Having her side grazed slightly she smiled landing. Crouching she swung her leg his leg out from under him. As she rose she brought her fist up with her aiming for his chin. Her mind was blank she just moved. She didn't need to think. After all this was still her art form.

Feeling his foot only slightly connect, he knew she had managed to shift. Letting his muscles relax, he extended his right hand to do a one handed handstand when she kicked his foot out from under him. This made her punch not in the position to connect, however it made his kicked foot perfect for connecting with her face. Finishing the movement, he flipped the rest of the way over to land on the corner of the mat. With a quick twist, he turned around to face her again, body in a half crouch.

Standing up properly she ignored the bruise on her cheek. Smiling slightly she went back to her defensive position. She had this figured out now. You had to take hits to give hits in her opinion. It was funner that way anyway. So she waited, letting him come after her now. She figured he would get bored eventually.

The two combatants stood frozen in their poses for a few moments. A breeze kicked up a small flurry of petals that drifted between them.
"Oh joy. A western standoff," Shinta drawled in a bad Texan accent. "Ain't that a pickle." His impression was made worse by his deadpan expression. After letting the standoff extend for a few brief moments, he sighed before nodding in acceptance. He didn't like attacking girls. Maybe it had something to do with his being raised by dear old Grandma. He wasn't a perfect gentlemen, but a sense of manners was always engrained in him.
However, he thought while his muscles relaxed and he moved onto the balls of his feet. When on the mat, we are gender, or race. We are warriors, facing each other as equals. To not attack would be to show disrespect to the opponent. That they are not worth the energy, that they are beneath you. And that cannot be determined pre-fight. It must be proven in battle.
Without further inner debate, Shinta moved forward. His first attack began as a half lunge forward with a feigned chop that first looked like it was going for her shoulder but instead spun around and aimed for her side. The rapid movement was followed by a forward punch to the opposite shoulder.

Yuuki rolled her eyes, at any other time she would be laughing. No she took this seriously. Unlike some people who couldn't even hit her. Staying relaxed she watched as he came after her. Waiting until the very last moment she took a hit to the side only to grab his other arm.
Using the momentum from his spin, she was able to take his arm and flip him to the ground. She hands moving like she was spinning a flag instead of a boy who was bigger then her. Bringing her leg up she aim for his face as she flipped him.
Wincing slightly as she moved, she knew there was going to be a nice bruise before noon. Taking several steps back after she let go of him. Having been taught better to over kill with hits, there was no honor in kicking someone who was down.
She had never grown up with the manners of never hitting someone. She was told if you are going to do it, do it like an artist. That was what her old master taught her. She never knew the joy of a family, nor did she care to.

Eyes widening, Shinta felt his body rise into the air as Yuukie spun him. Just as he noticed her grip loosening, he caught sight of her foot coming in for a strike. In lightning response, he blocked the kick with his forearm. As he was pushed back he grinned. It was more from relief than anything. It had surprised him that he had managed to block in time, though his arm stung from the contact. A side glance revealed a red streak.
Letting the momentum carry him across the mat, he rolled until he was able to right himself. Using the rest of the roll, he balanced himself with his good hand and turned into a roundhouse kick before landing. A little flashy, but it released the energy which took the pressure off his feet when they landed.
If there was one things about his family's technique he found helpful, it was the proper expulsion of force applied to the body. Like water over rock, his grandma used to chant.

((Always the bridesmaid never they bride : ) , So do you want to win the fight or shall I. Or will it end in a draw. I shall leave the decision to you.))
Once again Yuukie just stood the her arms raise. Ready for anything and everything. She began to wonder how long they would be at this. Until one of them won, or until Master called the match. Yuukie slightly wondered if her rib cage was cracked, or if his arm was broke. "You're not half bad, the last person I did that to went straight to the hospitable." Though back then she hadn't know better. Back then it wasn't an art.
Now she could hear the thunder in the far distance. The rain would soon follow. She silently cured Master that they were required to wear white shirts, but she would never dare say that out loud. Still she was one of the few girls in the class so she wouldn't let a little rain, rain on her parade. It was nice to have an actual challenge, even if the boy seemed to be a total a**. So she kept waiting, knowing he would eventually come back after her.

