dependent on her brother. She started to wish that he was here when the old piece of electronics came to life. The first sounds that came out only made her worry more What's really going on here... Then the sounds formed words that she could understand.
"Attack?" Her voice was more of a whisper, just to herself. It all felt surreal, as if all of this was just a creation in her own mind. A veil meant to keep out evil? None of this followed logic.
She watched cautiously as two of the members in the room moved into the chamber. It hadn't taken them long to decide. Kylie looked at her own feet, unsure. What if this is all just a trick? She shook her head slightly. No, deep down she knew that she just wanted to make this world a better place. Maybe this was how to do it.
Squaring her shoulders, and with a small sniffle, she marched into the chamber without a second thought.

Vivaldi jumped as the screen turned on and a face apeared to talk to them. "What the...." She payed close attention to the voice and shuddered as its words reached her core. "So...we are ment to be heros?"
Vi's voice was a squeak as she twirled this information around her mind. "The thing said...we are warriors, destined to beat darkness...." For the next few momments something froze for her, and she knew that this was the most exciting thing to happen to her.
"Iv always wanted to be a hero..." A smile broke on her face and she looked up to the others and saw that they were walking through the open door. "W...wait for me! dont leave me!"
She rushed to the door and stopped to look at the boy still in the room, and gave him a reasuring smile. "C'mon...lets go!"
Vivaldi knew in the back of her mind that she was acting weird, that a normal person would be worried...but no, she was happy. "Finnaly...something exciting!!!"

Car more or less tuned it out. It was too unreal, too much, and everyone was soaking it in. He felt like he was going insane. Most of all he was wondering why he'd be chosen. Obviously all of the others were all for saving the planet and fighting crime, making friends, freeing Tibet and whatever. But he didn't really give a damn. It was enough getting out of detention. There was no way he was hero material.
He looked around at the others to see how they reacted, but found that, one by one, they were all entering this chamber. He was last and was left alone in the chamber. It was big, quiet, empty, it smelled funny, and that robot just kept sparking and making noises. He'd been left behind now. He grumbled and pounded his fist against the metal console, then stalked after them into the room.
As soon as he entered, the heavy metal door closed behind them all and they were closed off in this room. What little light was supplied in the room dimmed as the ceiling above their heads exploded in an array of colors that formed themselves into rough shapes, then into concrete and recognizable forms. The voice spoke again.
"The creatures of myth, astounding and mysterious, their memory lasting throughout recorded history. Few know that these creatures once were not mere fantasy but actually roamed the Earth. Noble and strong, theirs is the power I give to you."
The creatures moved on the ceiling, flying, running, dancing, one by one descending down the walls. The lights fell upon each of them one by one as the voice spoke.
"The Chimera." The golden light fell upon Ty as the creature let out a silent roar. "The Kraken." The light, which was not black but actually a very narrow beam of white light that formed the outline of the creature as it swam onto Konrad and floated there serenely. "The Gryphon." The creature of green light flew down and lighted gracefully upon Kylie. "The Manticore." The purple beast descended to Vi where it sat calmly. "And the Phoenix." The red fire bird trailed flames as it flew down to Car and perched with its wings spread wide.
The lights came from five different places in the room, and they only ceased when the lights came back up, revealing five columns where each light originated from, each bearing the symbol of its respective beast. This light would also reveal that each of them had been changed. Where before stood five ordinary teenagers in their ordinary street clothes, there now were five warriors clad in advanced battlesuits. Then, as quickly and unexpectedly as they had come, the suits vanished, and in their place each teen was left with a device secured about their waist.
"These are your Power Morphers, the keys to your power. When in danger, raise them to the sky calling the name of your creature. You will morph into the formiddable fighting force known as the Power Rangers. As Power Rangers you will have access to a universe of power and will command a fleet of fighting machines called Zords."
A passage opened across the room from the door they used to enter this chamber, leading up into what seemed daylight.
"There are three very important rules you all must follow, or else you shall lose the protection of The Power," the voice warned. "First, never use your power for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle unless forced to. Finally, keep your identity secret. No one may know you are a Power Ranger."
The voice said no further, but Car was no longer listening anyway. He had rushed out and up the stairs, smelling a real way out this time. He found himself in a strange and unknown building, but gave it only a moment's consideration before finding his way to the door. It was boarded up, the windows broken, but Car's primary occupation had once been breaking doors open. He gave it a few good kicks and rushed out into daylight, running across a parking lot and right up to a metal railing.
He stood upon an outcropping which overlooked all of Ash Peaks. He looked behind him and saw the massive observatory he'd come from. He knew this place. He'd been here before.

