She offered just the slightest grunt when Roman pulled to set her wing. It was a relief to feel the difference afterwards. While it still hurt, it was no where near as bad since the bones were back in place.
She watched as he continued to make the bandage. There wasn't much to it really, just making sure the wing was in nice and tight and unable to move. "I have no clue, really. I've met some who thought one or the other, this is the first that really took it to an extreme of trying to remove one."
Her wing felt so much better, and now she wouldn't have to worry about catching it as she made her way thru the woods.
"Thank you, Roman," she offered a small smile to the stallion.

He had expected more of a reaction out of her once he had jerked the wing but she merely made a sound and seemed to bounce back exceptionally fast. She was strong; he hadn’t any doubt in his mind that she was much stronger than him. For once the thought didn’t deflate his ego but he made a mental note to ask his caretaker to train him up. When facing Barracus he hadn’t really even known how to defend himself and here this mare was, walking around with a broken wing and not whining about it. He felt a strong admiration for her surge in his chest as he worked away at placing the leaves and wrapping the vines.
“I don’t see how anyone in their right mind would want to destroy wings as beautiful as yours.” He offered, spreading his own wings. “Where I came from we strongly appreciated the wings of an Angeni. They are more powerful and more beautiful than our own.” Folding his wings again with a shrug he started working again. “We only wished to have such wings.” He finished.
When she thanked him he looked up at her for a moment, had he ever been thanked before? He hadn’t done much in his life to receive gratitude for. He was sure Cottus had thanked him at one time but he remembered feeling as though he didn’t deserve it. Turning his gaze back on her wing he smiled softly. “You are welcome Nariko.”

She listened to him as he spoke and finished up her bandaging. "My wings are no more impressive than your own," she shrugged a bit. She was not the type to hold herself higher than others. Everyone had their own worth, and it was not based on breed or social status, but what they made of themself. At least, in her mind.
Once Roman had finished her makeshift sling, she shifted her other wings to a more comfortable position, "That, is much better," she bobbed her head quickly. She took a moment of silence to look around, she had wandered out of familiar territory when fleeing the white stallion. "Where am I, exactly?" In the dense forest she was unable to find the mountain range that she normally navigated by.

Roman couldn’t help but to chuckle quietly at her response while looking over her wing cautiously one last time. He hadn’t given many compliments during his life but he hadn’t ever witnessed someone react in such a humble manner before. She was intriguing and with each passing moment he found himself more and more puzzled by her antics. “I suppose all things are subjective, but due to my upbringing, I still believe your wings to be far greater.” With a small smile he turned away and looked back to where he had come from. He wondered what Virgil would have said had he come along.
He watched a little nervously as she shifted her wings, hopeful that his bandaging would hold and help to prevent future problems. “Well, I got lucky then with my success.” He stated. After she asked him where she was he too looked around but was unable to hide his embarrassment. “Honestly I have only been in this area for a very short amount of time and I haven’t taken the initiative to look around yet. I could walk with you until you see something familiar if you would like?”