The sting in his arm dulled to a steady ache, though he refused to call the match to look at it. Plenty of time to assess wounds when the battle was over. Not waiting to debate with himself again, he jumped to the left then feinted to the right before lunging forward to bring himself to her left side while ducking down and swinging his arm around to cause he knees to buckle.
A crack of lightning lit the sky farther in the distance. If the sun was going to rise, it was well hidden beneath the heavy charcoal clouds. If it wasn't for the streetlights a few blocks away and the floodlights that kept the campus lit, they would be performing this fight in complete darkness. Not that Shinta minded, but fighting in dim twilight made following movements a bit more challenging.

((Eh I just suck at fighting, I would like to thank our dear friend Ace for helping me n_n))
Yuuki almost didn't see him move. Jumping up in the air she dodged his arms. Swinging her left foot she went to kick him in the face again. It was mostly a repeat, but what worked worked. When she made contact with an object she used it to do a back flip to get away. A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky followed by a low roar of thunder. The petals from the tree continued to dance in the wind. Going back to her defensive pose she could hear the rain starting to hit the ground.
Running toward him she didn't wait this time. She aimed to punch him square in the chest, at the last moment she use the lack of friction from the rain to spin one leg to go to his face.

Shinta knew Yuuki would jump to dodge his move, but he didn't anticipate her kick. The end result was his same injured forearm coming up to guard his face again. He couldn't help the yelp as he spun out of reach.When he faced her she was still in mid flip, so he caught a striking image of her as the lightning struck.
Sprinkles of water tickled his face as he saw her ready another attack. The dull ache in his arm had shifted to spikes of pain. Shinta let all the maybe's run through his head as he watched her movements. Maybe she knew she had hurt him more than he let on. Maybe she was exploiting that weakness. Or maybe she just liked pummeling things with the same leg in hopes that it would wear him down. Either way, it didn't surprise him to see her punch stop short and transform into another kick to his face.
So instead of letting his forearm receive any more punishment, he did the unexpected. Before her leg could make contact, he wrapped both arms around it to redirect the energy. His injured arm screamed at the contact, but he ignored it for the moment. Instead of having her leg meet his face, he forced it up to off balance her body. With any hope it would knock her on her butt. Either way, he wasn't letting go so she could kick him again.

((I'm not much of a fighter n_n wink )
Catching herself with a handstand, she waited for him to let her go. Using her free leg to kick him. Using it as leverage to pull her leg free she did a flip to get her back on her feet. Yuukie didn't go far after that. Keep you friends close, and your enemies closer right. Yuukie didn't have any friends after, so there really wasn't a boundary for her. One again she started to wait. She wasn't sure if she wanted to attack again or not.
The rain slowly started to getting heavier. It was cold, but she didn't complain. Watching him closely she waited calmly. It was now a game of the cat and the mouse. She was pretty sure she was the cat. With another blot of lightening her smirk turned very cat like. It really was time for this game to begin.
Running at him again she stopped short of punching him square in the chest. Quickly she spun around looping her arms to capture his arms. "Now lets see if I can break this arm of yours." Taking his injured arm she tightly squeezed it with both her hands. "Now tell me how does that feel?"

A grunt escaped his lips as he took the kick to the side. The water made his grip slip and she was able to twist away. 's**t,' he thought. If she didn't notice him favoring that arm before, she'll notice now as he backed away shaking said arm out to rid it temporarily of the pain. As he did, he took stock of the area. The rain was falling steadily, and the lightning was growing more frequent. 'What a time for such a match,' he grumbled silently as he pushed a vibrant green lock out of his eyes.
Movement from his opponent brought him from the brief reprieve. So she wanted to continue? Fine, he'd get serious then. The warmup round was getting tiring anyway. As she spun around and grabbed his arms, he smiled. Somehow he knew she was going for something like this.
Just as she started to put pressure on his arm, he collapsed to his knees, using the angle of his now raised arms to pull her forward. The quickness of the motion looked kind of like she leapfrogged over him.
"Hmm, doesn't hurt as much as I thought. Think you only bruised it," he laughed as he tossed her. There was no way he was letting her do more damage, or let her know if she did. Before she had time to recover from the motion, he leaped forward and did a thrust kick into her side. If the combined change of motion didn't knock her down, the sheer force behind the kick to her diaphragm would certainly knock the wind out of her, resulting in the same effect.