When the last person entered the room the door shut and dimmed the little light they had. Vi strained her eyes to see the others but something in the ceiling captured her ever fleeting attention.
A mixture of colors sprayed across the ceiling and she was oddly reminded of a paint commercial, where paint is sploshed onto walls and ceiling with all the vibrant colors that exist. Her mind rushed as the voice from before started to speak again, she stood still and listened intently as it went on about mythical creatures. Vivaldi was about to ask the voice what it meant, when a huge chimera appeared and in its golden light rushed to one of the girls in the group.
She was scared now, she didn't think it was such a good idea to be here, yet she stood her ground and watched as a white light guided from the darkness a kraken towards a boy with looks that she knew were not originally from ash peeks and as it arrived to him it floated around him almost looking happy.
Vi was very taken aback from all this and surely thought that madness had overtaken her and that she should not worry about this so much. Yet when a gryphon's appeared and flew in a green light down to the soft looking girl she had come next to stand too. Vivadis frame shook as the beast grace and power radiated, but she was distracted by the voice again.
When the voice spoke the beasts name and a manticore appeared and descended calmly towards her. Vivi coundent believe it, it was such a gorgeous beast, yet she was utterly scared of it. Trying to brave her fears of it, she creeped her hand to touch it, but another beast, a phoenix appeared and she was at awe as it perched next to the boy that entered last and spread its blazing wings.
Vivi's mind tried to comprehend what was happening and then the lights came up, and as she looked at the others she saw them in weird clothing. They were all wearing suits with what she noticed was the colors that the pillars of light were made off. Finally remembering she too received a beast with a pillar of purple light, she looked down to her body which was now wearing a ridiculously purple and white suit, probably made out of spandex or some weird material, as it fit snugly to her body, making her hips and chest stand out.
Vivaldi was about to touch the fabric when in the blink of an eye they vanished and the voice came back on. it spoke about the weird thing on her waist and called it a power morpher, shrugging Vi twirled it in her hand as the voice continued, it also told them of their creatures and how they will help them fight against evil. "Zords..Dios mio...."
Vivaldi was a bit nervous since this had a sound of responsibility and hardship to it as the voice said their three rules. She was about to argue about how she couldn't tell anyone about being a ranger when the boy with the phoenix rushed out the door. Taking a look at her other companions in the room, Vivaldi smiled and bowed ever so slightly.
"My name is...Vivaldi Velazquez," Getting up from her tiny bow, she smiled brighter and turned to the door calling out to them as she walked. "C'mon fellow rangers...lets go!" She ran outside towards the railing with excitement, grabbing hold of it and pulling herself up with only a bit of effort. Sure she was scared of this weird experience, but all in all, this was but a new adventure in her life, or so she kept on telling herself.

As she entered the chamber, Ty wondered what to expect and as the others she soon found out. The Voice once again began to speak an as he did she listened attentively until the whole ordeal was over. The fate of Earth was apparently in the hands of these five individuals who could barely drive a car, and more frighteningly, she was one of them. The small device which held so much power, which summoned the power of her creature the Chimera, was now in her hands and her eyes fixated upon it. She was destined to save the world.. Power Rangers..
There was he a large thud and the echoing of footsteps. Drawing her eyes away, Ty's delusions of heroism faded when she realized one of the males had found a way out through sheer force. As she placed the device back upon her belt one of the other girls approached and introduced herself before nearly skipping out the door. Vivaldi was it? Her pep was rather unsettling given the situation and events that had transpired, but then again Ty wasn't used to such cheeriness in general so it could have easily been her. Once she had left, only three of them remained now. Eying the other two, Ty pondered introducing herself as well but the whole situation still seemed so surreal. Instead, she offered a half-hearted nod out of courtesy and then began a brisk walk until she was outdoors.
Never had fresh air felt so good. With a deep breath, Ty regained her sense of direction when she realized where she was. She had never gone up to this observatory, but she had known of it and its location which was enough to make her feel secure again. Her eyes scanned the scene to find the brutish male who thrashed the door down across the way who seemed to be gazing down at the view below. At first, she didn't really know whether to approach or not; usually men who break things without much thought or vocalize their love for nude women weren't people she'd like to associate herself with; he seemed like a typical pig. However, despite her better judgment she moved to the railing anyway to find the best route back into town.
Peering over the edge, Ty found herself reflecting upon the scene to reveal a prosperous and peaceful city below. She wondered what evils would befall it, or when it would, or even if it would. It was still quite a bit to process if such an unreal ordeal could be processed.
After having her fill of the view, Ty looked over to the boy once more who seemed oblivious to her presence so rather than offering some sort of a farewell gesture she just turned and began finding her way back to town. It was a long way home and she hoped she could find some sort of explanation to tell her father when she arrived.

It was now to the point that Konrad was taking everything in stride. This was just too unreal for him. He had seen crazy things in his short life. But speaking in terms of what technology humanity has and what he had witnessed. Words of darkness and mythical creatures. This was science fiction coming to life. Strange suits covered their bodies and disappeared. Glowing holograms of animals before them. Even mention of fighting machines. He grimiaced slightly. He had no desire to fight things he did not understand. But he supposed that if this truly was a great darkness and it came to defending the place that he called home, he would do it. He loved this place and the freedom it offered. He was still just confused and wondering if this was some kind of fantastical practical joke. He watched as the other boy kicked his way out and rushed into the light. Then two of the girls followed him so Konrad shrugged and walked over and climbed out. He walked up to the railing next to the other two and watched the girl trying to find her way down. “Well, if we are to trust strange voices and hidden labs of untold technology, it looks like the place we call home will need our help.” He said with a smile. His accent probably butchering more that half the larger words he tried to use. He was good at speaking English, but his tongue still wanted to move in the ways it had before. So some things still came out off. “My name is Konrad. I am confused as to what is going on. But I suppose that if we are working together, we should at least know each other’s names….”