Yuukie cringed as she felt the kick in her side. The pain from before was nothing compared to this. She tried move, but it was hard enough to breathe. Through all the training in her life, she had never felt pain like this before. Another flash across the sky, though this time everything was getting much darker. She realized quickly she could breath properly. Short shallow breaths barely filled her lung. Fear set in quickly as she realized she was still laying on the mat. To much pain entered through her side as she tried to move. Still she tried again only to cry out in pain. Oh god it hurt like hell. Wanting to kick her legs anything to stop the pain, but she remain still.
Tears quickly filled her eyes, not because she lost the match, her side was on fire. Not being one to cry, she was still bawling her eyes out. It hurt to much to sob. Pain filled all of her and consumed her quickly. This wasn't suppose to happen. It was a match between rivals. Why did her side refuse to stop hurting. More fear entered her as she realized what had happened. Moving ever so softly she pulled up the side of her shirt. Even in the darkness she could clearly see the busing. The damage had been done.

When his foot made contact, Shinta realized one of the many hazards of fighting outside. The elements liked to mess with things. The force behind the kick also made his base foot slip out from under him due to the water that gathered in the center of the mat. Reaching out, he tried to brace for the fall, but realized too soon that he had put out his injured arm.
Hitting the ground hard, he felt the tell tail crack near his elbow. The fierce gaze suddenly shifted to one of pain. Shinta was not new to the pain game, but that didn't mean that it didn't rattle him anyway. Rolling onto his front, he sat on his knees, cradling his arm. Sharp pain ran up and down the length, but concentrated at the bend.
"You may stop now. The match is a draw," their master growled from his spot inside the dojo.
"Too late ya old geezer. I'm done," Shinta growled as he looked over at Yuukie. "Why didn't you stop us sooner?" he asked breathlessly as he crawled one handed closer to her. Sadness filled his eyes as he watched her gasping for breath. Seeing the already bruising skin, he knew he had gone too far. He hadn't intended to use such force, but had been blinded by the pain she had caused him. He thought she wasn't in any pain and wanted to even the odds. Shinta forgot about her previous hits in the same area. Ribs were only so strong after all. Reaching out, he let his fingertips touch her darkening skin ever so gently.
"I'm sorry for that," he murmured.

Yuukie cried out when he touch her. Screaming should have been the word really. "Don't....touch....me." Her voice was sharp as more tears steamed down her face. She didn't care about this stupid match, she didn't care if it was pouring rain. All she wanted was for the pain to go away. She usually enjoyed sitting in the rain. The relaxing feel of the water didn't help. Another bolt of lightning, the thunder gave its battle cry. Why did there have to be so much pain? That question kept coming back over and over again. Never having a broken bone in her body before, yet all kinds of cuts and bruises. Nothing compared to this kind of pain.
This had to be the worst day of her life. More fear came, what if they didn't let her fight again. She didn't know what to do without fighting. It had been her whole life, now she feared it was gone. Rips were tricky bones, she knew that. Even as the pain continued she hoped the bones would heal properly and get stronger. Yes take something bad and let it make her stronger.
So why couldn't she stop crying. Why did this have to happen. Taking a deep breath it turned sharp. Not wanting to have her lung to get stabbed. "It...wasn't suppose....to be like this." The shock of the pain made her see white.She wasn't angry with him in the least bit. No she was in to much pain to be angry.
Why hadn't the master stop them soon. Did he want them to do this to each other. Yuukie lost a lost of respect right then. More tears fell as she silently sobbed. This wasn't how it was suppose to happen.
